A typical hibachi restaurant. Sakura is run like a military operation with an army of employees: servers, cleaners, hostesses, chefs, and even a robot. However, with so many employees, our time at Sakura felt incredibly rushed. From the fast live-cooking performance, to the waiter quickly bringing us the check and continuously glancing at our table to see if we were wrapping up--all of that rushed service was just for average food. The sashimi was thick; I've never seen sashimi so thick before. The fish didn't melt in your mouth, though it tasted good enough. Skip the potstickers, as they tasted like any frozen bag you could get at the grocery store. The steak and filet mignon tasted good but were drenched in soy sauce. The hibachi room was overly loud, making it hard to hear anyone. I would skip Sakura if you're looking for a more Japanese styled restaurant for sushi unless you're in for a hurried show. Side note: While this didn't affect us, it was surprising to see the chef use the same tools to cook the raw meat, fish, and vegetables. This is a major health concern, especially since they didn't ask about any allergies or dietary restrictions at the beginning.

One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The restaurant is very modern, beautiful decorations, relaxing ambient music, everything you would expect from an upscale Japanese restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive, and when we said that we were in a bit of a rush and couldn't spend much time, the manager came over to us to let us know that they were putting a rush/priority in our food -- extremely considerate action that was totally not necessary but greatly appreciated! The sushi was phenomenal -- fresh fish, good flavoring, melt in your mouth. I really enjoyed the Las Vegas roll -- would seriously recommend.

Oct 4, 2025. Early afternoon dinner. No waiting for a hibachi table. No reservations taken 3 adults and 2 young boys that have adventurous palates. My daughter ordered 2 sushi rolls. Dan and I had the hibachi filet mignon and the bits both ordered salmon hibachi. Our waitress was quick and efficient We all liked the onion soup but I would refer normal noodles not those hard wheat ones. Our chef had a good attitude did a good show. However the last squirt of soy sauce on the rice by daughter felt was too much and she was right best too much soy sauce flavor. Overpowering. More vegetables are needed. It's only mushroom, onion and zucchini. How about some peas, some broccoli. Or more. The fried rice also needs peas or more egg. It was just tiny bit of egg and no Veges. The filet mignon were perfect. The salmon was fresh and fantastic. No oily taste. Amber said her sushi rolls were ok. Not as good as what we get in California

Service was good. Wait staff was friendly. We were seated with a couple around 830pm. Fried rice was ok. So then some concerns. The couple seated next to us had ordered salmon. The cook put the raw chicken, salmon, shrimp and steak right next to each other. The cook was using the same tools to turn over the raw meat and then would touch the vegetables right after. That's not good nor safe. The salmon got somehow fused with some shrimp and the smell of overcooked salmon permeated the air. Unfortunately the shrimp was not edible as the fishy salmon was stuck all over the shrimp. We didn't eat the shrimp a the head person there asked us if there was anything wrong and I said I just didn't like it. She did offer to remove it from our bill but we declined (we didn't ask for it to be removed). I appreciate the attempt though. Fee birthday desert was nice.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The atmosphere and vibe here are beautiful, such a fun and lively spot for dinner. We went for hibachi, and everything from start to finish was spot on. We started with edamame, which came out hot, fresh, and delicious. I ordered a Blue Hawaiian, served in the cutest mermaid/fish-scale style glass, such a fun touch! For dinner, I had the filet and lobster with fried rice, while my husband had the filet with fried rice and noodles (yes, you pay extra for fried rice/noodles, but it's 100% worth it). We also got yum yum sauce (called shrimp sauce here), and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh. Our chef was personable, funny, and really made the dinner feel like an experience, not just a meal. Since we mentioned it was our anniversary trip, the staff surprised us with a chocolate-drizzled cheesecake platter, so thoughtful and a perfect sweet ending. Overall, Sakura was a fantastic stop: excellent food, fun atmosphere, great service, and not overpriced. We'll definitely come back when in St. George. Five stars all the way!

I really enjoyed this place. It was our first time trying it. It had a very cool atmosphere. They had one of those robots delivering food and to go boxes. The food was cooked to perfection. It was very flavorful. We enjoyed all of it. We will definitely be back.

