Best wings in Chattanooga I have ever had. Period. Make sure you call your order in if you are around lunch or dinner though or the wait can be long. My favorite is the jumbo extra hot wings and the southern fries. Hands down the best. Only critique I could possibly have is I wish the extra hot sauce was a little bit hotter.

Not garlic rubbed wings as ordered

I love saks ..but ordered 10 piece with garlic rub and sweet hard sauce. Hour later have cold regular fried wings delivered. No hard sauce or no celery. Tried to call to get it right and mailbox is full. Would appreciate the food I paid for.

    the outside of a restaurant

Giving 2 stars because customer service is not where it should be. After trying to call in an order and being on hold for 15 minutes to arrive and still be on hold and there be no line the owner was very disrespectful and said "next" as if he was annoyed when I should be the one annoyed. Anyways I had to wait 15 more minutes for an order that could've already been ready when I got there .My family and I love the food but we definitely will not be back anytime soon. It's crazy because when you try to support the black businesses they treat you like crap. Hope it gets better.

    Outside of Shack!

Was in 'nooga looking for a place to move into. Got super hungry and saw a couple chicken shops pop up. Drove by and just by the outside of the place you know it's finna smack! Got the 10 pc medium wing. Medium was nice good mix of crunch and meat, got the x-hot on it. That sh*t is HOT, but so delicious, throw a lil sweat on your brow! 2 dollar bag of okra had so much okra, it was good not as salty as i prefer but for how much okra i got it was no bother. Certified me coming to the area just so i can hit sak's shack on the reg!

The Catfish Strips were so delicious and perfectly fried. Super yummy. Will be returning.

Taylor was our server and she was PHENOMENAL. from making us feel welcome to making us never want to leave, she had the best personality. She was prompt and checked on us many times to ensure we were enjoying our time. We ordered a couple cocktails, the blackberry mule (something like that haha) was great. I had 2! for dinner we had the spinach dip and steak nachos from the appetizer sections. The balsamic glaze on the nachos was my favorite part, just the right amount of tangy with savory. Will absolutely be coming back for those again! This is a beautiful restaurant, from the entrance to the clean and neat bathrooms. Will 100% be back.

Now, the place had more noise than a family reunion after someone mentions politics--two teenage softball teams carrying on, laughing, living large. Hard to fault that. Better than silence so thick you can hear your own regrets. Food showed up quick, which is about all you can ask when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. And it was good--honest good. Not "tell your mama about it" good, but solid, dependable, "yep, I'd order that again" good. Prices didn't make you feel like you'd just financed somebody's boat, either. Beer was cold--like it ought to be, like it better be--and the waitress understood to be there exactly when we needed her and vanishing when we didn't. That's an art form. Now the atmosphere... well, it had all the charm of a place that once had big decorating plans and then decided, "Eh, this'll do." A little on the bare side. Felt like a Friday night that never quite got dressed up. But I'll tell you this--I'd go back. And that, right there, is about the highest praise you can give a place without writing a love letter to the chef.

Wound up at the aquarium for a couple hours and ended up hungry at the very end of it. Not far from where we were parked we found the Wooden City conveniently across from it all (dare I say a brisk walk's worth) with Mellow Mushroom and Ben & Jerry's establishments at both corners. We were given the options of staying inside or being placed outside and we chose (biased a lil) the opportunity of eating outside. We were taken care of accordingly by Jonathan, who is a perfect example of someone that makes tourism worth it, we chitchatted back-and-forth and came across some great options on our appetizers and drinks. While we waited for drinks, we were served water with ice as the weather outside was pleasant but a little too hot for the afternoon... When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then. Towards the end, I saved the location at the name of the restaurant, as I would like a near future to come back and visit with more time. Jonathan was an absolute help for our satisfaction in Chattanooga and we are thankful.

The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. No signage warning of the fees, no warning from the cashier. He quoted me the total price of the order, but the receipt showed a higher amount than he quoted due to the stealth junk fee. Had I been told there would be a junk fee, I would have paid cash. But they hid the junk fee until after the sale was made. It's so tiring getting hit with stealth junk fees. They can charge what they wish for their product, but for crying out loud, STOP it with the stealth fees and honestly price your product that includes all of your costs except for sales tax.. If you think you have to gin up a fee for something, put it on the menu, on the entry door, and at the register. Or better yet, raise your menu prices by whatever amount you think you need and give customers a discount off of the menu price for cash. Credit/debit cards are used for nearly 80% of retail purchases. Your product prices should reflect the way the vast majority of your customers pay. No one gets an unpleasant surprise that way, and you are being honest with your customers. It's not that hard to do...

The church chairs also were kind of messing with the vibe. Looking back, I'm not surprised at all to find out the restaurant is affiliated with a church. But the food was great! My friend enjoyed her pizza and I liked my burger and fries. I think the burger could have had some more flavor to it and more cheese, but the bun was awesome and the fries were amazing. I was alone and asked for a quiet table in the back - I looked at the patio which was really nice and spacious, but it was about 95 degrees so I chose to sit inside due to that. I was seated at a nice booth alone with tons of space and a friendly waitress came to explain the menu to me and take my order. I had a mocktail made that was very good - and they only charged $5 for all mocktails which I appreciate. As a non-drinker it irritates me to pay $13-18 for juice that doesn't even have alcohol. I chose the house salad and it was by far the best I've ever had. Loaded with fresh veggies, delicious dressing, cheese and some breadcrumbs I think. Great size and portion for the price and fabulous combination of items. I chose the salmon with peaches and cream couscous. The salmon itself was wonderful - but that couscous was so good, I could not stop eating it. It had corn and fresh peaches and it was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. For dessert - I went with the Chocolate Bomb.com but found it to be wayyyyy too salty with the toffee, salt, and combo. I wish I'd gotten their famous cheesecake but, next time! Loved everything about this spot. Very elegant and no portion of my food wasn't clearly well planned and carefully prepared. Highly, highly recommend.
