Sometimes after a long workday, all you can think about is sushi. My friends and I are traveling and staying in an Air BNB and when we finished our work day we decided we were too lazy to go out or cook. Enter Umami Sushi & Poke Bowl. We found this spot on Uber eats but checked the Yelp reviews before ordering. Most celebrated the quality and freshness so we decided to order. There are so many different rolls available at great prices, but the love boat for two really caught our eye. One of our friends is vegetarian so they opted for a tofu skin maki and garden maki. They also offer a poke bowl with tofu, if you are looking to feed a vegetarian. I didn't realize this spot is located in Fall River, MA - but yet it still delivered to Providence which is wild to me. Lucky us! When it arrived, it was super fresh, beautifully arranged, and absolutely exactly what we were looking for. I would 100% recommend this place for takeout if you're in the delivery radius - the sushi is high quality and well priced. The Love Boat for two was 42 pieces - 10pcs sashimi, 8pcs sushi, California maki,spicy crunch tuna maki & Snow mountain maki or rainbow maki for $59 if you order for pick up and $72 for delivery. That is wild to me - essentially $1.40 a piece when the majority of the rolls if you include a rainbow maki have fresh, raw fish. So happy we discovered this spot for our cozy night in. read more

Amazing sushi place that serves high quality fish! Left with an order of their maki special combo and their seafood kani salad. Each roll tasted fresh and they did not skimp on filling. The kani salad was refreshing and generous pieces of octopus included. I read the reviews about the location so I was prepared. It is a small hole-in-the-wall place in a building attached to a gas station. Curb appeal is not great but with such great reviews we had to try it. Legit good sushi. We got several nigiri pieces and Umami special maki roll (fried lobster roll), Scorpion roll, Hawaiian sunset (beautiful and delicious!), and Yellow fin maki (with mango). Each roll was beautiful and unique in flavor. Fresh and Delicious! We did eat there at the one little table inside that can fit 4 people. The sushi was served in Togo containers as clearly that is their primary business. It didn't take away from the beautiful display of rolls and nigiri. Service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for take out. Hope they continue to do well and maybe expand to an actual dine-in restaurant one day. read more

Great spot for poke and sushi in Fall River. Looks like they're fairly new. Don't let the location scare you, it's adjacent to a gas station. The place is very small, reminiscent of a Chinese takeout layout. Looks like their orders are mainly takeout but there is one table - so we opted to dine in. The service was wonderful, the woman taking my order was so sweet. We told her we would dine in and she apologized ahead of time for not having any dinnerware and it would be in takeout containers, if that was ok. I said of course, we weren't expecting white tablecloth service, we just want good food and that's what we got! Everything was tasty and fresh. We enjoyed everything but I really liked the poke bowls. I got the grilled salmon poke bowl and everything worked well together. At first I thought the portions looked small but it was more than enough. I think sometimes rice is used as a filler so maybe that's why it looked less than I was used to, this was a perfect portion of each component and not swimming in rice. The mister got the triple pole bowl and his was equally just as tasty, I kept stealing pieces of mango out of his bowl. Also got the pork gyoza, yellowtail jalapeño, Futo maki roll and an assortment of sashimi. The total price can get a bit steep if you order a lot of sushi but we left content with full happy bellies. With tax and tip, we spent about $125 but please note that we ordered 4 different types of sashimi and that does add up. Great spot to check out! Lived in providence for 25 years and then moved to Somerset for last 3. I had amazing sushi options in providence and have been home sick just for the food really. Tried several places and just no! But finally a delicious fresh sushi place. Lots of options and amazing rolls. My son only eats sashimi and umami is definitely fresh. Have to try if your picky about sushi, this will be your place. This is the most unassuming place you could find. Didn't realize it would be attached to a gas station and tiny, but I might have overlooked it if I had. Don't make that mistake! The place has one table and some seats, but it's really geared towards takeout. The people working here are super friendly and accommodating. The food was really good. Sashimi was fresh, poke bowls were excellent, maki rolls were good and none of it was skimped on. We've all experienced that once or twice before, not here. Let me just say, I went off of prior reviews and decided to not pass this place by. What a great decision! The owner Irene was so sweet & pleasant to speak with. We ordered the tuna tower, crab Rangoon, Mexico maki & crispy tuna maki. Every selection was an absolute smash hit!! Knocked my socks right off my body. Hidden Gem in Fall River! TBH since I moved to NE I hadn't tried a good sushi spot. I had given up on sushi and today I found Umami! Small restaurant next to a gas station. This place is absolutely adorable. It's a little bit small and is right next to a gas station, but their sign makes them super easy to find. Their service there is so great, they are always super nice and smiling whenever I go in. Their sushi has always been fresh and has never disappointed me. My son and I have gone here twice so far, and both times we have left so happy because of the delicious food and wonderful staff. It is a very unassuming, small place next to a gas station, with room for just one table, so it is meant mostly for takeout, but both times I have gone there the table was available. Their menu, however, is pretty big, including many vegetarian options. We have had the Garden Maki, Avocado Maki, Futo Maki, and others. All were fresh, tasty, and beautiful. The staff (maybe the owners?) have been very friendly and helpful, checking on us as we ate, and asking for any feedback. We love it here. read more

This little restaurant has few tables & is mostly a take out restaurant. In spite of that, they have a full menu. The family behind the counter and a friendly & efficient. The sushi isn't meant to be competitive with the best, but it offers good forks at reasonable prices. read more

Decided to try Umami based on the great reviews. It was a bit of a drive for takeout but was well worth it. Don't let the location dissuade you from trying the place, it is very easy to miss. We got 4 different rolls, all were fantastic. I believe I met the owner Irene when I was picking up, very pleasant and appreciative that I drove 25 minutes to try her place. As others have stated not much room to eat in but for takeout this will be my go to from now on. read more

When I came here to refuel, I accidentally found this treasure restaurant. The price was beautiful and the attitude of the staff at work was very good. I ordered sashimi deluxe.Every slice of sashimi is very firm, and tuna is my favorite.