But what truly sets Sakura apart is the owner. They care so deeply about their customers and their craft -- it shows in every single detail. The owner is one of the kindest, most genuine humans you'll ever meet. They remember faces, go out of their way to make guests feel special, and treat everyone like family. It's not just a meal here -- it's an experience. Warm atmosphere, phenomenal service, and food that keeps you craving more. I'd give it ten stars if I could. I ordered a to go meal while visiting St George and will definitely be back!! The portions are large and we enjoyed every bite! Food we ordered: - 2 piece shrimp sushi - 2 piece salmon sashimi - Philly roll - shrimp teriyaki with miso soup, salad, and steamed white rice. The food quality was fantastic and you could definitely tell that the fish was very fresh. Our only complaint was the packaging with the sauces was not very secure so when we brought the bag back, there was sauces leaking all over which was a bummer and difficult to clean up. They have plastic containers. I wish they would've used instead of Styrofoam to help fix this from happening again. The food was ready at the time. The staff was super friendly when we called to ask about gluten friendly options. All in all this place was fantastic and we will come back here next time we are in St. George.

St. George isn't known for fine cuisine, but Sakura is working to change that. It's smartly located right off a freeway exit and has good signage for visibility. Getting there is a wee bit tricky; they are at the end of a road with a ridiculous amount of street parking that makes you feel like you've wandered into a car lot. But once you get past all of that, you find a private parking lot and a cherry tree lined walkway to the front door. Sure, the cherry blossoms are fake, but they do look nice, especially with the red rocks in the background. Have some imagination with me. The decor is beautiful and inviting as you enter into the lobby area. Staff members cheerfully greet you and offer hibachi or dine-in service. In my opinion, hibachi is the way to go-it's a meal and a show! Our experience was great, and the food was terrific. We had a variety of chicken and beef along with ample veggies, soup and rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously. My family and I enthusiastically recommend Sakura and will happily return when we are in town again.

Jokingly, I wish I could say 0 out of 5 stars because the higher it's rated, the more people congregate. However, that wouldn't be accurate, or polite. There was a line out of the door when we arrived. That should let you know how good this place really is. The girls at the front counter were extremely kind and efficient, too. They greeted us with a smile, and every other person who walked through the door after us, as well. James was our server, he was considerate of me and my spouse, and also other tables around him that he wasn't even serving for. We couldn't decide between a few different rolls, so we asked him to just surprise us. He truly made our anniversary dinner enjoyable. We sat at the sushi bar and were able to watch them make so many rolls for so many people. Watching them work the sushi line was amazing, working as quickly as they could, but the food did not seem as though they rushed it. Everything was delicious! *Ahem* (No one go here, it's bad. Very, veeeery bad for youuu...) Lol, jk.

This must be a go-to spot for locals for their hibachi/sushi needs. I came with my family for vacation and many tables were already full when they opened for dinner. The interior is beautiful, clean, and very spacious. We were able to be seated immediately for non-hibachi. The sushi is mainly crab meat/spicy tuna rolls with different fish on top. I wish there was more variety in fillings and flavors. You typically get 10 pieces per roll unless otherwise stated so you get a good meal with 1-2 rolls. I would recommend the albacore tuna sashimi/nigiri and the St. George roll.

We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stop in for dinner. Even on a busy night the wait was fast and we were seated in less time than the hostess predicted. I can't say enough great things about our experience. The sashimi is some of the best I have ever had. Super fresh and huge pieces! You definitely get your moneys worth. The wide variety of rolls is impressive and the two we had were exceptional. The service was wonderful. From the hostess to our waiter we were completely taken care of. Everyone was extremely polite and accommodating. I will absolutely be coming back!

