I went today and spent a great deal of money at Saks fifth and got the worse experience at checkout. A women by the name of Carisa checked me out. 1) she made a huge deal because I had a temporary debit card and refused to take it 2) BECAUSE IT WAS 9:02PM she was unable to locate 2 pairs of shoes I needed I understand that sometimes things can't be done, but the attitude is NOT NECESSARY!!! THE ABSOLUTE WORST customer service and its especially slow. I understand that I am here on the Monday after Black Friday weekend but this is absolutely horrible. There is an enormous line starts here sign and a sales associate even pointed a customer to the line and then she walked right up to the register and they started ringing her up. I was so fed up that I dropped my purchases and walked out, I didn't need them badly enough to condone bad customer service. Definitely worth stopping in this Off Fifth location, as well as the nearby Neiman's Last Call. If you are willing to look around and check back often, you will eventually find a deal. Recently, a pair of platform Gucci sandals were marked down to $240 from $635. They were also eligible for an extra 30% off because they were on the sale rack, so it brought the price down to around $180 with tax. I compared prices online, and the same exact sandal is currently on sale on Bluefly.com for $508. So, Off Fifth definitely had the better deal! This is by far my favorite store at the outlets! The selection is full of steals, deals and trends across the board- with a little something for everyone! And despite what other yelpers say, we love bringing our little yorkie in her stroller (no shame!) and we are treated so well by these associates! Heather the manager has been ever so kind to my husband and me over the years and it's obvious she trains her staff to be top notch! This is an amazing group of employees at this location and we will continue to frequent it! read more

I've been to Off Fifth Saks many times at the Milpitas location and I must have arrived at the perfect time when I happened to find a really cute dress priced at only 10% of it's original price and had only one left in MY size. That NEVER happens to me and found it completely from happenstance. Usually I find something I like and size wise I end up disappointed seeing only the larger sizes. I also scored a Helmut Lang top for 60% off. The associates need a bit of coaching on service though. I asked one of the sales associates near the women shoes a question and as I was asking she smiled and told me to wait a minute and walked away only to start doing something else on the other side of that dept. WTH? Maybe she didn't speak English but that was totally rude. You don't have to be fluent in English to know that's not acceptable in the service world. Other than that incident because of the wide selections offered here pretty much guarantees a visit from me each time I'm around the socal region. read more

This is a good spot for unique Men's designer clothing. I've found some Bruno Magli shoes for nearly 50% of the SRP, and they're a good source for Robert Graham shirts, also about half the price you'd see at most stores, albeit the size and style selection isn't reliable, so every visit is like a treasure hunt and can be hit or miss. read more

I'm not much of a shopper, but I enjoyed wandering around this store. Some good deals and the place was well staffed and stocked for xmas.

The people at the fitting rooms were quick, nice, and efficient. The check out people were professional. Not sure why I need to sign up for the MORE card if I can't even use it at a regular SAKS, but I did and it's free but I think they just wanted to capture my email address so they can send me stuff. This was my first time buying something from there so it's not cheap but the quality seems nice so that's what's more important. The selection was great, varies, and it seems to have everything a girl would desire. The prices are fair for the quality. read more

I had a very bad experience today at this establishment! I wanted to purchase a Burberry purse that was locked so I asked the cashier to unlock it for me and she said sure. I stood and waited by the purse for roughly 5 minutes and she came again and said that someone would help me shortly, no problem I kept waiting. Mind you there was a gentleman who seemed to be like a manager standing next to her and kept looking at me but never bothered to come help. After maybe 10 more minutes that same gentleman comes and asks if I needed help and I said yes I need this bag. So he left and I thought he went to get the keys but instead went to unlock this bag for this other lady who had just arrived to the other side. I was very disappointed and upset so I decided to walk out! Completely lost my sale and the customer service I received was horrible!!! Will not be returning here ever! read more

This store has been a complete nightmare. I bought a black dress with white accents and the black dye has transferred onto the white accents. I have only wore the dress once. I took it to my dry cleaner and she would not take the dress because she said that the black would bleed more. She suggested I take the dress back. When I took the dress into the store they were making up every excuse not to accept the dress back. There was another woman trying to make a return with tags and receipt and they refused her return. This store must have a NO RETURN policy. They told me that they needed to contact corporate and they would call me in 10 days. I called corporate while I was at the store and they told me that I would need to make a formal complaint. After I submit my formal complaint, I would hear from them in a couple days. I offered to send the dress direct to corporate to show that I am not making this up, the dress is poor quality, period. Everyone should know that if you buy something from this store and it doesn't work out, you will have a huge hassle to deal with!!! I rarely complain but this is worth everyone knowing. This store will not take back damaged merchandise, instead they will use every excuse to blame you. My family, friends, and I are completely done with Saks. read more

Not recommended. First, prices are not consistent with what you'd expect for an outlet, and second, quality isn't worth the price here. Purchased a pair of men's shoes for our son for $150, which would have been a reasonable price, but later found that the shoes (not the box) were mislabeled by 2 sizes. Seems like they're selling seconds. They accepted a return, but in the end it was a lot of inconvenience, and we found better quality, properly labeled shoes for a comparable price at a standard retail store. To make matters worse, we also purchased a $20 umbrella (again, not outrageous, but certainly not a discount price) which broke on first use. Saks not only refused to accept a return on the defective item, but also made it clear that they NEVER accept such returns once the customer has REMOVED the price tag (having the tag in your possession is apparently insufficient for their policy). Anyway, that was the final straw. There are lots of other clothing stores available to suit every preference and pocketbook. You can do better elsewhere. read more

Don't be tempted by the supposedly low prices. You only think you get a deal. Bought a $1500 suit for less than $500 and thought it was a great deal. But when I got home and took off the jacket's sleeve tags, there was a hole underneath. I called the store to ask to exchange the jacket, and was told that they cannot take it back because the tags were removed. I guess I should have used my x-ray vision to see the hole under the tag before removing it. I explained that I bought a damaged item and want to return it. But they said that I should have had the tags professionally removed and that as they cannot resell it, the do not accept it back. I told them that it is damaged and they should definitely not resell it. But they would not take it back. I then called the chain's customer service who said it was up to the store to accept returns or not. So I am stuck with a suit that I cannot wear and they do not take responsibility for their merchandise. Seems they are the 99-cent store after all. read more

I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the customer service here is the worst and a couple of the employees need better people skills. We came here with the intention of buying my fiancé a new pair of glasses that would serve as prescription glasses. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us as there are a million employees standing around, as per usual any outlet store. The glasses section is literally RIGHT by the door so instead of greeting us, they sent out an employee to "arrange" the glasses while staring at us the entire time as if we were going to steal something. She didn't say a word to us, didn't make any recommendations, nothing. Just stood there and stared and it made me feel so uncomfortable. We ended up buying a pair of glasses and the employee who helped us (I think her name was Natalie?) had literally no expression on her face whatsoever. No personality, no hello thank you, like I'm not even sure she was conscious the entire time. I was really surprised by this considering this is more of an upscale store but who knows, maybe we just got the off crew. read more

i went into there store on friday 10-3-2008 with my sister i had my dog in a stroller and asked to leave saying there are no dogs allowed it was not like he was out i have never been ask to leave any non food establishment's. i have been going to this outlet for many years i will never step foot in your store and the lady at the front door you are a real bitch.i new there was a reason why i never went in that store. read more
