Today I really felt like some chicken wings which this place has my favorite and of course the brisket pho soup. I also love the fact that you can bring your own alcohol today I decided to bring Saku. You can't really get to close to the fact that they're always busy having a wonderful staff their personal friendly downright loving. That's one thing I love since I'm very personable and I love the fact that I can actually have a conversation with the waitress for a waiter. The food is epic good and that's what I keep returning like a boomerang. I have plenty of water and I enjoy the food is full of flavor and I just dive right in when they bring the food out especially the chicken wings I swear I eat so much chicken wings I think I'm growing feathers. This is beside a Japanese restaurant I went to a couple of days ago. They had good reviews so I decided to check them out. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and asked if I'm ready to order. The place is clean with simple design. I ordered beef basil fried rice. While waiting, the server asked if I wanted water while waiting. Simple gesture goes a long way and that's customer service for you. The food came out quick and hot. It tasted good and has good amount of beef slices. My first time here. My friend had been here once before. And she wanted to show me where it was. I ordered the pad Thai and coconut shrimp. Both were good. I would have rather had a sweet saucer with the coconut shrimp. But other than that. It was pretty good. The shrimp was flavorful with a crunch. I got 6 pieces. Pad Thai was good. It was a lot of food. You have options for your protein. I got true tofu. Tofu is very bland on its own, so you do need to season it. This tofu had no seasoning, and it was a little disappointing. The service was a little disappointing. It's young adults and they are literally just doing a job. Here's your food, here's your check. A tip from me to you as someone who has worked in a tip based job. Be charming. Chat with your customers. Check in half way through their meal and asks how the food is, have you tried this meal? It's my favorite, come back and try it, it's so good. Be dramatic. Be personable. It goes a long way and you'll get bigger tips. Southern charm will make a world of difference. Two visits, first time the food was decent service was very minimal I'll take that as a fluke maybe caught them on a bad day. Second visit June 28th, service was even worse than before. You have three high school kids sitting around at the front counter while you're water glass has been empty for 15 minutes so coming over to ask if I needed a check or to go box and literally had to ask him for more water that was at the edge of the table. Too many restaurants around here especially 3 Doors Down to put up with this. The food, I had the one bowl away last time it was decent but not stellar and then this time I had this shaken beef which was okay came with a nice side palette of egg drop soup which was okay. Y'all need some adult managers on this site if you want to see Improvement on the place. Place was pretty clean but when it's not busy of course nothing will get messed up or dirty. Tried this spot for the first time since moving back to Lakeway. We ordered two chicken pho, bbq bahn mi and a vietnamese iced coffee to go. Their to-go bowls are PERFECT. you just add the broth to the bowl and done- no extra dishes! their broth was delicious and both my teens finished theirs. i tried their bahn mi along with a side viet iced coffee and it was so good! will come back to try more staples! read more

Food: 2, Service: 1, Ambiance: unsure, we were doing takeout AVOID this place if you have gluten allergies. The menu falsely lists many items as gluten-free and they know it but haven't fixed it for months. We ordered food based on my sister's recommendation and strong Yelp reviews. It turns out that if you have celiac disease, you should RUN AWAY. Their online menu, which is the only way to do a take out order, lists many, many items as gluten-free which was awesome, especially since some of the items can be difficult to find gluten free. We ordered the spring rolls, salad, salt and pepper tofu, and salt and pepper shrimp, all of which are listed as GF. The spring rolls were delicious and we were impressed since we thought they were making the pork gluten free. The salad had fried wonton strips all over them so that was no longer an option, and we skipped that for the entrees. We expected there would be some softening of the crispness due to it being in a closed container. But they weren't even fried at the right temperature and we had chewy, uncooked batter in parts of the shrimp, while the some of the tofu pieces were overcooked and had burn spots. Although disappointing, it wasn't the worst takeout we've ever had. Until about 8 hours later. For the next 6 hours, it was severe cramps and diarrhea. We called the restaurant the next day to ask about any cross contamination. It turns out that the online menu DOES NOT accurately list what is and is not GF, and NOTHING we ordered was GF. The pork is made with regular soy sauce, the batter isn't GF, and everything fried goes in the same fryer. The young man apologized and we could tell he sincerely felt bad, but we were shocked at how unconcerned the management was about the accuracy of allergen information and how long it had been wrong. They didn't even offer to comp the meal after causing such a severe illness. It's been 6 days and still things aren't back to normal yet. Food allergies can be life threatening and they shouldn't be so casual about it. This restaurant should be shut down until they update their entire menu to reflect allergens correctly. The only reason the food got a 2/5 rating was because the non-GF people said their food was fine. read more

Food is pretty delicious from what I've tried and I appreciate having vegan options. I just wish that they didn't use styrofoam containers with their takeout. Styrofoam is awful for the environment and never biodegrades. I recently moved to the area but won't be ordering take out again. read more

This is a new restaurant to Lakeway, and I really want to like it, but it's lacking in many ways. We only tried two dishes, but they were subpar, lacking flavor and savor. Moreover, the dishes were extremely overpriced. I see from the menu that UTea Kitchen has a location in downtown Austin and maybe that's why the prices are so inflated, but these prices are over-the-top even for that location. It's especially hard to swallow such high prices when you can't enjoy your meal with a nice glass of wine, and this place does not serve alcohol. They advertise themselves as "healthy Vietnamese," and that's partly why we went, but my husband, who is eating healthy and low carb, was limited to soup. I must add that the service was extremely thoughtful and considerate. I hope this restaurant can improve in their early days here in Lakeway and become an establishment I want to frequent. read more

I came in to check out the menu and place a takeout order, there was this loud banging noise that wouldn't stop when I asked the staff they said the owner was doing construction, with other customers eating in the restaurant looking very annoyed might I add.