Ate at Sakura for dinner. We ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try as much as we can. We had the Ebi Sashimi, Tamago Sashimi, Spider Roll, Buta Bara Kushi, Chicken Katsu, and Steak & Chicken Combination. Service was good even though it was a busy night. Parker was attentive and answered all our questions. The restaurant was big and interior was kept clean. We had such a good dining experience.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in St. George. Have been going here for years. This was my first time at the new location and was blown away with the service, decor, and the restaurant all together. Had a larger group, we came for lunch on a Friday and were seated quickly for the hibachi. There are so many seats, definitely what they needed. The food was hot and delicious as always. We visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night. The wait was around 35 minutes. Restaurant is clean & welcoming. Steak was decent & juicy, sushi was fresh & good. Love the house fries rice & teriyaki noodle. Overall this is great place to have friends & family meals, price is very reasonable too read more

Sakura, they don't have egg foo young but I will forgive them for that ~smile~ we've gone twice .. sushi very good, tempura my go to ...equally good, soup flavors nicely made...I don't care for teriyaki but the salmon was great....oh and the egg rolls and crab Rangoon, edamame... yes .... OH and do get the simple salad ... dressing just fits and works for the meal.... read more

This place came highly recommended to us by a friend of mine who lives in the area but hasn't been to this new location. I was happy to report back with a positive review! Even though they were busy, my party of four was seated at a hibachi table without delay. Coming from Denver and Seattle, we are probably used to higher prices, but everything was exceedingly reasonably priced; none of the hibachi entrees exceeded $30. We all got the shrimp & filet mignon, but some of us opted for noodles over the fried rice. While the rice is good, the noodles are the thing to get here; they're tender, properly seasoned, and honestly some of the best I've ever had. Same goes for the filet mignon; I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked properly for sure. Every bite melted in my mouth. The building is very nice and decorated in an esthetically pleasing manner. Everything was very clean and nice, including the bathrooms. The drinks were great and priced well too. Went here because I was craving sushi and this is one of the top-rated place that's still open... It was pricey, and the food was not incredible in my opinion. +1 star for nice and friendly staffs though (although it seems like our server kinda tried to upsell us on everything) The sushi: to put it nicely, it was pathetic. It was overly small for its price, we can barely see the ingredients. Like for example: I ordered Luetz roll and one other roll (which I forget) but Luetz roll supposed to have crab, shrimp, and "crunch" tempura (which is nice way for tempura scraps). I can't see a single "crab" or "shrimp" that were supposed to be in the sushi nor can I taste it. All I can see and taste is....the tempura scraps. Which is the cheapest ingredients out of all. I mean, really? Baked scallops: yeah, this one is a big no. It smells awfully fishy, tasted awfully undercooked and watery, has no other ingredients but small scallops drenched in mayo and sriracha. I'm glad we didn't get sick after eating this. Very dubious. read more

2nd in a row they "did not have" our reservation. This time I showed them the call and they could not give a hibachi about my documentation. I'm sure the food is decent but they have to get their reservation act together. BE FOREWARNED. if you're a family, check out alternatives. The cute hello kitty atmosphere only goes so far and this is BS. NOT SURE HOW TO SAY THAT IN HIBACHI. But stop using your customers as pawns. read more

We lucked out and got seated in the private dining room: it was great to have our own space and it made for a ver authentic Japanese experience. Everything was really good but my favorite part was the very, very generous high grade sashimi. I could tell it was very fresh and even the white fish had no "fishy" after taste. As an out of town traveler I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The place was busy!!! Lots of families, but things seemed to be very efficient. We were able to get a table (non teppanyaki) after a short wait. As a group of 3 we shared a sushi boat and that was ample food for us. Sashimi were fresh and generous slices. Sushi was also great- sushi rice was well seasoned and kept its shape well. Service was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely plan to be back and try the teppanyaki side next time I'm in town. read more

We really love this place. The majority of the staff love to see little kids having a blast at the table. The chefs really have gone out of their way to make my kids birthdays or special occasions really special. The food is usually really good and if you go at lunch time, it's super affordable. Unfortunately they do not take reservations on weekends, I wish they would change that. We have been and had to wait a couple hours. Luckily they text you and you can see your status so you can run some errands while you wait. The sushi is always great and so are the tempura veggies! Those are my two go tos. read more

The wait was long we were told 40ish mins and 1 hour and 15 mins later we were seated. Once seated it was like 20min wait to order. Order a appetizer and it never came. Food was ok. Very salty and salad was more like a soup. The ambitious is great. The guy that cooked was fun. And nice bathrooms. read more

