Ten out of ten! Fiancé opted to sit at the bar and get a scorpion bowl. Collin our bartender was the best! He was super personable and poured drinks like a pro. We went off of his suggestions of his favorites for our sushi roll and appetizer and I am so glad we did. The raw salmon on my roll was fresh as can be and the roll itself was delish. We got the duck appetizer and you get a good amount and the duck was crispy. If that were offered in a bigger portion as an entree I would go back just for that. I got a cucumber crab kani salad to go because why wouldn't I ?! There were also so many fun people at the bar we made friends and will absolutely be back. . Perhaps this is our new regular spot ?! Who knows

    Steak Hibachi Dinner

Hibachi was good. Chef was fun and interacted with our group. One negative I want to share was the way the bill was written. We know large groups are often added a tip. That's fine. However, the "total" in bold print included a gratuity already. Yet the bottom of the receipt stated the total with a 20% tip is $197. The suggested amount was ON TOP of the gratuity already included. We had also given our chef a $20 tip prior. No one else in our group even caught this until I told them . Sorry but in my opinion this is wrong. Check your bills. ( we did add up from their total to make it at least 20%. Their math was closer to 45%!)

    Our chef!

We came here today around 5PM and were celebrating my dads 74th birthday. We've been to hibachi 1000 times and often see the same routine with the chef (which is cool) today however, the guy was spontaneous and definitely read the mood at our table. He was very upbeat and had his own routine that was fun and fresh! He didn't stop when he was finished cooking, instead he made very funny balloon hats for the boys at the table and a tiny dog for my daughter along with swords for the other boys that were seated with us. I haven't seen my father laugh that hard in a long time! Wish we got his name (I added a pic of him off of a video I took) for the next time we visit Sakana. Food was great- as it always is!

This is a really cool spot. The like the vibe of the restaurant and the sushi is pretty solid. I love the fact they have Uni here.

Love the atmosphere here. Such awesome memories here from birthdays to graduation celebrations. Will say the quality of food seems to have decreased after COVID and prices higher but still love coming here and ordering takeout.

The only edible thing here was the miso soup. Food is super mid. Either no flavor or doused in sauce. It's giving early 2000s family budget diner restaurant. 0-10

The first time I ordered the sushi deluxe, which is under the sushi combo menu, and included 10 pieces of sushi and a California roll. This was a generous portion of food, and made for a delicious dinner! Last time, I went with the sesame chicken, which if ordered as a lunch, or dinner special, comes with an appetizer, I went with the chicken fingers, which were really good! The sesame chicken special was large enough that I didn't finish it - and it made for great leftovers the next day. Also - the crab Rangoon are delicious, and with ordering as an appetizer. Look forward to exploring more of the menu!

My daughter had ordered from the 'Chinese' menu and I had ordered from the 'Japanese' menu. Her meal came out in a lightning flash of 10 minutes. Our server came out and said that the sushi chef was behind 15-20 minutes in orders and suggested that I order from the Chinese menu instead. I did, and my food came out in 8 minutes exactly. The food was great... but I really wanted sushi. Meanwhile, we noticed that some pretty large sushi boat orders were coming out... so I don't know my small order of 10 'chef choice' pieces couldn't come out. Anyway, the server felt bad... so we got a free ice cream at the end.

They didn't have coconut shrimp last time I went. And some of the foods I ate made me nauseous. The shrimp "seafood delight" I ate was mushy, like the texture or mashed potatoes. And a sushi I ate was very dry and felt old. Some dishes are great like the lo mein noodles and beef stir fry, but a lot are just fillers that I feel like are re-cooked or re-fried and reused. I'd be weary of the dishes you pick.

I did not see anything wrong with the cleanliness of the restaurant but the food was terrible! Everything was dry, over cooked and appeared to be sitting there for quite some time. I couldn't even chew a piece of boneless spare rib and spit it out. It was so tough it was like very old beef jerky that could replace shoe leather. I never spit food out in a public place unless it is absolutely necessary and was not happy to be depositing it into a napkin. All the seafood on my plate had a strong fish taste that was off putting. It remained on my plate where I put it and more than half of everything I chose was uneaten. I was very turned off by this time. Coconut shrimp should not taste like old fish. The chicken was dry, the pepper steak was gummy and the rest was lacking flavor. The only thing I liked was the won ton soup which was still not good. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this place at all!

Amidst being fresh and brightly colored, the dish was quite bland overall. I begged for some elevated heat and flavor profiles-- it definitely fell short and was not spicy in the least. And I'm not a fan of a grease soaked platter... maybe it settled while I drove home but I definitely mopped up oil with a napkin/strained. No bueno. *Sidebar: They have a delicious green sauce that was really tasty and quite frankly saved the dish. I opted for this in place of a sweet Chili Glaze sauce that is provided because I hate sweet flavor profiles in all things dinner! Lol MVP: A wonderfully kind and efficient staff... the order was complete, error free, prepared timely and everyone was very friendly. The best item I purchased was the SANGRIA topped with fresh pineapple! Not the food-- it was all about their in-house beverages. Unfortunately, the set up is almost buffet like with add ons (I paid extra for Pico de Gallo... this also elevated the dish. With the sauce I selected and the pico, the dish literally would have been as bland as a cardboard sandwich). Perhaps it's me-- my palette is pretty elevated and I love heat. Peruvian dishes aren't exactly known for bombastic flavors, spice and heat... but the crowd and utter lack of parking got me excited. Will I return? Perhaps... definitely for a different item (perhaps the roasted chicken everyone was eagerly ordering) and it's a must on the sangria option! But $32.90 for a very basic fried rice mixed with lo mein moment + salad (I tipped $3 amidst to go).... Nah. I'd be lying if I said it was worth it. Lovely aesthetic and energy, however. Chef's energy on the food though was a miss.... Season! The! Food! Sir!

The ramen was also extremely salty as well so it seems like everything they make here is just overall on the salty side. If they just lessened every dish on that part, it would be perfect. But especially the ramen was very hard to eat without drinking 5 cups of water. The shirley temple was delicious tho! Food is 3/5 but service is a 5/5. We walked into a space with an energetic atmosphere, an open kitchen, a lively dining room, and a contemporary design that makes the restaurant feel both casual and polished. The layout encourages ordering several dishes for the table, and the variety across the menu makes it easy to build a meal that feels different with each visit. The small plates are the biggest draw because they let you try a wide range of flavors without committing to a single entrée. The pork belly buns are one of the signature dishes, featuring tender pork inside soft steamed buns with a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The dan dan noodles are another standout with their rich, spicy sauce, while the Brussels sprouts have developed a strong following thanks to their crispy texture and bold seasoning. We also appreciated that many dishes are available as half portions, making it easier to sample more of the menu without ordering too much food. The menu offers a good balance between familiar favorites and more creative dishes, with each plate feeling thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, making it easy for groups with different dietary preferences to find something they enjoy. The service matched the pace of the restaurant during our visit. The staff were attentive, dishes came out steadily as they were ready, and the servers were helpful with recommendations for building a meal around multiple small plates. The restaurant stays busy throughout the evening, so making a reservation is a good idea, especially for dinner or larger groups. Myers+Chang is one of the better places in Boston for creative Asian-inspired small plates.
