We were in the mood for ramen. This place was not too far. The seating was immediate as it was a week day. The service is very fast and prompt. Our server was friendly and he recommended to do half spicy half black ramen which turned out to be good. The portions are huge and will definitely satisfy you. The place looks modern and clean. There is a robot that delivers your food which looks cool. Good for a ramen fix whenever you need one

Simply Ramen didn't have to smack that hard. I've had a ton of ramen in my lifetime and though Simply Ramen doesn't stick to the traditional flavors you may be used to, if you're looking for something unexpected, maybe take the trek to Bee Cave... I ordered the Simply Black, which features a classic tonkotsu pork broth with noodles, pork chashu, ajitama (marinated egg), fried garlic crisps, kikurage (wood ear mushrooms), menma (bamboo shoots), beansprouts, and green onion. What sets the Simply Black apart from the Simply Classic (mild) or Simply Red (spicy) is the addition of house-made black garlic oil. If you're a garlic lover like myself, you'll absolutely LOVE this! While the pork chashu was a bit fattier than I prefer and the ajitama sweeter than expected, the broth's flavor and fried garlic crisps were incredible. I couldn't resist trying the sushi as well, but I'd recommend skipping it and focusing on the ramen instead.

I've been here two or three times now, and think it's probably the best ramen compared to anything I've tried in central or south Austin. It's incredibly flavorful and they are fairly generous with their portions and variety of toppings that are included in the price. Plenty of comfortable seating on the inside. We went on a Saturday evening and though there were plenty of people there was no line and service was quick. Definitely recommend trying this out whether you live in Bee Cave or not!

The food was good, not over the top. The presentation was poor. They served me a poke bowl with a spoon, and I had to get up to get chopsticks and napkins. I asked for another glass of wine and it never came. No one worked the table or even cared if I was there or not. I don't care how good the food is with service like that I will not return.

Chilly and rainy day calls for something to warm you up! We were in area on our trip through town and decided to give this a go with many rave reviews. The inside is clean & cozy. The host was quick to seat us. Fortunately they weren't super busy, only 4 total tables to serve. One whole side and bar area empty. Our waiter came to us promptly, a little too promptly but of course rather that then be forgotten! :) We'll, the too prompt continued in an annoying way to the point it was rushed and like "hurry up." We would of ordered more but it was the vibe of eat and go. Ordered the #2 Black Ramen and it is only different from the classic with the add of the garlic. Same price though. I wanted to add some chili sauce on the side to spice it up to my liking. That was $.50. In addition, added what we call bamboo shoots, they have a different name on the menu. $2.00 more. Alright, let's talk about it.... The first bite of garlic was so bad, it ruined the taste in both our mouths and we looked at each other like what the heck is that?! The bamboo shoots had the weirdest flavor and were nothing like any bamboo shoots I've ever had...and we LOVE them normally, but this was also meh. The pork was so dry, we could barely chew it. It should be melt in your mouth if your having it in a broth. The egg, also a wierd almost sweet flavor that didn't go well with the ramen. I had extra and didn't even take it to go. I am shocked at the many that said best ramen they've ever had...they must not of had much LOL! Our glasses stayed empty, our neighboring table even had to go to the waiter himself to ask for a refill which finally prompted him to fill ours. We've been Jinya ramen fans for years. Well stick to that. Personally wouldn't come here again. Sorry :/

The lunch special sushi was on point! Great little place in the area that if you are not looking for it, you will miss it. Very nice employees and quick service as well. Give this one a try!

Great spot in Bee Cave if you're looking for Ramen. The staff are fantastic! My wife and I decided to grab a quick lunch here. The restaurant layout is great. They have a little bar area and a nice size dining room. We both ordered a ramen dish and started with the Japanese pan-fried dumplings. The pan-fried dumplings were delicious! I could've eaten two orders of these! Both our Ramens were very tasty. Flavors were just right and not overbearing.

