Decent food with quick service. Nothing to terribly special but a good meal for a good price.

For being the only sushi place in Brookings, Sake has got their Japanese cuisine down 100%! I am not a huge fan of Japanese food but my boyfriend is, we tried this restaurant just to see if it lived to the hype and wow! Not only is the atmosphere fun, dimmed and intimate, but it also makes you feel like one of the locals! This is the first Japanese place that has actually cooked the chicken correct and hasn't come out dry, or overly mushy. I am extremely impressed and I will definitely be coming back! Also a side note, the decor is amazing! Makes me feel welcome and I could stare at the glowing lights forever. This place is a must stop for a date/business lunch or even just for kicks! P.S. The sushi rolls are HUGE! Start off with one first! Lol

    Yummy!

I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect it to be good and it was. It was good and priced right. The service is also great. I would definitely return. We split the spicy roll combo and sashimi dinner. It was more than enough good for my husband and I...we actually left food on the tray. We also tried the shu mai and it was great.

This was a great little find in Brookings. Very nice, clean restaurant with fast, friendly servers. The sushi is amazing for a land locked state. One of my new favorites is what they call the lovers roll. I would have posted a picture, but I lost my mind once I tasted the calamari (which was also amazing) and forgot to take more pics. Lol. I also recommend there Hibachi dishes. They have a sushi special one day of the week, but be aware that they get very busy!! All I can say is that I highly recommend you pay them a visit any day or night of the week as they are worth the trip.

The food here is delicious. You can order pretty much anything and it's all pretty tasty. My favorite items are sushi dinner and fantasy island appetizer. I mostly eat the sushi and sashimi that is raw but most people I go with like the hibachi and cooked rolls also. For first time sushi eaters, I would suggest getting some al a carte pieces. Get one or two that sound interesting to try them out. That way you can taste a tuna roll without ordering a whole dish. The egg and tofu skin rolls are good as little appetizers also.

Drinks were flat, and food was flavorless. The room was very warm, very uncomfortable to dine in.

Pricey and not that great, had some mediocre Udon with broccoli (who puts broccoli in Udon soup?) and the sushi is way overpriced.

Best restaurant in Brookings county. Ingredients are fresh. The food is exotic and authentic. Some like it hot. The hotter the better.

Pretty solid little Hibachi place. No cooks in front of you though. Surprisingly good sushi for Brookings, SD.

It was good food and the service was quick. Had to try it, although I don't think it is my type of food.

Ambience very nice, not loud, all the food looked very hot and steamed you were supposed to and nice sushi bar. I have to use a walker to even walk much distance, they were very accommodating and quickly came to the door to open them and let me through. Sat me close to the buffet so I wouldn't have to do any extra walking. The food I'm only able to eat a minimum amount, so I only got one plate, I had fried fish, Chinese mushrooms, chicken nuggets, sweet-and-sour chicken, lo mein, sugar roll, sweet-and-sour sauce, hot, green, tea, etc. All of it had real nice taste, but like at most buffets, it comes out hot off the buffet, but by the time you get to it, it's kind of cool. Wish somebody could develop a plate warmer for buffets. Again, I cannot describe how helpful everyone was. Thursday afternoon 3 PM, cost was $17.90 and I left a nice tip. I would suggest hardly if you're looking for a good buffet of both Chinese and American and sushi and hibachi, for a nice price, try this as soon as you can. Wish I could eat more than one plate, but 76 years old and stomach is limited. I had a good time and a good meal.
