I recently came here again and it didn't taste as good as it used to. The fish on the sushi pieces were actually a bit warm than cold. They seated us near the cashier and the waitresses were basically on our table the whole time. When our appetizer came, there weren't enough room on the table- instead of taking the plates we were done with, the waitress put our appetizer on top of the dirty plates. I don't get why didn't the waitress just take away our dirty plates and put our appetizer on the table. I highly doubt I would be coming here anytime soon. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Sake on a Monday afternoon around 11:30AM. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived, but at around 12:30, all the tables were full!. We were here for the $12.95 lunch buffet and it was so worth it!. The $12.95 lunch buffet is only valid Monday to Friday 11AM to 3PM. The $17.95 dinner buffet is good for 7 days. The waiter gives you a small piece of paper so you could mark down the quantity of anything you want. Everything was delicious and and the restaurant was clean. However, the waiters were a bit slow. We had to ask two different waiters to refill our waters before they actually did. They also brought us another table's order of salmon teriyaki. Since it was a buffet style lunch, it wasn't that big of a deal. The difference between the lunch buffet menu and the dinner buffet menu is that the latter includes special rolls and slightly different appetizers, The lunch buffet was still good though. Best sushi place in Brooklyn! Best price for AYCE! Only negative thing is the hostess is very unfriendly as well as all the waitress and waiters all with a straight unhappy face! This place is a one hidden gem in Brooklyn. As a sushi lover I have been to a lot of sushi spots and this one is the best food wise. Always yummy and fresh and their kani salad is incredible. It's AYCE place with lunch and dinner menus for VERY reasonable price ($15). The place is always packed but the service is still fast. Been here countless times to give them a one star rating. This place gets packed because of its inexpensive all you can eat price, so it's hard enough for customers to just walk to the bathroom without lightly brushing up against someone's arm while their seated. The waiters sometimes presents the food right over your shoulder without any heads up to be careful. Today was just terrible. We were seated in a two-seat table where people constantly pass by our sides to get to and from the bathroom, sushi station, kitchen, and the extra seating in the back. While eating you can feel the vibrations of everyone's footsteps while they pass by; it makes it quite unpleasant to be seated there eating through that. The soy sauce tasted sour to me, and supposedly re-used soy sauce. The Alaska roll had salmon pieces in there much smaller than the cucumbers. It makes you wonder if you ordered that or a cucumber roll or something else. Bill came out to be $43 for lunch. $8 from the leftover sushi we had no appetite to finish. One of my favorite All-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in all of Brooklyn. The dinner selections are slightly better than the ones on the lunch menu. The fish is always fresh. The mussels I've had only one time and they were microwaved, you can taste it from the moment you begin to eat it. The rolls and hand-rolls are always made fast to order. A few things I always order is a: chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, and a shrimp teriyaki. A few reasons the dinner menu is better than the lunch menu, you are allowed 1-sashimi appetizer per person and 2-pieces of uni (sea urchin) per person. If you don't finish eating anything that you order, they charge you extra. One issue about this place is sometimes there is a wait for a table during dinner hours and tables are all too close together. There's also very limited street parking in the area with lots of metered-parking all along 86st and side streets. read more

I usually get the all u can eat for 21$ which is great because you eat more than 21$ worth . The prices for all you can eat are great. It isn't too expensive and there's a wide variety to choose from. The only thing that I didn't like about my experience at Sake is the wait for the food. You'll end up waiting for a while before you actually get the stuff you ordered. Occasionally, they miss out on a couple of the things you ordered, but that's not really a problem since you have the option to reorder. Sake is awesome but what all you can eat sushi joint isn't? I could have sworn I ordered more sushi rolls but by the time I was finished, but I was glad they didn't bring them out. Although I wouldn't mind paying the extra fee to box it up and enjoy it later. The sushi was fresh and just made and so were the other little appetizers. They don't use a lot of rice on the rolls which is how I prefer it so I was pleased. There is a nice selection of rolls but don't expect to see the specialty rolls that normally cost $6 in other sushi joints. Oh Sake...the go-to spot of my friends for affordable AYCE sushi. I've tried other AYCE sushi spots in Brooklyn for around the same price and their quality never measured up to Sake's. Even though Sake's sushi is average quality, other AYCE sushi places tasted way worst. Taste and quality wise I would give it a 3 but since it is cheap and fulfilling, I'll give it a four. One thing I like about Sake is that their fried dishes like tempura and katsu were fresh - it was crunchy and straight out of the fryer. Other AYCE places seem to have a tendency to precook a bunch of them and leave them out so they taste lumpy after being out too long... This is the place to go if you're around 86th street and in need of sushi. You simply cannot beat the price and quality for an all you can eat spot. The sushi is fresh and the kitchen food is good too(mostly). The salmon teriyaki is delish, while the calamari tastes like deep fried rubber. The service is hit or miss.