Our server was so thoughtful and the food was TOP TIER!! The sushi was well prepared, I had the Flaming lips roll, Alaska roll, and Crunch roll and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. The Alaska roll did have a strong salmon flavor. The restaurant was so fun to be in with the decorations, the staff uniforms, and the packaging for leftovers. We visited Sakura for the first time and enjoyed the food. As a Japanese American I have become accustomed to cultural appropriation. The girls wearing kimonos over their jeans and tennis shoes was a little offensive. Having Thai food on the menu was strange in a Japanese restaurant. The food is not super authentic but when a restaurant is not run or owned by a Japanese person then it tends to be so-so. Our server was excellent and our overall experience was good. read more

Sakura has never treated me wrong. I've visited their establishment since before their move into their larger building. The sushi is always fresh and abundant. I've never had a small roll here. The only drawback is the lack of being able to make a reservation, but that is quickly erased by the staff and their professionalism. I highly recommend. (Keep an eye out for the robot delivering sushi) read more

This is *the* sushi spot in St. George. Better than the two Benja's and Kabuto. The first thing to know is that this place is busy! Avoid peak times if you don't want to wait, especially for hibachi. That said, service is friendly and they have a great text system that keeps you updated on your place in line. Lots of lobby seating, inside and out, plus an electronic floor and water features that make the wait a little more bearable. We did hibachi for a birthday. Food and portions were good, but our "show" was a little quicker/simpler than expected. The complimentary cake and candle were great, though. Our kids loved all of the robot waiters driving around, too. We went another time for date night, just for sushi. Service was fast and sushi was fresh! Make sure to try the Mango Tango and the Stott. Both are delicious. Steer clear of the Las Vegas roll, though. It is mostly cream cheese and very disappointing. read more

The new location is such an upgrade! It has plenty of parking, which is great because this place fills up fast. With 12 hibachi tables, it can be a wait, so I recommend making a reservation. The building itself is beautiful and decorated well. I have done both the Sushi bar and Hibachi and both are great options. My favorite is the Hibachi side. It has always been so fun and entertaining. They pull out all the stops from telling jokes, making the fire volcano and throwing shrimp in everyone's mouth. The food is very filling and delicious. I usually order the filet mignon and have never been disappointed. The sushi rolls I have ordered have also been very good and I have a hard time not ordering a roll whenever I go. I definitely recommend coming here during your stay in St. George! read more

this place was happening at 9pm on a Saturday night... and of corse my boyfriend and I came in super hungry ready to eat and the service was amazing. we are from out of town and wish we had Sakura in our town. Fresh food, fast drive and yummy desert. the beautiful decorations and cultural enhancements made it even better. thank you Sakura for making our visit to St George amazing. read more

We are from northern utah and have traveled to many Japanese restaurants throughout the country. We were so excited to try this restaurant. The restaurant is very beautiful. Very professionally run. Wonderful service. Large and had a full house for lunch on a Monday. Still less than 10 min wait. We both purchased shrimp tempura lunch box special which included California rolls and gyoza. Salad and miso were good. Everything after that except for the rice was not what we are used to from other Japanese restaurants. First of all, they do not offer dark meat, chicken teriyaki. Many of the restaurants think they are doing an improvement by only offering white meat. But all the best more traditional restaurants have always served dark chicken which has much more flavor. This is why we went with the tempura. The shrimp was a tiny bit fishy tasting, and not nearly as fresh as what we like. The tempura batter was not as light and fluffy. Was too greasy. California rolls were different than I've ever had before. Different texture in the crab meat and was also fishy tasting. Because I love teriyaki sauce and they didn't offer dark meat chicken teriyaki, I had them bring a side of teriyaki sauce it tasted more like a plum sauce and was a different and darker heavier flavor than I've ever had in a teriyaki sauce. We have eaten at dozens of Japanese restaurants as it is our favorite food, and I've never had a teriyaki sauce like this. It seems like it had a lot of heavy molasses in it, and was lacking in the traditional teriyaki flavor. all in all we were disappointed in the restaurant. It was not on par with even hole in the wall cafés that we have been to in many different states. I'm sure they have a wonderful menu items. And obviously this place does very well. I've been coming here for years. Consistently good service and food. You can't go wrong with the bento box lunches. Large sized miso soup, excellent Teriyaki Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken. Veggies are always crisp tender and flavorful. Bento box comes with rice, gyoza, half a California roll, miso soup, and salad. Staff is wearing masks. Sushi chefs are wearing masks and gloves. Tables did not seemed spaced far enough. Service is quick and they check on you so getting extra sauces is not a wait. read more

