This is a hidden little gem in Denham Springs. Worth the 10 minute drive. My son and I picked out a booth towards the back and we were immediately taken care of. This restaurant is family owned and operated. We started with seaweed salad and soy beans. I do have to tell you that was the best salad I've had in a very long time. We ordered three rolls, I don't remember their names, but great rice and the fish was so fresh. This restaurant was very clean. The menu prices were about average with any other Japanese restaurant. Came here for lunch, and got the lunch sushi special. The combo was very well priced, and the sushi was nothing special. Very good to satisfy a craving, but not if you're looking for a sushi experience. Miso soup was giving off a questionable aroma, but tasted fine. Service was friendly and fast. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We got takeout.. The hibachi vegetables were burned to the point they were inedible because all you could taste is char. The steak had no flavor and was like chewing rubber. My clear soup tasted like dishwater. I called the restaurant and I'm assuming the owner is who I spoke to. His response was "I can give you a $10 credit the next time you come". Um, no. I paid $80 for food that I couldn't even eat and what I could was terrible. I will not be coming back and I told him this and he says. "If you come back by I'll give you $10 back". I'm not wasting my gas to get $10 back on an $80 order that wasn't even worth $30 read more

Very nice family but the meal wasn't so great. 3 people for $63 before tip (we all had water) My shrimp must have been frozen because they were tough. You couldn't even cut it in half with a fork. They didn't taste cooked at first so I asked if they could cook a little longer which they kindly did. Upon return they still didn't taste quite right so with an hour and a half ride home I couldn't chance it. The scallops tasted good. Overall the meal just didn't taste good enough to warrant more stars. read more

What a great place. My wife an I went for her birthday and absolutely adored it. She had never had Japanese food so we deferred to the hostess who listened to our likes and dislikes and suggested the perfect meal. Home run. The wife loved it. We had the Hibachi combo of Steak & Scallops and sushi rolls (The Denham Springs, The LSU, The California, & The Rock & Roll). All were exceptional. If your on the fence about this place, go. This place is fantastic. Our waitress was wonderful. We went on Christmas after trying both IHOP and Waffle House. After waiting at IHOP for an hour with no food we went to WH and sat without as much as being greeted for thirty minutes (they weren't busy) so we came here. Best decision. They were very high spirited and was giving us free alcoholic beverages for Christmas. We ended up spending about 200$ there it was so great. We only give that kind of businesses to restaurants as nice as this one. read more

The food here was only mediocre. I ordered the bento box and got the teriyaki chicken and steak and the chicken tasted like the chicken fajita meat you get in a bag at walmart that it partly rib meat. Everything was lower cuts of meat. There wasn't a lot going on at the restaurant and some of the employees had their heads down on the tables in the back because they were so dead! If they'd have been doing that when I walked in, I would have turned right around and left! Of course I ordered cooked food because I would hate to order sushi here and get the food poisoning that would've ensued. read more

I have always enjoyed this restaurant. Once geisha came to town I stopped going as much. The sushi is always fresh though and it's a great place to get take out. The service is always quick. Waitresses are always friendly. The specialty rolls are really good. Haven't had a bad roll yet. read more

Out of all the sushi places I've been too this is my favorite. It's not the fanciest, but the food is as good if not better than anywhere else you could go and the prices are reasonable. It's a family that runs it and they are some of the friendliest and nicest people I have met. We are there often enough that when we sit down they already know what we want to drink and usually what we want to order. Sometimes I'll just tell them to surprise me with a roll and they already know what I like and don't like. I think my family's favorite part about this place is since they really don't advertise it's never packed and a nice quite atmosphere. read more
