Shaggy Dog Roll

What a great place to eat. We had both of our favorites, Chinese and Sushi! The General Tso's Chicken was amazing and our Shaggy Dog roll was great. Cute little restaurant, we will definitely be back soon.

This was my first time trying Taste of Asia, and I stopped in on my way home from an evening…read moremeeting. Overall, it was a good experience with a few standout items and a couple areas that could be improved. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and steamed shrimp dumplings. The shrimp with lobster sauce was definitely the highlight...very flavorful, generous portion of shrimp, and I really enjoyed the texture from the egg whites. I could have done without the imitation lobster, but it didn't take away too much from the dish. The steamed shrimp dumplings were just okay. Not bad by any means, but they didn't stand out compared to others I've had. The fried rice was tasty, though I did miss having the traditional vegetables mixed in. Service is where there's some room for improvement. I was the only dine-in customer at the time, and my water was never refilled during the visit. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would come back to try more dishes. With a few small tweaks, this place could easily become a go-to spot.

The Chicken Fried rice was trash and the General Tsos Chicken was trash, the Egg Rolls were trash. Your business is trash. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.- One bite of food from each item I ordered was enough to send it all to the trash. Your restaurant sucks and you know it, SHUT IT DOWN. I would rather go on a hunger strike than eat here, if someone offered me free Taste of Asia for life I would have to assume they were my enemy. My order arrived less than 5 min ago and it is already all in the trash. Your punishment should be to eat your own food.

One of the perks of moving to Cypress? Duck n Bao! I've passed by the Humble location dozens of…read moretimes while making a mental note to return for Peking duck, so who would have thought my entry to Duck n Bao would be via soup dumplings, a Sichuan dish, and Kung pao brussel sprouts for takeout. Not me, that's for sure, but after a long day this proved to be an incredibly welcome dinner! The soup dumplings were plump and savory. The Kung pao Brussels sprouts slightly sweet and sour, and the spicy, crispy, chicken...well it'll numb your mouth, and it will be worth it. Somehow they've found the sweet spot (not literally) by creating that classic Sichuan tongue numbing spice, without creating a spicy dish per se. Apart from the numbness, the dish reads more savory than anything else. I do wish the dumplings came with either dumpling sauce, chili crunch or both, and that the crispy spicy chicken came with something to coat the rice (it's a bit dry with steamed rice alone), but all and all, I enjoyed everything I ordered and will certainly be returning for the full dine-in experience.

The uniqueness of the menu options is what caught my eye. I placed an order on Uber eats and I…read morewas hopeful that I would enjoy all the options I chose. The food came within the original stated timeframe, which was a plus. As for the food; everything was delicious and I will definitely order again. My only complaint is there no plates, flatware, sauces or napkins provided. Luckily I ordered in a place where I had those times available.

North Harbor Bistro is a nice little Chinese restaurant in Cypress. I just love the little elegant…read moredecor of spots like this, kitschy Chinese decor, elegant tiny chandeliers and thick wood tables. I've had a number of good meals here over the years. Unfortunately this time it wasn't great. First off, the fried wantons they bring to the table were stale and tasted like they'd been fried in old oil. I like places that bring free stuff but don't bring something if it isn't good. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and get hot and sour soup. It was a good spice/hot but Not sure about the sour. It seemed to just be hot. For my entree I had Shrimp with Garlic sauce and white rice,. The veggies were crunchy and fresh. The shrimp was good but they didn't have that crisp snap in the bite. The sauce was sweet and garlicky. The cheese puff was very creamy, batter was okay not the best. It's just not my style. My wife had the wan ton soup. It had a good tasty broth and the wanton had a good thick wrap with a nice flavor. She didn't like her Orange Chicken. I tasted it and the chicken was okay, but the sauce was too dark and heavy. I just like my orange chicken lighter and with more orange- y- ness? She got fried rice and I thought it wasn't flavorful enough. It tasted like white rice that was coated with soy sauce and not fried enough. My daughter had a bowl of Egg Drop soup. It was very thick and eggy. The corn was a surprising addition. It was okay but would have benefited from some chili oil, which wasn't provided and we didn't ask for. Overall, the entire experience was disappointing. The service was good but the food was mediocre, the restaurant was kind of warm bordering on hot and the table felt sticky. Don't think I'll be back and that's a sad thing. I'll have to find another spot for Chinese food in the area.

Upon arrival I was greeted with a friendly welcome and they politely ask how they can help. Great interaction with the staff. Ordered the Singapore noodles and when I opened it I was thinking oh there is a curry smell to it. Didn't know Singapore noodles had a seasoning like such. Doesn't matter, it was delicious! The noodle and protein ratio was spot on. Good amount of egg, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was even well seasoned! Definitely want to go back to dine in and try more dishes. It will determine a 3 or 5 star then