New building with ALOT of parking but for a Saturday night it was busy as expected. 45 min wait for dine in (was t concerned with the hibachi show) not bad. 1hr 30 min wait if you wanted the show. Nice lobby and fish tank to keep you occupied while you wait. Service was great. Edamame and one of the best California rolls I've seen. We all ordered hibachi style entrees and where it lost a star for me was paying $30 for the Shrimp/Scallop combo and only receiving 3 scallops. Teriyaki noodles were very sweet and not much flavor to them. Might come back to try their sushi but not sure read more

Good thing we always carry water with us. Then, he asked us each if we wanted forks or chopsticks. He said we couldn't have both (without paying extra), and he looked at us funny when we requested chopsticks. The fish itself was fine, although there was no cabbage (it was just rice), and the portion of fish was small for the charge. One other thing that was odd about the experience. We were there for about a half hour, and while they had a steady stream of customers, I was the only woman. I don't think I've ever been in that situation before, and it felt really creepy. While that's probably not the restaurant's fault, I was so uncomfortable that I don't want to go back, and I especially wouldn't go back if I were alone.

(They don't even bother putting them in the warmer,) You can peek into the kitchen and see the big pile of gross cold dry crapes piles up. No, no, nope! Done. I've even started asking at the front counter if I can get a fresh made one and not one off the pile of premade dry cold flat gross crapes, and both times I've asked, they've told me no, they can't make me a fresh one, I have to get mine off of the cold dried out dead stack. So, there you have it. You've lost me as a regular customer, I'm not coming back--I'm done until you reply to this message, confirm that's no longer the horrible practice, and invite me back. Once that happens, I'll go back, see if you serve me a fresh off the griddle crapes, without asking, so I can remove this post. Bye!

I tended to agree that it was very light in the flavor, I would say almost an imperceptible hint of pesto. We were looking forward to a robust pesto dish. But it was still a good dish! We would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Now for the piece de resistance... The Positano rigatoni. The sauce was rich and flavorful and delicious! Italian sausage was a treat... This is definitely our favorite and for us, the most flavorful. My son's girlfriend has ordered it previously, and we all agreed we understood the recommendation! 5/5. Although we did not dine in, the restaurant is beautiful, light and airy, a very open ambience. Next time I am in town for a visit, we will definitely dine in!

We stopped by Sakura in St. George for lunch and had a solid overall experience. The restaurant itself is quite large, with a separate hibachi section that seemed especially popular. There were quite a few people waiting to be seated there. We arrived around lunchtime and had about a 20-minute wait, which wasn't too bad considering how busy it was. We ended up ordering from the lunch specials, going with the bento boxes. The portions were huge! Honestly, more than we could finish. We tried the steak teriyaki bento and a shrimp noodle bento, and also added a salmon roll. The salmon roll was good, but we were already so full that we couldn't finish much of anything. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was actually delivered by a robot, which was a fun and unique touch. After that, interactions with our waitress were pretty minimal, but toward the end of the meal, other staff members stepped in and were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed to pay and helped us pack up our leftovers, which we really appreciated. As for the food itself, the noodle portion of the shrimp bento was a bit underwhelming, pretty plain and not especially memorable. Since we didn't try a wide variety of sushi, I can't really speak to overall freshness or flavor across the menu. Overall, a good spot for a filling lunch with generous portions, and a fun experience with the robot delivery. You know, I'm not a fan of writing negative reviews... however, I feel like it's necessary! I have been to Sakura on numerous occasions... even before they moved to the larger location that they are currently in. Since the move, they have jacked up their prices and their customer service has gone down the drain, into the sewer! Most the time we go, it's because its for a company meeting and this is where the bossman chooses. This last time, we came i. For my daughter's 18th birthday. Hoping Sakura could make this a special occasion, they did not! First, we asked for a regular table, were told it would be about 20 minutes. Mind you, this is on a Wednesday. We wait 40 minutes only to be told they screwed up and only had a hibachi available or we could wait longer for a regular table. Sat at the hibachi and ordered 4 different sushi rolls... 2 came out at a decent time. The other two didn't come out until we were asking for boxes for our food. They screwed up on the food and missed chicken on a meal... so we had to wait for the kitchen to cook chicken. None of us got a refill on our drinks. And then to top it off, with the shitty service, they had the nerve to charge an automatic $45 tip. Sorry, dinner for 6 people is NOT worth over $300 here! And to top itnoff, it's February aka winter. Sad when it's colder in the restaurant than it is outside! I will NEVER be back and I no longer recommend this restaurant! The service sucked and the food is no where near worth what they charge! read more

