I came here with my family and it was delicious! I ordered the dragon roll, mango roll, volcano roll, yellowtail roll, and salmon roll. I liked all of them, but I think the volcano was the best because it was the most flavorful. The service was great, it didn't take long to get our food after we ordered and the server was attentive to anything we needed. We sat and got our drink order in almost immediately. the menu has such a variety of things. Sushi, ramen, hibachi, appetizers, bowls... all things. I saw the hibachi and that sounded so good. It also came with salad and soup. It was like going to the hibachi restaurant where they cook in front of you but here you just get your food without all the hoopla. Soup and salad are the basics. My first time here. The restaurant is clean and decorated nicely inside. It has a nice ambience. I would rate my experience at 3.5, but im rounding it up to 4 stars. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. We had good service throughout our meal. I ordered hot tea with my dinner. When i tasted it, the tea was terrible. The bad taste was from the water. Im sure they used tap water to make the tea. It had a metal and chlorine taste. Dont order the tea. If they use filtered water, I believe there should not be any problem with the tea then. So I fixed that problem by ordering a 40oz Sapporo beer :) We had a vegetable tempura plate for an appetizer. The tempura was really good. I thought the fried batter was crispier than other restaurants. I really liked the tempura. What was different was the tempura mushrooms. I have never seen tempura mushrooms, but ok I tried them. They were ok, but I think i like the traditional vegetable type tempura or shrimp tempura better. The hibachi chicken was okay. It lacked season/flavor to us. It was faintly flavored I think with a sesame flavoring. I would pass on this next time. I ordered two specialty rolls, one was the Out of Control Roll and the other was Lady bug roll. The rolls were good but they were noticeably small rolls and I thought a little pricey at $14.98 each when I saw the size of the rolls. The rolls were both tasty though. No complaints on the taste. The service was excellent as I said earlier. Nice restaurant and worth a trip to try it out for yourself. read more

Quiet spot (almost to quiet) with great sushi staff was very friendly! I would put it up there in the top 5 for sushi spots in Sioux Falls.

Last week I ordered take out. I ordered the chicken ramen, the OMG roll, &, yellowtail, the Sioux Falls roll. I tried everything but only completed the yellowtail & one roll. The other roll was very Mayo forward, that I could not taste anything else. The chicken ramen was a little fishy tasting for me. I saved the food for my husband - because he'll eat anything. However, he was not a fan. Adding pictures or even description to the items on the online ordering would be helpful to know fully what it entails. I initially was not going to leave this negative review as there are so many glowing reviews; however, when I placed my order, I added gratuity. When I picked up my order I noticed the staff added additional. It was only a couple dollars more so I didn't make a fuss to change it, but it left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). read more

I was needing to fill my sushi quota. Looked around town at the limited options. Decided to try this place first. I wasn't sure about dining in but soon found out that it was take out only. You can order at the door if needed. The menu has plenty of options. The question was size. I ordered a roll that had all my favorites. I honestly don't recall the name so my apologies. I didn't take a picture of the menu. The other roll was the ocean roll. They were very tasty. Flavors and spices. The thing that killed it from 5 stars is the prices. Small rolls and huge price. Way to expensive for my taste. The edamame was good. But again the price kills the enjoyment. read more

Not ideal. Came here bc of great reviews. I frequent Masa and Oshima downtown. Portions very small two smaller- than- thumb size sashimi pieces for 7$ a pair. Tuna seemed previously frozen as evidenced by the water leaching from it. Yellowtail meat (spine side) was oxidized so it's been chilling for a little bit. Rec trimming this but this gets into portion size issues. Yellowtail app pretty good, drowned in ponzu though, slices from the tail so not the "best part" of the fish. Hand rolls...packed w rice and again small portion of fish. At the end 3% fee was charged if using a CC, which should be identified prior to getting the bill in front of you. Lady was nice and removed it however. I tried to give this feedback in person but she seemed apathetic. I don't know why I cheated on Sushi Masa which has by far the best in the city. read more

HaD a great first visit to my closest Japanese place. Decor is modern and cute. They do play country music. Not a ton of room for big groups but a few tables for 6. Great customer service- my three kids don't love Asian cuisine but our waitress turned on cartoons for them and they let us enjoy a meal. I had three rolls (Sioux Falls, New York and Volcano) and very much enjoyed them. Tightly rolled and held together well. Fresh fish. Really quite good sushi rolls. Didn't try sashimi this time but all the rolls were great. My husband had steak hibachi- flavorful. It's cooked in the kitchen so there isn't a hibachi experience but was tasty. Kids had chicken katsu (basically a chicken nugget if you too have picky kids) and they all fought over it. Another had chicken ramen (huge bowl, honestly not quite as good of a broth as at Ramen Fuji, but they might have made it mild for my 7 year old). My other son had salmon teriyaki which was good (dies come with a lot of fried onions - will leave those off next time for kids). We will be back. This restaurant has a small frontage so not easily seen but the food is worth the search. It was easy to place an order online. My wife and I had a terrific Japanese lunch. I had the NY Strip Bento Box. You get several different foods to eat. All were cooked perfect and had awesome flavor! Definitely filling. I could eat one of these every day. Completely disappointed with the customer service here. We went in around 3:30, the sever came over and told us to sit anywhere, but we couldn't sit at the one both that we sat down at!!! "Just not there!" (It was clean so I don't know) Again, nobody else was there. We asked the server for any recommendations and he just said "I don't know." We ordered a couple soups, tempura shrimp and jalapeño bombs just to try. The soup was good, not anything spectacular, just run of the mill miso soup. The shrimp tempura was alright but only 2 pieces of shrimp for $9.00!!! (Highway robbery) The jalapeño bombs were ok, but the spicy tuna tasted a bit off. The entire time we were there, NO ONE asked how we were doing or if we needed anything else. (No refill on my water) So disappointing!
