I feel like I've done a review on this place before but guess not. In the past, i vowed to never go back to this place because the woman who answers the phone to take the orders was BEYOND rude!! But this damn catfish strips were calling my name!!!! I ordered a catfish strip plate. It came with about 6-7 strips. When ordering, the woman asked me if i wanted a small or large plate. I asked how many strips came with the small and she answered 5. When i asked how man came with the large, she said 15! I was like damn-there isn't an in between! But she obviously didn't know cause i know for a fact i had more than 5 strips. This restaurant is not a dine in one. It's an old Central Park building and they have chairs that you can sit in out front, but i never see anyone other than the workers taking their smoke breaks there. My food was great! The catfish was hot and fresh and so were my fries! If I'm ever craving catfish, this is who i would recommend for on the go food. read more

Love their wings, especially when I could get drums and flats, jumbo size. Now they are not offering those because they are too expensive and take too long to cook. Too bad - now I won't be able to get my wing fix! Really did love them with their honey BBQ sauce. And they make the best slaw I've ever had, but it's way too expensive for what you get. We went yesterday Feb 4 2021 and I was skeptic because it was a little building on a parking lot but it turned out to be nice people and good wings. The wings are a lil bit smaller than normal but seasoned well. Best wings in Chattanooga I have ever had. Period. Make sure you call your order in if you are around lunch or dinner though or the wait can be long. My favorite is the jumbo extra hot wings and the southern fries. Hands down the best. Only critique I could possibly have is I wish the extra hot sauce was a little bit hotter. read more

Bought a Groupon for this place. Had been wanting to try it and this gave me the impetus. It's literally a shack on Brainerd Rd. You drive up and order and then wait. The menu is pretty simple, chicken wings, fish, fries, etc. You can get large wings or small wings or even boneless. There are several flavors to choose from, traditional wing sauce, bbq, teriyaki, lemon pepper. I opted for the large Tangy BBQ 10 pc wings. With my Groupon I actually only paid .91 cents. Great deal! The tangy bbq was mustard based bbq, a bit sweet and tangy. It was really good. I would have that flavor again, though I want to try other flavors. Giving 2 stars because customer service is not where it should be. After trying to call in an order and being on hold for 15 minutes to arrive and still be on hold and there be no line the owner was very disrespectful and said "next" as if he was annoyed when I should be the one annoyed. Anyways I had to wait 15 more minutes for an order that could've already been ready when I got there .My family and I love the food but we definitely will not be back anytime soon. It's crazy because when you try to support the black businesses they treat you like crap. Hope it gets better. read more

Was in 'nooga looking for a place to move into. Got super hungry and saw a couple chicken shops pop up. Drove by and just by the outside of the place you know it's finna smack! Got the 10 pc medium wing. Medium was nice good mix of crunch and meat, got the x-hot on it. That sh*t is HOT, but so delicious, throw a lil sweat on your brow! 2 dollar bag of okra had so much okra, it was good not as salty as i prefer but for how much okra i got it was no bother. The food is great but I am giving this a 1 star because the woman that works in the front should be fired. She is very rude and short with people. I'm sure she is the manger and she happens to be very unprofessional. She tries to dictate how people use Groupon and she makes her own set of rules as well. Also, the prices online are not accurate and updated. The customer service needs to improve here if they expect to continue or else they won't last much longer. I wish they would have friendly service not to mention that the wait here is usually longer. I haven't been back here in several months because I always have an issue with being disrespected at this place. I've had her take my card and cellphone just to prove that I wasn't lying about a Groupon. It's pathetic how something so small can be an issue. Anyone who knows me knows I am a hot wing fiend! I have tried hot wings everywhere in town and am known to be pretty downright picky. I prefer all flats, but I have friends who like the drums, so we get along just fine to split an order. I love them saucy and I prefer homemade ranch dressing to blue cheese, but if I wanted blue cheese, I would require it be homemade as well. Saks Wing Shak is one of those down home places that just does wings right. Order the jumbos - they are fat and flavorful and swimming in sauce, I like the hot sauce, but I'm sure any of their sauces are good. While they don't serve homemade ranch dressing, they are the perfect wings to take home and use your own dressing. I've never been disappointed with the wings - so, if you love drippy, saucy, hot, flavorful wings, Saks is definitely worth the drive thru. read more

I ordered for pick up and when I get there I waited in front of the drive thru window for a couple minutes and nobody was there (they were not working). Then I asked the lady that was outside and she told me someone will be right there. The other lady that came in the window was really rude. She didn't want to speak clearly (too lazy to do anything) and when I asked her to repeat her question she just handed me my order harshly and slammed the window. I got great customer service Saturday night. Thank you for the awesome treatment Deborah . My favorite thing was the fried catfish tenders. Really good flavor, crispy, hot, and delicious. I also tried the lemon pepper wings and the hottest wing flavor (I think it's xhot). Flavor on both was good, however, the hot wings aren't very hot. I like things really spicy tho, so maybe others would view it different. The wings are small in size, but they were crispy and cooked well. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the fries. They were pretty soggy. My other food items were done better. I'll be back there for more catfish, just skip the fries. read more

The food is decent but the light-skinned old lady (owner?) is EXTREMELY RUDE. She has a very bad attitude. She pops her gum and wags her finger and talks really sassy-like. She rushes people to order. If you don't want people to take too long to order in the DRIVE THRU, then don't put 48 items on the menu! It's suppposed to be a wing shak, so when people get there and realize you sell way more than wings, it might take them a minute to decide. You should never rush a PAYING CUSTOMER. WE ARE YOUR LIVELIHOOD. Once I've used all my groupons, I won't be going back there. Also, if you actually like your wings HOT, then you'd better ask for extra hot, because their "hot" is more like mild.
