Unbelievable!! Fantastic!! This is what a dining experience should be. I was greeted warmly and seated immediately with my reservation. I knew the food was going to be good because they were jam packed on a Tuesday! They have a large variety of specialty cocktails and a full bar. I enjoyed a specialty drink and then switched to prosecco. My server, Sarah, was outstanding and provided top notch service. They start you off with a yummy sweet cornbread service. I ate too much of the bread! For my meal, I started with the steak tartare and it was excellent, high quality beef. I then moved onto the chargrilled oysters which were a 1000/10! Amazing flavor... the blend of the butter and 3 cheeses was perfect! I then had the best pork chop I've ever eaten in my life. They brine it for 24 hours in a sweet tea mixture... I was thinking that would taste weird or sweet but it was neither. The chop was simply the most divine, juicy and flavorful pork chop I have ever consumed. Words can't express the deliciousness! It was 10000000/10. The chop was paired with the best grits I've ever had. I take grits seriously as a southern woman and those were magnificent. Restaurant was very clean. Ok, this was supposed to be an upscale experience. The service was excellent. That said, we ordered the steak tartar for an appetizer, the chalaza was still attracted to the yoke. My husband got the duck and the skin was the crispiest he ever had, but the duck was slightly overcooked. My grouper was slightly overcooked as well, and the coconut rice was not flavorful enough. The limoncello cake was lovely. We know we are in Florida,we are from Arizona, the covered patio was not cool enough to be enjoyable, and that's were we sat. The beet salad was refreshing. The lettuce was a little wilted but not terrible. The rock shrimp pasta was flavorful and the seafood was very tender. Came with a big portion of pasta that I requested on the side. My maple duck breast was amazing. Big piece with crispy skin and juicy meat. The seasoning was right. The mashed potatoes were smooth and fluffy. It also came with a small order of bread and the cornbread pieces were great. So, this was not only one of my favorite meals in Vero Beach, but one of my all-time favorite MEALS. Atmosphere. Perfect. Food. Perfect. Drink. Perfect. Service. Eddy elevated our experience. Eddy, you are so incredible. KNOW that when you walk up. THANK you. The wife and I kept it simple. We split the oysters, the lobster bisque, and the 8 oz steak. All were INCREDIBLE. I eat oysters about 3% of the time my wife orders them, and I will say that I am glad to include theirs as part of my 3%. The bisque. Without boring you younger readers with Seinfeld-Lobster Bisque references, let me just say that it was amazing. I am a list person. A sports guy. I asked my wife, "where does this rank?" Reply? "I don't know, but definitely in the top three ever." I concur. The steak was cooked perfectly, and was an awesome presentation. We made a mistake by over-ordering on the desserts, but I don't fully regret it. I just like brownies. She got the key lime pie. If you are full, although the fudge brownie was awesome, do not pass Go, do not collect your $200, and just go directly to Key Lime Pie Jail. It was amazing. We went to The Tides tonight, and the experience was great. Scott was our waiter, and he did an excellent job explaining the menu and ensuring we had the best first experience. We started off with the Spicy Margarita, which was really good. For our meals, we had the Crispy Roast Maple Leaf Farm Half Duck and the Herb Crusted Chicken Saltimbocca, both were delicious and very filling. We also had the Key Lime Pie, which we thought was exceptional. We sat outside, and it was really nice. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the live music was a great touch. We were visiting friends in Vero, and they took us to The Tides. I'm so glad we were able to get a reservation, they said it is a very popular spot and their favorite place to eat in town. The Tides is a cute, quaint atmosphere. Relaxed, yet upscale. Everyone was so friendly and the service was impeccable. All of the hostesses, bus boys and of course our waitress. I wish I got her name, she was so sweet, and very knowledgeable about all of the dishes. My husband and I shared the white wine mussel special as an app. The broth/sauce was to die for, I could have drank it. However, the mussels were very small, but that's just the way it is sometimes. For our mains, I got the potato crusted grouper, served with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. The grouper was cooked perfectly, so delicious, I would definitely get it again. My husband got the Swordfish special, and he thoroughly enjoyed his as well. The Swordfish