Our recent visit to this St. George gem was nothing short of delightful. Dining in their private room was a special treat, with exceptional dishes like the Teriyaki Salmon and Teriyaki Noodles with Chicken. Our second visit was even more memorable as we tried the hibachi with our grandchildren. The fun digital floor kept the kids entertained, while the impeccable service, entertaining chef, and attentive waiter made the experience truly enjoyable. On our first visit, we explored the dine-in lunch options, including the buta bara kushi (skewered pork belly) topped with teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. The flavors were outstanding, and the balance between meat and fat was perfect. The cucumber sunomono salad was also delicious and refreshing. For the best experience, visit right when they open to avoid the crowds. We can't wait to try more of their dishes. Ok, bare with me guys because this is my first time in a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant. When I walked in that door, I was warmly welcome by the hostess which by the way wears these really cute kimono? The seaweeds soup was amazing. The taste and the flavor of the soup was beyond perfection. I also got the squid salad and it was really good. Couldn't get anything shrimp since I'm allergic :(. Then I got the hibachi chicken and steak with noddles. Don't even get me started on the hibachi because it was so cool on how the chief was cooking. He also gave us a "volcano" vegetable tower with "lava" and it taste heavenly. The music that they played was very lovely and the services was over the top. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good Japanese restaurant to eat. I personally favorite the hibachi cook place. Would definitely come back to this place again. read more

By far, the most authentic, delicious Japanese food in St. George! The owners are from Japan, and the food is always fresh and tasty. They have a sushi bar, teppanyaki, as well as individual tables that serve great dishes, including "boxes" which include your choice of fish/meat/poultry, CA sushi rolls (w/real crab), potstickers, vegetables, plus your soup, salad and rice bowl. Most of the lunch boxes are under $10.00. Dinner prices, of course, will be higher-priced, especially the teppanyaki grillside eating. A lot of food for great prices! They also have liquor license, for those of you interested. They serve lunch and dinner, open 7 days a week. Lunch is served until 2:30pm M-F, and I believe until 4pm on Sat. Only open for dinner on Sun. The staff is very courteous, the restaurant very clean and trendy. Love this place! read more

Shiny Sashimi--Sakura is a good as it gets!!!! On a rare, rainy early Fall afternoon Ms. Jones and her best friend Rock Star husband ran in between raindrops (not wanting to mess up Ms. Jones fabulous hair of course) to this delightful Japanese restaurant in the heart of St. George. Ms. Jones likey! Ms. Jones like A LOT! WONDERFUL service...fast, attentive and accurate. A lovely Japanese atmosphere to include pretty young women in kimonos greeting and seating you. Quiet and serene...if you like Japanese food and are looking for a romantic date night, this is your place. Both of us had sushi and it was incredibly fresh and delicious! Who knew you could find seafood this fresh in the middle of a desert community! We will go back here every single time we visit St. George. Try it, you will LOVE IT! read more

We went for dinner and all three of us thought the meal and the show was fantastic. We didn't bring our kids and soon after we arrived, we wished we had as they would have loved it. It is a bit higher in price than many places around town, but this is a different kind of place--well worth it in my opinion. The restaurant was very clean (VERY important to me) the service was great, the cook (Tommy) was not only fantastic but very entertaining. The food was well prepared and delicious. We left with a big smile and laughed all the way home about the various things Tommy said and did. I'm looking forward to going again. I'd recommend this, hands down, to be one of the better restaurants in town with food quality and entertainment. read more

