$7 Yuzu Cheesecake. Literally a bite and a half

Ramen was pretty decent, cheesecake was comically small but I understand it's risky ordering dessert from a regular restaurant these days

Another hot day in search of a restaurant with AC. Although the AC wasn't as strong as we would've like, it was okay. They immediately served us nice cold cups of water. The ramen was pretty good. I ordered the Kuro and the flavor was pretty good. Not too overwhelming and noodles had a good chewiness. The cha siu is a little fatty and there aren't many toppings. We also ordered a chicken maki from their experimental menu. It was just okay. The chicken was very tough, felt overcooked and pounded very thin. The chicken wasn't very crispy either. Service was attentive and refilled our waters. Overall: ramen is pretty decent, portion size is typical, the appetizer might be a hit or miss.

BLUF: OK; we've had better. We stopped by Izakaya Ajimi for a light and quick dinner. We ordered: - Ajimi Curry Ramen: $13.50 ($14.70 with tax). There was little curry flavor to the dish. - Pan-Fried Dumplings: $7 ($7.62 with tax). Unevenly prepared. One of the dumplings was completely charred on the bottom. The restaurant is a brightly lit space. There are two adequately maintained restrooms.

Really sweet and efficient staff that spoke English and Mandarin. This is a cash only restaurant , and the interior is pretty spacious and open with lots of seating. It supposedly says sushi and ramen on the menu and there's a big space up from near the front that says experimental sushi bar but there's no sushi on the menu. I got the one tsukemen dish on the menu, which you can get less spicy ($14) I think. Overall the dish was a really decently portion with a hefty amount of noodles - I think the amount of butter and then the addition of truffle oil threw me off. There were a lot of textures and I think they could've done a little less. My cousin and his wife really enjoyed their ramen with broth and skewers, so I'd def come back and try those!

price - $50 including tax and tip food - 2/5 service - 3/5 ambiance - 3/5 overall, the food was not up to my standards. i ordered the mazamen and the curry ramen. first off, the mazamen is a dry noodle where you have to mix it together. i was really looking forward to this dish because it was one of the ramens that didnt have a soup base. this ramen had a weird taste and i didnt like it at all. on the other hand, the curry ramen didnt taste like curry at all. im not sure if curry was even added tbh. the flavor was not there. the ramen tasted like plain packaged ramen noodles so theres nothing too special about that. i also ordered some fries and sausage skewers (not shown in picture) but they were also okay tbh. there wasnt anything special so you can really just find it at any other shop that sells it. the service was good tho! they were consistent with taking our orders and checking up on us but either than that, nothing really stood out. the ambiance was alright too. it was like your typical japanese restaurant so not too much there either. i came with high expectations since i saw that this restaurant was part of the "izakaya" restaurants but i left extremely disappointed in the food

Consistently tasty and friendly restaurant with precovid-like prices (as of 2024). I have been here multiple times for multiple occasions, always leaving with a reason to come back. There are not that many places that make mazemen, and their spicy kick makes me hungry for more. The classic ramen broth had a distinct, refreshing chicken flavor that's worth a try. My only criticism is the portions, but it can be balanced out by getting one of their many appetizers. On that note, they are currently deploying an experimental appetizer menu, so I know what to look forward to on my next visit.

This has become one of my go to ramen places in brooklyn! Ramen is not bad but I wouldn't say it's the best but it does satisfy those ramen cravings! The staff is very patient and friendly. I love their salmon tartare and get it everytime! We went on a saturday afternoon and it was very slow so it was peaceful and quiet to eat our meal which I like so the ambiance is very calming. I would recommend this spot to my friends for sure!

I've visited over 5 times in the last year and the service is consistently great but ramen can be a bit inconsistent. Apps -- truffle fries and takoyaki always a must for us Ramen -- Deluxe, Miso, and Tantan all good options but we find the broth can be more diluted during some visits. Noodle texture and chasiu consitently good.

I was craving ramen and didn't want to venture into Manhattan for it and saw this place had great reviews. I had my doubts but decided to go for it and I honestly wish I had listened to my gut instinct. We got the classic ramen and I knew I was in trouble when I saw how diluted the broth was. There was absolutely no flavor and only the noodle was good as it was super al dente. The pork was tough and way too fatty and had no flavor. I did enjoy the jammy egg which was cooked nicely. We got the pork and beef skewers and the beef was tough and hard the pork was OK but I really did not enjoy the sauce, it has an odd taste to it. The crunchy cheesy shrimp balls were OK, nice and crispy and good amount of cheese but nothing special. Service was fine and friendly. Overall a disappointing experience and would not come back again. Prices are very reasonable but the food just doesn't taste good.

This is my new go to ramen spot! The pork, egg and broth were delicious. The broth was so flavorful. We also ordered their takoyaki, really good. The only con is that they are cash only.

Came in on a weekend night and was seated immediately. Think this spot is new but will definitely be crowded soon. Their black garlic ramen is pretty good. Will be back to try their deluxe ramen. I got the black pork skewer and it was delicious. Food here is great but price point is definitely on the higher end. I would still come back though as good ramen is hard to find these days. There's a full bar and pool table in the back. Vibes are nice and it's pretty inside. My only issue is that within 5 minutes of being seated -- I was approached 3x by the servers to ask if I can order yet. It wasn't packed at all and they weren't closing for another 1.5 hours so I didn't understand why they were rushing my table. Tip: They are CASH ONLY!!

    Ajimi Tantan

Pretty solid ramen spot overall. My only gripe is that all the broths are chicken-based instead of pork bone. I tried the Deluxe and the Tantan -- the Deluxe stood out with its rich black garlic oil and extra slices of meat, super aromatic and satisfying. The Tantan, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming -- the minced meat and mild flavor didn't deliver the kick I expected. The cheesy crunch shrimp and Ajimi buns were decent, but the fried rice had an odd aroma that threw me off a bit, though not terrible.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.