Today, I've updated and upgraded to 5* The Black would make famous chef Nobu proud with earthy tones in the pork broth and ingredients inspired to deliver richness, intensity, texture, quality, and depth you might expect at a higher end restaurant. The pork was amazingly seasoned and done like Ive never seen. Plenty of pork too. Also tried the Miso Hot with similar compliments and it does have a nice spicy flavor profile. Both entrees were beautifully executed with the presentation immaculately performed. Thanks to the kind and attentive service, very pleased.

So the waiter came out and served me the green tea and the mango flavored Sake. By this time his English was a struggle. It was time to order my meal and ordered the Chicken wings with the Tempura California roll sushi. It took a while but I didn't mind. He was trying to make sure my order came out soon. First the Chicken wings was different with a sweet sauce and yogurt dip with celery, I thought interesting way to make Chicken wings. It was flavorful and I was very happy. The sushi restaurants start making a lot of their rolls with "spicy" ingredients. They are cutting their costs by blending ingredients. Not my favorite choice in a sushi place. Treated like the regular I was, always phenomenal service, offered me special off menu items on every visit, the freshest fish, exquisite presentations...just wow. And a great happy hour to boot. Thennnnnnn... About a year prior to my last restaurant visit, I had ordered an extra large assortment of items ($$$$) for delivery for a special occasion at home. It had been a while, but I noticed immediately something was "off." Bottom line, everything was just sloppy and not as fresh as it always had been in the past. I chalked it up to delivery versus dine in. There was something in the back of my mind though that told me that Chef Sun would never have let those items leave the restaurant. Fast forward to in-house dining again. Visible wear and tear on the restaurant interior (looks old). A few plates were even chipped. Might sound nitpicky, but in my humble opinion they need to reinvest some money into the restaurant to get it back up to its shiny self. The service was lackluster, slow, cordial but not necessarily friendly. Some of my favorite menu items (such as the yummmmmy sea bass) are no longer available. Prices were significantly higher than they used to be; however, that's everywhere right? Pft. Decided to order some "safe" dishes that had always been personal favorites. Go to "Red Hill Tower" was served first. The presentation was all right. Not as meticulous as it used to be. When I dug in mixed it all together I noticed how horrible the knife work was. I mean they butchered the tuna. Knife skills are very important in sushi. Many chefs train for years. Flavor was a-okay with all the house sauces, but for 20 bucks it left me wanting more. Gyoza was greasy and chewy. Rice in California Roll was on the dry side. Katsu was also quite dry and lacked flavor. Admittedly the vegetable tempora was pretty tasty. Not surprisingly, I was informed that the restaurant had been purchased by new owners quite some time ago. All of the changes are so apparent, and none are positive. Quality control and pride of stellar presentation and service has disappeared. Tadashi is now (sobbing) sadly just another subpar sushi restaurant with much higher prices than most. Goodbye my old friend. I have no intentions of returning. :(

My first time wasn't too memorable and the second time I got the ultra spicy veggie ramen and it was so spicy I cried (which is good haha i have very high spice tolerance so I'm glad I found a spot that can do truly spicy). This time, I got the deluxe Chicken Paitan DX Ramen (the one that comes with the chicken leg). Chicken Paitan DX Ramen: A sweet soy glazed chicken leg is served on a hot sizzling plate with a small bed of bean sprouts marinating in the sauce. The sauce is a sticky, sweet soy sauce that is so delicious. The chicken leg itself is tender, juicy, and has a great skin texture. The skin soaks up the sauce so well and even has some nice charred bits that add to the flavor and complexity of the dish. The ramen itself was great too. A creamy rich chicken broth. I got the spicy level, so one level under the top spice level and it was perfect. Not unbearably spicy, but had a really nice underlying kick. The noodles are a thin yet snappy noodle so it made it easy to eat. I love the corn and mushroom spirals too! Overall, if you come based on this review, make sure to get the chicken paitan dx ramen. There are only 15 served in a day but ask them if they have it because I was able to get one on a Monday night at around 8PM! It's a nice space, good for a date or even a casual hangout. They have tables to accomodate parties of 1, 2, 4, and possibly 6.
