Really clean and well laid out floor plan. Staff is friendly. The edamame is hot and salty. Delish! The Japanese dumplings are fried crispy on one side but super tender and tasty on the other. I got chicken, which was good but I think it'll be better with a stronger pork flavor. I'll try pork next time. I had chicken shoyu noodles. My husband and I stopped by this restaurant for a quick meal. It used to be another Asian restaurant, but they have remodeled it, and it looks great compared to the previous place. We were the only customers when we arrived, which must have been during a slow time. The server who seated us took our order and brought our food; it felt like he was a one-person show. There were some staff members in the back, including a sushi chef, who was very nice. I appreciated that my husband ordered hot food while I ordered sushi, and both dishes came out at the same time. In other restaurants, either my meal or his tends to arrive first, but here they were served together. Overall, the food was decent and reasonably priced. I've had a ton of ramen in my lifetime and though Simply Ramen doesn't stick to the traditional flavors you may be used to, if you're looking for something unexpected, maybe take the trek to Bee Cave... I ordered the Simply Black, which features a classic tonkotsu pork broth with noodles, pork chashu, ajitama (marinated egg), fried garlic crisps, kikurage (wood ear mushrooms), menma (bamboo shoots), beansprouts, and green onion. What sets the Simply Black apart from the Simply Classic (mild) or Simply Red (spicy) is the addition of house-made black garlic oil. If you're a garlic lover like myself, you'll absolutely LOVE this! While the pork chashu was a bit fattier than I prefer and the ajitama sweeter than expected, the broth's flavor and fried garlic crisps were incredible. I've been here two or three times now, and think it's probably the best ramen compared to anything I've tried in central or south Austin. It's incredibly flavorful and they are fairly generous with their portions and variety of toppings that are included in the price. Plenty of comfortable seating on the inside. My sister in law told me how badly they treated her for wearing a Support Blue Collar Hat!!!! Chilly and rainy day calls for something to warm you up! We were in area on our trip through town and decided to give this a go with many rave reviews. The inside is clean & cozy. I wanted to add some chili sauce on the side to spice it up to my liking. That was $.50. In addition, added what we call bamboo shoots, they have a different name on the menu. $2.00 more. Alright, let's talk about it.... The first bite of garlic was so bad, it ruined the taste in both our mouths and we looked at each other like what the heck is that?! The bamboo shoots had the weirdest flavor and were nothing like any bamboo shoots I've ever had...and we LOVE them normally, but this was also meh. The pork was so dry, we could barely chew it. It should be melt in your mouth if your having it in a broth. The egg, also a wierd almost sweet flavor that didn't go well with the ramen. I had extra and didn't even take it to go. I am shocked at the many that said best ramen they've ever had...they must not of had much LOL! Our glasses stayed empty, our neighboring table even had to go to the waiter himself to ask for a refill which finally prompted him to fill ours. We've been Jinya ramen fans for years. My husband and I frequent this place often. I really like their vegan ramen. Now hear me out, I'm not even vegan, but the vegan Ramen has a ton of good stuff in there. Lots of good veggies and the green noodles are good. The tofu is super yummy and there are large brussels sprouts and all sorts of veggies in there. My husband loves the red Ramen consistently great service here we at least come here every other week. Usually I don't dine in, I get to go or takeout. Today, I've updated and upgraded to 5* The Black would make famous chef Nobu proud with earthy tones in the pork broth and ingredients inspired to deliver richness, intensity, texture, quality, and depth you might expect at a higher end restaurant. Was looking for a good Ramen place when I first moved back to the hill country. I tried this once and now if anyone wants to meet me for lunch, they don't even ask because they know where we're going. They are as addicted as I am. The sushi is great. The Ramen is fantastic. The gyoza and the chatsu buns are perfect. This was probably my 10th time there (I've been here for 5 months ) and today, one thing didn't taste like usual. Finally, a legit ramen place in the Bee Cave area. Very much needed and very much appreciated. Love the ambiance and decor of the restaurant and love the flexibility of ordering at the table through a QR code or waiting for a waiter. A robot waiter also comes with your food. Although a human actually hands it to you. The Bao buns - outstanding. Perfect texture on the fluffy buns and pork is tender and tasty. One nitpick is to not have regular mayo as the side sauce. That seems a bit lazy. Make it a spicy mayo or something interesting. To be fair the bun is tasty on its own and doesn't need the extra sauce. The pork Gyoza were delicious and plentiful. Plump and tasty with just enough crunch from the pan frying. The black ramen is very good as well. Nice texture to the ramen and pork. Good mix of ingredients and good flavor. Would love to see a bottle of sriracha at the table so you can spice it up to your own taste. But otherwise, the bowl of ramen really hit the spot. Service was pretty slow during lunch. I came during the soft opening and thought it was fine. I came again Oct 2023 and WOW I've been missing out by not coming more often! Got the black garlic tonkatsu ($15). The tonkatsu is rich, fatty, with a great depth of flavor. The garlic flavor is not only helped by the black garlic oil but also the fried garlic chips. Easily one of the best in Austin, on par with Sazan (note that Sazan is not tonkatsu; this place also has the lighter chicken broth but I haven't tried it yet). Definitely the best in the Bee Cave/Lakeway/Dripping area. Blows tatsuya out the water (not a fan of tatsuya in general). The ajitama (egg) is seasoned to be slightly sweet which was unexpected but very welcome as a brightness to cut through the rich broth. The charred pork was two long thick fatty slices with a great braised soy sauce flavor. A very generous portion, much more so than typical ramen shops. Karaage - excellent! Very crispy exterior and juicy dark meat interiors. Came piping hot. read more

They also have a lunch special combos for sushi rolls everyday until 3 pm, including weekends! Service was good. There were robots, but our waiter still helped us. Pretty spacious as well. The owner of Simply Pho House is expanding her food empire with Simply Ramen & Gyoza and I am here for it! When the pho restaurant moved across the street to its new Galleria location a year or so ago, we had no idea a sister restaurant would fill its old spot. I'm amazed by how chic and different this space looks post-renovation. The two of us ordered a Simply Classic, Simply Red, and Simply Gyoza for dinner. Everything in the ramen bowls were quite tasty and came with a generous amount of toppings, including a juicy piece of chashu pork. A portion of my noodles were a tad undercooked but I ain't mad about it. If you're thinking about getting the spicy ramen, be prepared for a 3/5 spice level. Our server undersold how spicy it was but I survived lol. Unless you love gyozas, I'd skip ordering them here. They were lukewarm, chewy, and too heavy on the chives. Might be a fluke or consistency issue, as my husband swears they were much better the last time he ordered them. The "manager" Lindy cut us off after the waiters complained of my incoherent speech, which is a South African accent.