was served over orzo and came with fresh veggies too. We made a reservation for three to celebrate my birthday. Upon parking in front of the restaurant, the first thing we noticed was the entrance--dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained--which was immediately discouraging. We arrived a few minutes early and were met by an older blonde woman who greeted us with clear displeasure. She offered no courtesy, not even a simple "good evening," and instead sternly informed us that we were early. Our reservation was for 5:00 p.m., and we had arrived approximately ten minutes in advance. The interaction left us disappointed and uncomfortable, especially on a special occasion. We had no desire to continue the evening under such unwelcoming treatment. We do not mind paying for quality, but it must be accompanied by professionalism and respect. We certainly will not accept rude or uneducated behavior from staff. We ended up going to one of our favorite restaurant Ocean Grill. In order to write this review I had to give 1 star . read more

The Tides is not just the best restaurant in Vero. Nor is it just the best on the Treasure Coast or in all of Florida for that matter. It might be the best restaurant in the United States. Seriously. I cut my filet with a fork. It was that tender. The seared tuna, not on the menu, but IYKYK, is nothing short of a masterpiece. Dessert, only the oatmeal cake. I have never had anything less than a stellar experience. Fabulous wine list, impressive staff. White tablecloth, fine silver. This is a Palm Beach restaurant. Will you pay for it? The Tides arguably serves the finest cuisine in Vero Beach. On this particular evening we were celebrating my Mother's birthday and while ours' was a small group, it didn't compromise our capacity to "sample" a few different dishes. Instead of starting with their signature Pear Salad, I selected the mixed beet salad, it was outstanding. As my entree I selected the veal scallopini, it was exquisite. The service throughout our meal was impeccable, exactly what you would expect with a fine dining experience. The other item of note, and this has become a pet peeve of mine, too many restaurants today serve their food at a lukewarm temperature, not here at The Tides, everyone's meals were served piping hot, something that was very much appreciated. read more

Another great meal at what is claimed to be the best fine dining restaurant in Vero Beach Florida. I am a fan of their seafood entries. Each fish is based on the catch of the day and changes frequently. We had salmon which is a regular menu item, but I prefer something different. Not to knock it, but salmon is salmon. The two specials we went for were the swordfish and the halibut, both were excellent and cooked to perfection. To start our meal we had the raw oysters and caesar salad w/anchovies to be sure. Our server Robert was very attentive and a long-time loyal employee focused on making The Tides a special experience. The dining area is very nice, simple and relaxing. Our only bad experience was that we were seated near a large table in front of the fireplace. Of the two groups that were at this table I don't know which one was louder. Seems that when you have a conversation you don't need to share with the entire room. Note to self- next time ask for a table in the back area , which appeared to have more sophisticated diners that enjoyed fine food and quiet conversations. From my previous visit I continue to encourage you to make a reservation well in advance since The Tides is a very popular spot. Street parking is easy. read more

We had a 5 star excellent dinner here. Service was wonderful -- thank you David -- as was the food. You could tell from the beginning that this was going to be great. The bread basket was wonderful -- coarse salted bread slices that were addictive along with sweet mini corn muffins and soft whipped butter. And they weren't stingy with the amount in the basket, either. We started by sharing a very good lightly dressed Caesar salad -- with added anchovies on the side. They even had no problem splitting the serving onto two plates in the kitchen. My main meal -- crispy duck -- was perfectly cooked and actually came with crispy skin as requested. One of the best I've ever had. I liked that they served the sauce -- an apricot orange one -- on the side so that the skin didn't get soggy. I loved my meal. My husband had their macadamia nut crusted snapper. He said the fish was lightly coated and flavorful. He also liked both the roasted potatoes and carrots that came with it. He was very pleased. We were too full for dessert, but we didn't miss it. We left the restaurant remarking on how wonderful everything was -- especially hard during a busy pre holiday period -- and how we would both highly recommend it. read more

