    Shrimp dumplings or Shu-mai. Yum!
    Petra B.

Just found this place so awesome!! It's small and cozy but the food is amazing. My son begged to go back the next day lol. We had the shrimp dumplings, shrimp and chicken yakisoba, and the spider roll and crunchy roll. All delicious!! This is a new favorite for us.

Delicious food, affordable, friendly service. Off the beaten path, but worth seeking out.

I have gone here and they are my favorite Steak House in Savannah but they close early sometimes and it makes it difficult to get there.

We had their crispy spicy tuna appetizer with crispy square rice on the bottom and they were so good. For the main entree I ordered their butabara kimchi ramen and it was what I needed, the broth was rich, savory, and the kimchi really brings the broth flavor more dimensional. The ramen noodle texture was cooked to perfection and the pork belly paired so well in this ramen. My husband ordered the A5 wagyu rib eye and the steak melt in your mouth. We sprinkle the sea salt and dipped it in the quail yolk dashi juice and it was perfection! It is definitely a gem restaurant for Savannah! Truly amazing food experience!

There's a great selections of Japanese Whiskey, Sake and cocktails. We had a reservation and when we entered it was a bit confusing with people all over the place in the entrance not sure whether waiting to speak to the hostess or just casually waiting to be called for their table. After getting sorted we spoke to the hostess and then were shortly seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders right away. We got 2 cokes and a Whiskey Sour with Japanese Whiskey. After waiting about 15 min the waiter came back to take our food order, however we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked and said they were coming swiftly. Finally after 10 minutes later our drink orders came in. The cokes were flat but the Whiskey Sour was really good. I can't remember the waiters name but honestly she came by maybe 4 times the whole night and did not have the best attitude. The best thing about Ukiyo hands down was the food. Everything from the Ramen to the wagyu bao buns, just Wow. The wagyu was so crispy and just melted in your mouth. The ramen had amazing flavor profiles and was perfectly spiced. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage and this was so tender with the citrus mayo. This was also pretty big so were easily filled with all these dishes. The food and cocktails were amazing but the service really did disappoint from the delays and infrequent interactions.

Fantastic Ramen and Excellent Service!…read more We had a wonderful experience at Sushi Zen! We started with the edamame and then tried both the Shoyu Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen. Both were outstanding. The Shoyu had a wonderfully rich, savory soy-based broth, while the Tonkotsu pork broth was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. You could really taste the depth of flavor in both bowls. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming--and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Great food, great service, and great value. Sushi Zen is definitely a place we'll be coming back to. Five stars!

Sushi: I was chowing down of their Deluxe Platter and enjoying it. Really good Toro, Black Snapper, couple others. But one of my last three pieces was mackerel and it was BAD. I shouldn't have swallowed it, the moment it was in my mouth I could tell it had turned, but I'd been drinking saki and thought "What the hell? How bad can this be?" Welllllll....in about five minutes I was puking my guts out in the restaurant's bathroom. Not good. When I got out, the waiter brought the check and hovered over me, making sure I tipped at least 20% after they just made me pay for food that made me barf. I kept belching and dry heaving through the night at home, repeatedly the taste of bad mackerel urping up in my throat. A top flight sushi chef would've caught that mackerel and pulled it from market, or, worse, the gave the piece to me KNOWING it was bad. I'll prefer to think he's just not a top flight sushi chef, as opposed to a malevolent one. But most of the pieces were good-to-excellent and the service was friendly and nice up to that point. I would probably eat here again, just be more careful about what I order.