Sakura is a local restaurant in downtown St. George. It's a Japanese sushi bar/ steakhouse. I met up with some out of town family for a lunch date. I got the salmon box, It came with mouth watering grilled veggies and savory California rolls as a side. It also came with a french onion soup, and a big piece of salmon as the main dish. The salmon was a bit dry, but it had an overwhelming goodness to it. The California rolls were my favorite part of the dish. They were so tasty, fresh crab and avocados, along with some savory wasabi! Eating at Sakura was a great experience! The service was spectacular and the staff were so kind. Will definitely be returning soon. Take your friends out for a fun dinner date, you might have a great time! read more

After driving by Sakura throughout the day while visiting St. George, we decided to drop in for a bite. We both had a hankering for some good sushi. We were seated by a very nice hostess in a very pretty kimono. We felt very welcomed. My wife had her favorite, a California roll and a beer. I decided on the sashimi platter and iced tea. We both thought it was excellent, and the service was unsurpassed. The waitress was nothing short of great. She was not hovering but showed up just as we needed a refill or something else. The platter was a little much food for me, but every bite was a treat. The bill was reasonable and we will definitely be back many times. read more

The food is good. Definitely not authentic Japanese food... and yes, I would know, I lived in Japan for 3 years. Interesting that a Japanese restaurant would have Chinese, Caucasian and Mexican employees but not Japanese employees! This is a fun place with fun Hibachi Chefs but not authentic. Also, it's quite inconvenient that if you wan the all you can eat sushi, you have to sit at the sushi bar and if you want to order off the regular menu you can't sit at the Hibachi tables. So, when you come in with a group of people and some have to sacrifice what they want to order because you can't order certain things in certain areas. read more

A friend came to town before the holidays and we were thinking of where to try something new since I am new to the area. We decided on Sakura and had a fantastic experience from walking in to walking out! I was skeptical because of some of the reviews I had previously skimmed but so so glad we decided to see for ourselves. We. Ate. So. Much. First, our waitress was amazing and played along with my husbands sense of humor which was a bonus. Constant water refills and checking in enough. Went to Sakura with my family. Love the décor but not good for kids. Menu has no originality. They copy it from Samurai 21 and Benja's menus. The food tasted like Samurai but not as good as Samurai and my dad said the Thai food is not as good as Benja's. Overall if you want hibachi and sushi go to Samurai 21 and if you want Thai food go to Benja's. We won't be back until we see originality on the menu. This restaurant is a blessing! Within the past year, ALL of the other local Japanese restaurants in town have really gone down hill. Their taste, presentation, and general quality have become poor. My husband and I have given up all together on sushi in St. George..... until now. Sakura's sushi is WAY better, their Thai dishes are delicious (I highly recommend the Jumbo Shrimp with Masaman Curry), and their Japanese noodle dishes are excellent. Sakura definitely brings to St. George the flavor and satisfaction that this city desperately needs. read more

As an avid sushi lover and fellow local, I can say that Sakura is by far the greatest sushi place in St George. The menu is a great combination of traditional and modern styles of sushi, making its options cater to a wide array of personal preferences. The rice is also very fluffy, seasoned with the perfect amount of vinegar and is portioned just right with the amount of fish. It's truly an enriching experience eating here. I wen to Sakura today with my family. I ordered spicy seafood noodle, it was so yummy, perfect for me. Also my mom ordered some sushi, I got one piece Sakura roll, it was amazing, crispy shrimp, fresh tuna and best eel sauce. I like the sushi and the chef, he is so nice to talked with us, introduce some good stuff and told us some knowledge about the sushi. My dad got hibachi steak, he said it's the best one in the town. I recently ordered takeout from Sakura. While the service over the phone and in-person was great, sadly the food was a total miss. The fried rice was overly oily, and both the steak and chicken were overcooked, with the latter being burnt. Moreover, the salad appeared to be served with unwashed lettuce. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and have no plans to return. read more

If you visit St. George, Utah, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the ultra-clean and authentic Sakura Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi on St. George boulevard. Best sushi I've had the pleasure of eating, prepared by Japanese chefs, served by lovely hostesses in full length Japanese garb. I enjoy perfect sashimi there several times per week. Sakura is a class act in the restaurant business here in little ol' St. George Utah. We don't have a whole lot of really class act restaurants (like our neighbor to the south-Las Vegas) but this is one of the better choice restaurants available to you if you want to enjoy good Asian cuisine read more
