Our go to neighborhood sushi spot! Sushi is always great, the spicy garlic edamame is ! Sooo good! Then theres the AYCE meal. Everyone at the table has to participate. We tried it, this was our boat! SO MUCH FOOD! Joselyn is the best and very attentive! BOGO sapporos are always a hit!

Service was quick and attentive. Came with free miso soup and a beautiful boat arrangement of everything we ordered. Food was delicious my favorite was the baked scallop roll and the baked salmon roll but the hand rolls are really good too. Definitely will come back this is a hidden gem

Gotta get your fix during lunch time in Montebello. Dine in or Take it to go. Sakura is the place to go! Quick service and nice quaint ambiance. Ordered the spicy edamame, dragon roll, mexican roll, caterpillar roll, & highway roll. All hit the spot, very good!

Huge portions, most rolls look like this.

If you're hungry, this place will fill you up! The portions are very generous and they have so many options on their menu, along with a selection of alcoholic beverages. The cucumber salad was different and a great palette cleanser. Service was so so nice, they do a great job welcoming their guests and being attentive. The restaurant looked clean and we did not come across any issues during our stay. With that said, I feel like the flavors of the sushi rolls were all kind of the same considering the crab meat was the main ingredient of the rolls. The cucumber roll had some good peices of sushi but also another questionable grey looking filling. We ate it, we're fine. But really nothing spectacular, especially if you're more of a sashimi sushi kinda lover. I say the prices were pretty fair! Give it a try for yourself. :)

For sushi in this area, this place was unexpectedly decently GOOD!!! And REALLY GOOD considering this area does NOT appear to be known for their Japanese food. Their hamachi Kama was extremely well made. It was very light and flavorful, they didn't over cook it like a lot of places do. It was well seasoned and very buttery. My friend enjoyed her special albacore cut roll a lot. She was especially appreciative of the heaping pile of julienned onions and sauce with some heat piled on top. I ordered The dragon roll because I live unagi. This was a perfectly made unagi on the outside roll. I appreciated that they went easy on the sauce drizzling, usually I can do without the extra sauce drizzling. The one thing I don't like was the tonkatsu curry rice. The sauce was watered down and the katsu was a little over fried. There's a parking lot out front with lots of people coming and going.

this is probably the best ayce sushi deal i've seen recently ($37.99 a person) the fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were so good. montebello isn't a well known area for sushi so i was super surprised with how good everything here was. i will definitely be going again!! the staff and owner checked in with us to make sure everything was good so i really appreciate it

What a gem! The salmon lover's roll is fresh and flavorful. Good prices! Plenty of tables and food options. If I lived closer, I would come more often!

This place has delicious sushi rolls and the chef is generous with the amount and size of your roll. It's always a good experience when I come here, my favorites are the rainbow roll, the sour salmon and the popcorn roll. They also have good bento boxes . I've been coming here for years, even though it's a 20 minute drive from my house, it's always worth it. I recommend this place to anyone who has a big appetite and wants something worth their buck.

    It's so amazing~~ t's so delicious~~^^

I was not confused to a stupor that left me angry and frustrated, I was left more dazed with swirling lilies around my mind, like I had been hit hard with the staff of a fairy who pays the bills of the forest as an interior designer. The place has a design concept that takes two opposing forces and blends them into a restaurant concept: health forward food for O.G.'s and their like and crew, all while being a love letter to the streets of Los Angeles, the gritty streets, not the ones next to Rodeo. For instance, Cruz, one of the staff members, was wearing a "Straight out of Whittier" shirt that was clear nod to the movie straight out of Compton that was all about the rap and its consequence on West LA homeboy culture. The central mural of the joint showed low-riders, the LA symbol made with finger angles, and graffiti galore. Again, the message was clear this is a health cafe for Tupac and his friends and followers. These two principal ingredients mixing together (health food and LA street culture) at least in my mind, are more the subject for improv comedy than a sensible restaurant concept. I know people can mix what ever they want together, I know that there is choice when people color and dress, but this motif seemed like it was mixing Ninja culture with a dog grooming service. The concept can work, I see a ninja de-worming a golden retriever with swift skill but this concept also seems forced rather than flowing with common sense. So for a health cafe in LA I see Cher from Clueless, or Barbie, being more easily applied to the concept. But what do I know perhaps in a few months will have a Hell's Angel's tea experience that will not be dainty but rather hard like a helmet and it might be the concept that begins a revolution that ends with Hair Salons with Viking culture at its decoration theme. The (health) food in itself was a blessing. My friend Bailey is the healthy eater of the two of us! She got a simple green salad with tofu. I sampled a forkful. My hand had to dig in hard, with its fork, to retrieve the lettuce, the carrot, and some of the pickle, I avoided the tofu. The greens were fresh, and tasted clean in their simple flavors, but what elevated the green forkful to excellence in taste was the sweet mustard dressing. The green had dressing that turned solid greens to yummy ones! I ordered the shrimp tostada. Cruz, came to the table and explained that my plate was Keto friendly, which meant that it was good food for those who were experiencing life as a pre-diabetic, for example. What I loved about this place and its food, was that I did not feel like I was eating healthy and had to sacrifice pleasure in the name of honoring my health goals. Quite the contrary, the food was just plain good food, and for me, eating good clean food, is a fantastic way to keep my health goals on track. Apparently the tortilla was made out of cactus, and that is a why where the healthy stays in tact, while still being food that is satisfying, and, yummy! I would go here again, especially when my health goals are in full swing. This place will facilitate the process because the food was truly good!

They are pretty hefty sandwiches, and they do use quality ingredients. Even the bread is really good. I got the baba ghanoush, which I think was quite amazing, and I got there special of the day which was a club sandwich which I thought was good but I think the baba ghanoush was better. I also ended up getting a cookie on some other pastry, which was also really good. The cookie that they had was super thin and just delightful. The person behind the counter answered my questions about the pastries and gave his good advice on which ones were really good and he did not disappoint, and overall it seems like the people were friendly. The store is small and there are some tables inside very clean. Very cute. A bunch of tables outside as well and it looks like it is a popular spot because when I got there, there was a line but once I found parking and walked there there was no line. It does take some time so it's not super fast. And if you don't like to parallel park, you're gonna have to learn here. I don't live in the area, so I'm sad that I won't be able to eat at this place more often. However, if I am even remotely close, I'll probably stop by. GOD BLESS THESE TWO WORKERS!!!!…read more I am new to this crazy city, and on Sunday 2/22/25, it was my first time coming to this location and OMG was it PACKED!!!! There were people everywhere! Uber eats, families dinning in, kids screaming, people like me ordering to-go; omg it was pure chaos. LOL. I am not sure of their names, I think one is "Ant" (possibly the manager) and I'm not sure of the young mans name in grey (he has red braces) buuuut holy COW ! Give them a round of applause!!!! They were carrying the show! Customers were being so rude, yelling at the staff, demeaning their orders/ time it was going to take, asking questions left and right about their order etc. and not once did either of the two workers snap (lord know I would've) I personally told the young man he was doing great, and I truly hope he knows I meant it! He did a million shakes and FAST while answering everyone's demands and still trying to take orders to help the crazy line out. I definitely feel this must be the hardest job- fast food! The cooks were going as fast as they possibly could, and the people just kept pouring in. The pressure literally seemed like Hell's Kitchen !
