Being knew we weren't sure about this place, but we read so many great reviews that we thought we'd give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! Our server, Apple, was absolutely excellent. And then came the food, Wyche lived up to every expectation that we might have had. We even took home a container of the house salad dressing, it was so good! I love their Thai food! I think the curries are some of the best I've ever had. Get a gyoza and a Tom Ka soup too, delish! The staff working there are always so sweet and not pushy if you're spending a little extra time chatting. We placed an order for takeout this evening and we ordered three sushi rolls. The Mexican roll the fox roll and the celebration roll as well as an order of Penang curry with chicken while the Penang curry was good. The Mexican role and the celebration role had way too many Panko breadcrumbs they were inside of the Mexican roll and the celebration roll had about an inch thick layer of Panko breadcrumbs rendering the sushi rolls inedible do not recommend ordering this roll. I called the restaurant to provide the feedback and they claimed this is just how the celebration role comes. See picture attached. If this is how it always comes, I the chef reconsider their profession. read more

This is our favorite sushi place in Vero. Not much on decor but they have solid service and really good sushi/sashimi. Lunch can be busy but they are very fast. We have been to this place a few times in the past and thought to try it again. In our memory it was good, not great. We both had different curries with tofu and they were both good. Lots of tofu but a little meager on the variety of vegetables. The taste was very good and we quite enjoyed it. Not too sweet and great on the spices. There is a little outdoor seating but it is on a parking lot. However the street has enough trees to make it a pleasant kind of environment. We started outside but the mosquitoes and no see'ms were getting bad so we changed to a table inside. The service was excellent, and the wine was good at a very decent price. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. We will be back. read more

Definitely a solid four, with potential for 4.5. I'm really picky about sushi and generally insist on Japanese sushi houses or robots. Sake is Japanese and Thai. So I call them 3.5 for sushi quality, and I add 0.5 for price. For the price, they deserve to 4. And there's is potential for +0.5 for quantity. I didn't get a great feel for ambiance, because I was facing a wall covered with a brick a brack collection of plates. It was clear the place was busy, though. And this was, well, today, the day after Christmas. I'd say the place is definitely worth a visit. read more

Was in town on vacation and based on the reviews I was looking forward to ordering some good Thai food! Unfortunately, we weren't given the right order. Should've known when the person taking our order couldn't grasp a common 4 letter name and asked us to spell it. Ordered red curry and we got yellow instead-- which was ok taste wise- I guess- but the chicken was dry/gamey and over cooked. This is the third time I've eaten here, and have determined it's really the best option for sushi and Japanese in Vero proper, if you don't want to drive up to Sebastian (for the very best in the area). I usually order sashimi, and here they slice it very thin. I like the slices a bit thicker, but none the less, the fish is fresh, the service is attentive the there's one waitress who's particularly nice and remembered me from a year ago, and exactly what I ordered! It's lively and in a nice area. Definitely worth trying --- it's on my list and I'll be back. Ok-- my fourth visit last night...not bad but not great either. I went to Sake with my wife while on vacation in Florida in November. We chose this place because I wanted to eat sushi, but they had cooked Thai options that my wife would also enjoy. WOW. I have always wanted to really try some sushi, and was blown away. At first, there was a bit of a language barrier with the waitress; my total inexperience ordering sushi and sashimi obviously did not help, either. Their menu was vast, and a little intimidating for a sushi newbie like myself. After stumbling around the selection for a while, our waitress suggested a wonderful sampler dish that was simply amazing. We had some "issues" ordering my wife's entree (read: this was our misunderstanding of the menu, not the fault of the restaurant). She does not like the idea of raw anything, and ended up accidentally ordering some sushi. Well, the waitress and manager were incredibly understanding, and my wife had what she had thought she ordered withing 5 minutes. Everything was very fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The decor was also nice, making a romantic setting for us on our vacation. Try to get a booth if you can, however, as the tables in the middle are small and a little cramped together. The staff was very friendly and practically every member of it wished everyone well on their way out the door. Surprisingly good Japanese fare on Royal Palm Pointe. Despite numerous trips to Vero and dozens of visits to the restaurants on Royal Palm Pointe, we always passed by Sake Japanese & Thai instead of stopping in. With each visit to our 'home away from home', we try to 'audition' a new place and this past January Sake was up for consideration. Let's just say...we'll be back. Situated in a small strip of establishments, there is ample parking. The interior is delightfully old-school but clean and classy. There is also limited outside seating. We ordered a couple rolls and seaweed salad...our typical fare. Delicious, and beautiful. What more can you ask for? A quick perusal of the menu seemed to indicate that there are more than a few daily specials, etc. It seemed like there were quite a few 'regulars' in and out while we visited...a good indicator of quality (especially in Vero where there are choices despite with the locals may crow about). If you're looking for sushi/Japanese (and probably Thai...we did not partake), then you can't really miss with Sake. GO there! read more

My order of Yakatori never saw a hibachi; they were prepared on a griddle and set in a plate of soggy lettuce and commercial teriyaki sauce.
