Not my top choice for raw, but SS&B has pretty good happy specials. I like to go for a few apps and a simple roll. Located across the street from HEB, so...no shoppy when hangry. Lol. Just me? Quite large menu, Japanese, Chinese fusion. Loads of rolls, including "signature." Also lots of cooked dishes (e.g., ramen, rice bowls, Chinese entrées, soups, and more). Ambience is very casual. Can get really crowded, especially on the weekends. I can't speak for the service other than the bartenders. I've always sat at the bar and their very friendly.

Great little sushi spot in Lakeway! It's definitely a go to for a lot of people out here. The menu has sushi and Chinese food as well. My parents came to town, so we literally ordered the whole menu lol . The sushi was definitely on point. Fresh and tasty. The noodles here are ridiculous! So good. And you can't go wrong with sweet & sour chicken. I hadn't had that in years, but I was reminded how good it is! Ambiance isn't anything crazy, but it's local, quick and fun! Service was great. Staff are really nice!

Good local place for a quick meal when I'm way too lazy to cook. I ordered the agedashi tofu and the dynamite shrimp and my husband had the pork egg rolls and the tonkatsu original ramen. Everything hit the spot and we will be by again!

Friday night, it was packed. It was also expected. The wait time wasn't bad, 20 min. I got a text when they had a table ready. We sat down and were offered water. A long wait after we had a server come by and we gave her our order. The food didn't take long to come out. It is large portions. I thought I ate about half until I dished the left overs in a box, and realized how much more was actually left. Wow! I ordered the crab rangoons. It's an order of 5 and they are very delicious. I also ordered the orange chicken which came with white rice in a separate small bowl. The orange chicken has a wonderful sauce and some perfectly steamed broccoli. (It did heat very well the next day in the oven) so I really got 2 great meals. Service was slow, took a long time to get our check. We had to ask someone if they could get our server. But it was packed and I'm sure it was just an over sight. They did turn the projectors on and the wall was like a moving aquarium. Very nice scenery to look at. Hope to be back again.

We'd heard good things about the restaurant and finally made it in. I was surprised at how nice the decor was, but thrown off by the cheesy aquarium images on the shades/projector screens that covered two entire walls. I feel like they're confused about how they want to present themselves. Our server took a long time to come over, so I was irritated in the beginning. I almost walked out. We ordered seaweed salad and two rolls. If you're a raw sushi fan, there aren't a ton of options. The seaweed salad was too sweet and it set me up to be disappointed with the sushi, but the sushi was actually really good! The sushi itself brought my review from a 3 to 4. The Fire Angel was loaded with seafood and the eel roll was pretty darn big, too. I recommend sticking to the sushi based on my experience.

Came here for dinner with my husband for the first time, we usually do takeout and it's always been consistently good. We ordered a couple things to share that we normally wouldn't get for takeout to try. Hot & Sour Soup: Not too much on the spicy side but was still very good and had layers of flavors Wonton Soup: Large portion size compared to the hot & sour soup. It came with a very light broth and the wontons were the best part Chinese Cucumber Salad: Was not a fan, the vinaigrette was very light and barely noticeable - wouldn't recommend Seaweed Salad: No complaints, exactly how we expected; fresh and tasty Spicy Garlic Edamame: Loved this, good portion size to share and very tasty Sashimi Salad: Generous portion size; definitely could pass as an entree meal. The fish was fresh and was dressed well, but just wasn't sure how we felt about the strawberries in the salad Cook On Fire Roll: This was one of our favorites, super tasty and flavorful - would highly recommend ordering

    Spicy Garlic Edamame

The garlic edamame is my absolute favorite dish here - it is sooooo flavorful and delicious. The teriyaki chicken wasn't as good as I hoped. I got a spicy tuna roll (not pictured) that was very spicy chopped raw tuna instead of a whole piece. Everyone who works here is so friendly and it was my friends birthday and they brought her a complimentary mochi dessert. Overall a nice place to have lunch with friends!

Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious. And the Carnival Cake... wow! What a way to finish dinner. It wasn't just dessert, it was an entire show and such a fun surprise. Definitely worth ordering at least once! James, our waiter, was awesome. Super attentive, friendly, and always seemed to know when we needed something. He really took great care of us throughout the entire dinner and made the experience even better. I also have to mention something that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine... restaurant bathrooms. They were absolutely immaculate! Clean, spotless, and very well maintained. I always feel like that says a lot about how a restaurant is run. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, amazing sushi, and an all-around excellent experience. Unfortunately, the service was pretty disorganized. Throughout dinner, food meant for the table next to us was brought to our table multiple times. At one point, the table next to us was accidentally given two edamame appetizers. When they pointed out the mistake, they gave the extra one to our table, which we thought was a nice gesture considering all of the mix-ups. Then our bill came and we had been charged for the edamame we never ordered and were specifically given because of their mistake. We had to point it out and ask for the charge to be removed. Mistakes happen, especially during a busy event like Restaurant Week, and I completely understand that. But charging a table for an item they didn't order after your staff specifically gave it to them because of an ordering mistake was pretty frustrating. Overall, the experience just felt much more disorganized than it should have been and took away from the tasty sushi.

It's located inside what I think is a mini golf place (or some kind of entertainment venue haha), and the restaurant itself is hidden behind a bookshelf like a speakeasy. I had never heard of the place before, but I thought the whole concept was SO cool. The omakase itself is incredibly intimate with only a handful of seats, which makes the entire experience feel really personal. Chef and his small team are all so warm and welcoming, and one of my favorite parts was that they actually encourage everyone to get to know each other throughout the meal. It ended up feeling like one big group dinner rather than everyone quietly eating their own meal. My friend and I were even watching the Super Bowl with everyone during our seating, which made the night even more fun! The fish was, of course, phenomenal. Every piece was prepared with so much care and precision, and you could really tell how passionate Chef is about his craft. I'd say the menu falls somewhere in the middle between a super traditional Edomae omakase and a more modern, creative one, which I personally loved. Everything felt incredibly thoughtful without being overly experimental. I also have to give a shoutout to their cocktail program because every drink we had was AMAZING! I don't even think there's a traditional drink menu. Instead, their bartender just asked each of us what kinds of flavors we usually like and created custom cocktails based on our preferences. Every single drink she made for my friends and me was SO good and paired perfectly with the meal. One thing to keep in mind is that each seating is pretty long--we were there for close to three hours! It definitely felt like an experience rather than just dinner, but honestly, the time flew by because everyone was chatting, eating, and having such a great time. It is definitely on the expensive side, but for the quality of the fish, the hospitality, and the overall experience, I thought it was absolutely worth it. One of my favorite little details was that the room is filled with Chef's personal belongings, books, and little collectibles, which makes the space feel so cozy and lived in. He genuinely welcomes guests to ask him about anything in the room, and you can tell he's just such a well-rounded and passionate person. More than anything, this was just such a FUN omakase experience!! If you're looking for something that's intimate, interactive, and a little different from your typical omakase, I can't recommend Toshokan enough!

Once you step inside, the interior immediately transports you to the late‑night streets of Tokyo--moody lighting, intimate vibes, and that cinematic feeling like something special is about to happen. There are 6 seats. My boyfriend and I had such a fun, personal experience. The staff were incredible--warm, engaging, and genuinely excited to guide us through each course. The food itself was delicious, beautifully crafted, and felt customized in a way that made the night feel unique to us. It's the kind of omakase that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering seriously good dishes. I also highly recommend the sake and cocktail pairing. The bartender customizes it based on your preferences. I told her my favorite drink is an espresso martini and she made this really fun espresso, strawberry latte concoction. There is also a special house sake with an homage to the owner's cat. I love those personal details. It's always a great time at Toshokan, and I'll definitely be back again. PS it's a great place to celebrate your birthday or special occasion! They broke out a guitar to serenade me lol
