The night I went here was really due to a Yelp Elite invite I had gotten for the Flip Circus nearby at the back parking lot for the outlet mall next to the restaurant. Figured it would be too late for dinner after the show so I went before and am glad that I did! Easy to find on the east side of the outlet mall and right off of the old Hempstead Highway, now 290. I was there at 5:30 and only a few people inside dining or having a drink. My server was Everado and he was great. I ordered a glass of the Imagery Pinot Noir. I was in real luck as it was Happy Hour with some great discount prices on several of their appetizers, sushi and sashimi. I decided to try the soft shell crab appetizer and it came out so quickly. It was crispy and super fresh, perfectly paired with the wine I had ordered. I love Japanese restaurants like this, especially when they aren't supper busy. You can take your time, order a thing or two and peruse the menu and pick something else at your leisure. My next treat was one of their "signature appetizers" and it was great, what was described on the menu as a tuna and salmon martini! Wow, it tasted as good as it looked and not only had fresh sashimi slices of tuna and salmon but also meaty escolar. In the center was a creamy mix of wasabi, ginger topped with some tobiko, the small orange fish roe. Talk about a real culinary treat! Next up was a special house roll called the Pink Lover Roll which was a roll with chopped spicy salmon, tuna, yellow tail, tempura jalapeno and avocado with spicy mayo, eel sauce and honey wasabi. The portion was huge and really could have fed 2 people. I enjoyed it but found the sauces over the top a bit too much. It was spice but not too hot. Glad I tried it but would opt for something different next time and surely not as large! Last thing ordered was the Hibachi Combo Yakisoba dinner entree. Had it not been for the large previous roll I ate I would have devoured this as it was fresh off the hibachi grill and full of shrimp and beef as well as a lively assortment of crisp vegetables. It came with a pleasant miso soup, the perfect thing between courses. Alas, I ended up taking half of my yakisoba home for a future lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and sharp. You can sit at at table, booth or at the bar, I chose a table. Restrooms were clean and easy to find. In the end my lovely dinner was just under $100 plus a 20% tip for great service so not a place you might go to casually in regard to cost but still worth the trip as everything was fresh and well presented. read more

Even the miso was delicious! I ordered to go from Yelp, and was happy to see my order was ready upon arrival. By the time I got home, everything was still warm. The crab puffs were perfectly fried. The dream roll was perfection in both texture and flavor. Again, even the miso was delicious. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was the garlic edamame, but that's me and my personal preference of how heavily they're spiced (I like it heavy on the spice). All the hibachi (meat, rice and veggies) was cooked/seasoned with was salt, pepper and soy sauce. Disappointing since the plate is $36. Their hibachi room looks like a storage space and that they do not cook hibachi really at all. They had to check and see if someone was available to cook hibachi? Odd. Don't think I've ever had hibachi with no flavor. We eat it often and haven't had that problem yet til now. Bathrooms and space was very clean. I did appreciate that. read more

We ordered sushi, grilled beef ribs, and the shrimp tempura bento box. The rice in the sushi is pretty dry, though the fillings + miso soup on the side were ok. The batter used for the tempura was pretty bland, and the ribs were on the tougher side. In terms of food, nothing really stood out. Ive gone to this place a couple times and the sushi has been good. We went the other night for dinner and had a different experience. The service was slow, we got the bento boxes for dinner. The crab rangoon tasted like burnt rubber to me. They forgot the sauce for the tempura. Our food was served warm like it had been sitting in the back for a lengthy amount of time before being brought out. Discovered this gem near the Premium Outlet in Cypress. This is me and my husband's newest favorite date night restaurant in Cypress. Facts: No soy sauce needed. Favorite: The scallop, albacore tuna, red snapper, foie gras eel, and fatty tuna are all melt in your mouth buttery. The noodles are the right consistency and thickness to slurp down. The broth is light and flavorful without that weird stuck-at-the-back-of-your-throat feeling. The small beef slices were soft to bite into. Would make the drive to eat this udon again! 4.5/5 California Rolls - There were equal portions of the fresh crabmeat, avocado and cucumber. Had lunch here & ordered their Lunch Special - Bento Box & 2 Sushi Rolls. Place is clean & bright. Service was quick & our server was attentive. We had miso soup to start & it was pretty good. The rolls we got were the Houston roll & the California roll. It was fine & as expected. Wasabi was a little weak. I'm finding that this is a recurring issue now. The Bento box had shrimp tempura & veggie tempura. It also had these cream cheese filled wontons that we didn't try. Overall, it was a decent enough place & filled our bellies. This place is now the best in cypress. Tops all other sushi places in cypress on food and service. Everardo is one of the severs and he is amazing. Constantly running around making sure customers are taken care of. If there's one thing I can say is their sushi chef Jeffery is awesome, let him just make a plate for you of sushimi and you won't be disappointed. Joann the owner is always so polite and welcoming every time I come to eat and it's not just with me. I've sent several people to eat here and it's the same response, always satisfied! I had family in town, and they were carving Japanese for dinner, so we went to Tomiko's. I'm kicking off the review with 1 star on service. The place wasn't busy when we arrived, so we got seated quickly. And from there, service went downhill. First, they only gave a single menu and said to look at the menus to go online. After deliberating over what to order, we (a party of 6) finally nailed it and patiently waited for the and waited, waited, waited, and waited. I notice 2 servers and many bussers. I went to the hostess to tell our server we were ready to order... again waited and waited. Another server was standing near the POS machine; we asked him can he help, and he yelped that's not my table; that was the other guy, and abruptly when on his way. That tipped me over, and I finally said something out loud and rude about his actions. Our server came around and took our order, and the sushi and bento box was pretty good ... I gave the food 3 stars. To the owner /management, you need to have more servers for the establishment so the local supporters continue coming; you also need to check your server's attitude when dealing with paying customers who waited patiently to get attended to. read more

The ambience is nice and they often have daily or special rolls on their blackboard at the entrance. My favorite. Place. Ever. There's chicken yakatori is the best appetizer along with their gyoza (our two go tos). The service is always spot on and usually it's never too packed where you're having to wait more than 10 minutes if that. Our personal favorites are the filet Habbachi and the cucumber roll and tuna tower. Their Terriaky sauce is sooo good too, there's nothing here that I can complain about. read more

Random Saturday dinner and a movie date started off with Tomiko. A great little sushi bar right next to the Cypress Outlets. We went around 5PM and didn't have to wait to be seated at all. The service was quick and speedy and everyone was really friendly. I ordered the crab puffs as an appetizer because they're my favorite thing ever. Perfectly creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I also got the small sale cause it was happy hour, $3 like the crab puffs. First time trying wale and it was just okay. Everyone has their own taste for alcohol though. Main dishes were split between me and my girlfriend. Louisiana roll was fantastic. Crawfish, spicy mayo, and a crispy fried outside. Lisa crunch roll had crunchy bits on it and was also phenomenal. Dream roll was a great addition as well featuring some pretty tasty fresh raw fish. All in all the place was a great random decision and to have only spent $40 was a very filling meal for two people. Will have to come back another day and try more new things read more
