We thought this place was really good. It had a lot of choices. They had a whole big sushi selection in front which i thought was pretty good. They had hot and cold shrimp/crawfish, etc. Plus lots of veggies, salad bar, dessert bar, lots of things for kids to eat. Best Chinese Buffett I've had in Savannah. The sushi selection is huge. Lots of seafood, hibachi too! Ten dollars weekdays and 12 on the weekends. First time here, came for lunch on a sat. The sheer size of this place compared to other buffets we have had this far in ga, we knew we had scored..lots of choices. However I really dislike the constant use of imitation crab in all things crab related. I also dislike sashimi with bones, and low quality tuna. Yes I'm from L.A., yes I'm a bit sushi spoiled, but I don't require Nobu to be happy, and I will gladly pay over 20 bucks for a buffet with great food....this place was eh. The several times we have visited here while on vacation, my husband and I have stuck to this place after the first time we tried it! The food there has been really good each time we visited. It stays pretty well stocked with fresh food during the times we've been there. The only reason I've given it a 4 star is because we are usually there on a Saturday and well, Saturdays tend to be a little more crowded at most places. And it doesn't make for a great atmosphere when trying to find just the right table or navigate a "buffet". But over-all we always visit this place when we are in town. read more

This place is decent for the price. The sushi buffet is awesome. I'm always tempted to just eat sushi but it's hard when they have all the other Chinese Buffett cuisine. The other stuff is ok, not the best but it's good enough to satisfy. Mongolian bbq is also pretty excellent, the steak they use is tender and delicious. So we all remember the buffet and hibachi restaurant that used to be here that got repeatedly shut down...well a new buffet has opened in its place. The interior looks exactly the same on the inside as the old one. It costs about $8 to eat here and there is a sushi bar included so theoretically you get all you can eat sushi for $8. That's a ridiculously good deal considering they also have nigiri. I thought the Salmon nigiri was pretty good but I didn't like their tuna and tuna is usually my favorite. They do a bad job labeling what everything is so it's a mystery what you are eating sometimes. This isn't like the other buffets where they charge you an extra $5-$10 for crab legs, but I don't think they have any. They do have stuffed shrimp and other seafoods. Their sweet and sour chicken is decent ( I think some people call them chicken poppers if this rings a bell to anyone). As for their other food it was good not great. Definitely had better sesame and general Tzo chicken at other restaurants. Didn't try any of the American food such as the wings or fries. I did try the buttered yeast rolls and they were very good. The desserts were the best. They don't know how to make non-dried out cake. However, there was a very sweet strawberry square that was very good. All in all, this isn't a terrible place. You get what you paid for, and $8 is next to nothing. The food could be better but it's a buffet so it's not going to be 5 star dinning. Will definitely go here again unless I hear another health scare coming from this location. It's only been open for a few weeks so time will only tell. If you're the type of person who goes to a buffet when it opens and then doesn't leave for 8 hours to "get your money's worth" and to get your day's worth of meals for the price of one, then this is the place for you because there were a lot of people doing this. Pretty obvious when you just sit there the entire time without a plate on your table but you have Chinese food sauce all over your face and the waiters keep staring at you because you're taking up another customer's table. My favorite buffet in savannah ga! Love the huge selection of great tasting food! Anything from sushi, blue crabs and crawfish to chinese, to Japanese food. The hibachi grill is great too, were they cook the raw food you select right in front of you. The only thing that bothered me is one evening a few weeks ago, my sister and I were there enjoying ourselves and our server was very rude. I was eating only the whole blue crab, which I can eat a dozen to myself because these were small females with very little meat in them so I ate maybe 12. She stared at me and continued to walk past our table the whole time. We were there maybe a hour and I guess she didn't like it. I'm a server too and I know the ins and outs of the server world. Well, I finished up and she noticed that, so she stood at my table waiting for me to pay the bill. She picked up the money I put on the dish the bill was on, and counted it as I was still sitting at table finishing up my tea. That was the rudest I had ever been treated in a restaurant!! She didn't like the amount of crabs I was having so I was treated like a criminal!! I wish I had got her name, because I go here pretty often. The best sushi I've ever had was from Sakura. It was so good I went back for seconds and barely looked at anything else I had otherwise. I like the variety of foods. It's definitely a something for every taste kind of place. Two exceptions and reason I didn't give it 5 stars. One, is because there are no really palatable vegetable options for young children. A few simple, recognizable to American kid veggies with less seasoning would be nice. Less is definitely more and in short order here. Even the green beans were not an option because of the "weird" (to a little one) seasonings. Not great because just pizza and dessert is not what I want my grandchild to eat. Two, few of the desserts besides pudding and jello are very good. I agree those little cakes are not-so-good. My first time there, there was a really good chocolate option. The next two times, dry, unimpressive little cakes with little flavor or appeal. Last time I was there I just had fruit for dessert. Overall, place is good. read more

Absolute worst restaurant I have been at in Savannah, GA. My husband and I are in town to see my brother off before deployment and he recommended we try Sakura out. I am an Army veteran and I have a Service Dog. My husband is also active duty Air Force. Our dog is trained and whenever we go out to eat, I keep her in her carrier to keep others from being uncomfortable. I keep all of her health records, Service Dog Certifications, and vest on at all times when she is out. Upon arriving to Sakura, the "owner" told me I needed to take my pet and leave. I informed him that she is a Service Dog and she has her records, he rudely grunted and walked away. I could tell he was uncomfortable so I got my things ready to leave, leaving my husband and brother to eat their meals since they had already made their plates. In the process, a woman and her toddler son came up and tried to play with my dog. She immediately put her nose down and backed away. The woman's son continued to bang on her screen so she let out a small bark, letting him know to leave. The rude "owner" then walked up to my husband and brother, who were eating there greasy buffet food, and told them they needed to leave because they didn't want to serve us. We calmly left and now I am writing this review. I called the restaurant and explained to "the owner" that it is illegal to turn away a certified Service Dog and he continued to tell me, "If I feel a dog is wild, I can choose to not serve you." Awful Experience and rude wait staff. The young "hostess" also grunted and smirked saying, "That ain't no Service Dog." on our way out. ZERO STARS. Taking our business elsewhere. read more
