    Steak Hibachi Dinner

Hibachi was good. Chef was fun and interacted with our group. One negative I want to share was the way the bill was written. We know large groups are often added a tip. That's fine. However, the "total" in bold print included a gratuity already. Yet the bottom of the receipt stated the total with a 20% tip is $197. The suggested amount was ON TOP of the gratuity already included. We had also given our chef a $20 tip prior. No one else in our group even caught this until I told them . Sorry but in my opinion this is wrong. Check your bills. ( we did add up from their total to make it at least 20%. Their math was closer to 45%!)

    Our chef!

We came here today around 5PM and were celebrating my dads 74th birthday. We've been to hibachi 1000 times and often see the same routine with the chef (which is cool) today however, the guy was spontaneous and definitely read the mood at our table. He was very upbeat and had his own routine that was fun and fresh! He didn't stop when he was finished cooking, instead he made very funny balloon hats for the boys at the table and a tiny dog for my daughter along with swords for the other boys that were seated with us. I haven't seen my father laugh that hard in a long time! Wish we got his name (I added a pic of him off of a video I took) for the next time we visit Sakana. Food was great- as it always is!

This is a really cool spot. The like the vibe of the restaurant and the sushi is pretty solid. I love the fact they have Uni here.

Love the atmosphere here. Such awesome memories here from birthdays to graduation celebrations. Will say the quality of food seems to have decreased after COVID and prices higher but still love coming here and ordering takeout.

The only edible thing here was the miso soup. Food is super mid. Either no flavor or doused in sauce. It's giving early 2000s family budget diner restaurant. 0-10

The ramen boiled egg is cooked to perfection with a nice soft yoke, and you can tell it's been marinated for at least a few hours if not overnight in soy sauce. First off, the food came out fast (a win when you're starving), and the service was genuinely excellent. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing small talk. The place is cute and has plenty of seating. They also do take out! I ordered the Hawaiian poke bowl and WOW. The portion was huge (like "why did I think I could finish this?" huge), the price was super affordable, and the spice + flavor combo hit every craving I didn't even know I had. Balanced, bold, and just the right amount of heat. We also tried two rolls, plus the calamari and edamame, and everything across the board was solid. Fresh, well-made, and clearly cared for. To drink, I had the popping boba passionfruit tea and it was full of flavor without being overly sweet. Refreshing and fun, not syrupy. Overall: great food, generous portions, fair prices, and excellent service. I'll definitely be back and probably ordering the poke bowl again because... why mess with perfection?

Sometimes after a long workday, all you can think about is sushi. My friends and I are traveling…read moreand staying in an Air BNB and when we finished our work day we decided we were too lazy to go out or cook. Enter Umami Sushi & Poke Bowl. We found this spot on Uber eats but checked the Yelp reviews before ordering. Most celebrated the quality and freshness so we decided to order. There are so many different rolls available at great prices, but the love boat for two really caught our eye. One of our friends is vegetarian so they opted for a tofu skin maki and garden maki. They also offer a poke bowl with tofu, if you are looking to feed a vegetarian. I didn't realize this spot is located in Fall River, MA - but yet it still delivered to Providence which is wild to me. Lucky us! When it arrived, it was super fresh, beautifully arranged, and absolutely exactly what we were looking for. I would 100% recommend this place for takeout if you're in the delivery radius - the sushi is high quality and well priced. The Love Boat for two was 42 pieces - 10pcs sashimi, 8pcs sushi, California maki, spicy crunch tuna maki & Snow mountain maki or rainbow maki for $59 if you order for pick up and $72 for delivery. That is wild to me - essentially $1.40 a piece when the majority of the rolls if you include a rainbow maki have fresh, raw fish. So happy we discovered this spot for our cozy night in.

Looking forward to trying their mango special roll and their sashimi another time - so grateful to have found this gem of a sushi place.