What a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve dining experience! David, our server was very helpful and pleasant. I ordered the Macadamia nut encrusted Snapper with roasted potatoes and carrots with broccoli. My wife ordered the Duck with apricot orange sauce, mashed potatoes, carrots and broccoli. My Snapper was cooked perfectly and tasted so good! We had a lovely dinner for my mother's birthday at The Tides. We started sharing the seared scallop appetizer that was served over delicious asian style noodles. We also shared the marinated tomato and burrata salad, which was excellent. Hubby had the caesar salad which was good, and my mom and I each had a bowl of the crab/corn chowder special, which was excellent. The salmon was divine. It was perfectly cooked and so delicious with the Asian Noodle Salad. I would order it again and again. My mom and hubby had the Herb Crusted Sea Bass special which they loved. Our friend had the blackened grouper which was also fabulous. Although we were all "too full" for dessert, there wasn't a crumb of the carrot cake left on the plate. It was so moist with perfect cream cheese frosting. The staff was lovely. Everyone acknowledged my mom's birthday and all of the staff were very attentive. It's nice to see young people engaging with the customers. At first glance, the menu seems small but there were quite a few specials. We decided on the Ahi and Mahi specials, both were very fresh and delicious. For dessert, we took Grayson's recommendation on the Irish Oatmeal Cake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake, OMG so good! The interior is quiet and cozy, perfect for an intimate dinner. Had a great experience at The Tides. We weren't able to get a reservation (we were last minute in our attempt), but a cancellation happened and they called to let us know there was availability. Best meal of our trip, hands down. We started with the crab cake appetizer. They split the portion between us and the presentation was beautiful. One of the best crab cakes I've ever had. Very fresh, great flavor, full of crab. Then we had the peppercorn filet mignon and potato crusted grouper. Both were phenomenal dishes. We ended our meal with a pecan pie bread putting. Normally my husband and I share an entrée, but everything sounded so good. We had to order our own and we finished everything. The service was top-notch from start to finish, and our server - I believe her name was Jordan - was above and beyond. We sat outside, and it was a bit hot, but cooled down with the misting fans. The courtyard area is cute, with plants and greenery separating you from the sidewalk areas. There's also a covered patio near the outside bar. 1 of the most yummy dinners we've all had! I highly recommend this restaurant. It's always our " go to " in Vero Beach. It has indoor & outdoor seating. I consider it fine dining because of the menu, wine list & quality of the food , but we see people dressed very casually, too. The bar is outside in front. The hey have 3 dining rooms inside with beautiful artwork ( for sale ) on the walls. My husband and I always get the crab crusted grouper, but this time I ordered the filet mignon & it was unbelievable! I'm still dreaming about it ! It's definitely an indulgence, topped with melted gorgonzola & peppercorn sauce and thin onion straws. It was served over delicious mashed potatoes & green beens & carrots. So freaking good ! The other dishes pictured here are my husband's pork chop , which he said was the best he's ever had! My "mom2" had her fave dish there, the lamb ( not always on the menu) with mint jelly. We started with the delicious baked oysters & also shared the greek salad . Everything was as a 10 out of 10! We had visited a few years ago and this place was one of the reasons why we decided to visit the area again. This time there was an expanded amount of outdoor seating in the main restaurant and then another option next door. We called a few weeks in advance for reservations and we fortunate to score a high top table in the main bar area that afforded a very nice cross breeze. To me, the inside dining options is a bit dark - tables were still spread apart. The fresh bread and muffins were still a welcome start. We had to return the Caesar salad since we asked for it sans bacon. ( bacon on a Caesar??) Also asked for extra dressing, it was very lightly dressed. Service was very attentive and team focused. I ordered the potato encrusted grouper and it was yummy. Hubby devoured his salmon dish with relish. For our anniversary dinner, the Tides did not disappoint! After dinner, we enjoyed strolling around the Vero shops to burn some calories! Nice wine by the glass list too. read more
