The hibachi is good and the portions are huge plus the soup and salad you get with it. Unfortunately they forgot my vegetables, but have us both rice and noodles. The sushi is pretty good. Overall, I'd be back but would probably eat inside instead of ordering to go.

I was a little worried at first mainly because I eat at the same Hibachi place every single time. It was nice to try a different spot. My plate was PACKED! It was really good & the service was quick. I dont like vegetables, I only had Hibachi steak, rice, and chicken! 9/10

Service was amazing. Our server was really patient with us going over the menu. The sushi rolls we chose were really good. I loved the shrimp lo mein full of garlic.

The food was delicious! The service was great! Our server was friendly and very attentive! The sushi was fresh, the sauce for the chicken teriyaki was astounding, and the tempura was crispy and tasty! The portions were very generous!!! One of our steamed rice bowls was a little undercooked, and the prices were a touch higher than I want to pay. But, we'll still be back!

    Chirashi Dinner

This was overall a really nice experience. I got the Chirashi dinner, which included soup, salad, and 14 pieces of sushi over a mound of rice, all for $21. The sushi was quite good, and for such a reasonable price, it's one of the best sushi finds I've had in awhile. Service was very attentive and polite, and the food came out very fast. While it is not the fanciest on the inside, if your looking for good sushi at amazing prices, I think this is a great option in BR. Will have to come back to see how it is for a second time.

I'd ate half my rice before taking this picture. There's plenty to bring home after the meal!

First time dinning with Tokyo Cafe. There was people waiting, it our whole party was there, and we were able to be seated immediately. Food was excellent, as well as the Hibachi chef. He was interactive and made some great food. Would definitely recommend this place again. We received a huge amount of food for a very fair price.

    Steak and shrimp hibachi dinner

We were recommended to visit Tokyo Cafe as our first option did not have any hibachi seats open for the rest of the evening. We walked in and noticed it was a little outdated, to me means the best food. However, the cleanliness is at a low level. We sat at our table in the hibachi section and noticed under the grill next to our seat was filthy. Egg shells, dirt, food.. everything. Under the grill looked like it hadn't been actually cleaned in years. I soon got nauseous but kept going with the evening. I kept thinking if the front of their house looked like this, i can't imagine the kitchen. The drink was average but for $6 , can't complain. Salad was hot with a soup level amount of dressing. The chef was socially awkward and not really entertaining. But the food was really good! However, i woke up with the worst...painful ... food poisoning that i had to call out of work. I gave two stars instead of 1 because the food, besides the salad, was actually tasty. Just resulted in food poisoning and a reoccurring image of how dirty the establishment was :(

The first time my ribeye was just as good as any steak I have anywhere, maybe except for one or two other restaurants. The second time while good, not did not touch the first experience. The butter served with the steak browned, maybe too much, and overwhelmed the steak. Both time my Wife ordered the filet on both occasions. The first time the steak was pretty good but this past time it was overcooked and the char on the outside was bordering on burnt. During our most recent visit I started with the wedge and my Wife the sensation salad. My wedge was good but not in the top 3 best I have ever had. My Wife was not pleased with the sensation salad at all. The sensation was very small and not enough dressing. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese and Potatoes Au Gratin. The Mac & Cheese was very good. It taste and looked a lot better than most of the pictures posted on Yelp. The potatoes were okay, not great but not horrible. The complimentary bread was good however, not close to even being top 10. We finished our meal with the New York Cheesecake. It was okay as well, you can find just as good of cheesecake at a lot of places.

Carrabba's sprinkler system had been activated before I arrived at 8p. The Silly Rabbit Comedy Club was offering a late show so I was hoping to dine in. I was greeted by an attractive group of staff upon entering who showed me to the bar area. I was happy that the bar area offers booths. The menu has no prices(should've been a red flag.) There's an old saying,"if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it." I'd counter with,"if you have to conceal it, it's probably not worth it." Ding, ding, ding! I tried winging it so I ordered the Petite Filet Mignon, Flemings Potatoes, and a tea. The interior was nice and dark as I like my dining establishments to be. I attempted to view the main dining area but the Christmas decoration(border) was literally blocking the view. I couldn't see without standing. There were only two of us at the bar. It was creeping to 845p now and I asked my waitress to change it "to go." Immediately my order is presented to me. My bill was three times what I expected to pay. All I received was meat and potatoes. I've prepared better tasting steak in a crock pot. I've thought about returning but I won't after reading this is standard for Flemings. Flemings kept every ounce of flavor for themselves. Yes I ate it cold but I don't believe it would've been any better if it was warm.

The first food I got was the complimentary bread. It was nicely warm and the butter was super tasty. Then for my main entree I got the 12oz filet mignon. I would say cooked it was about 7oz ish. The crust was delectable and it was super juicy and had a hint of movie theatre popcorn. That's a compliment btw. Filet - 9.1/10 For my side I got the Lobster 3 Cheese Mac. It was soooo good like top 10 mac and cheese ive had. Maybe im exaggerating but I dont eat mac and cheese too often so it was definitely a refresher. The lobster was good too but there wasnt an awful lot, so i would consider paying $8 less for just the mac. Then dessert. I got the creme brulee, it was okay. Not the best creme brulee and if I was coming looking forward to it, I wouldnt be too satisfied. It was good though dont get me wrong, just not top tier creme brulee. Id lean towards getting the other options. I also tried the Banana Foster Pudding, it was warm and sweet with hints of banana but also cold from the ice cream. Definitely better than the creme brulee, so if youre between the two id get the pudding. Last thing, If you say you're celebrating something, theyll give you a complimentary dessert. It was like a chocolate cake with ice cream and raspberries. It was good, just a basic dessert but it was free so cant complain. The service was okay, thats the low point of the review and why its a 4 star and not a 5 star. It seemed like they didnt have too many waiters, but the few they had were working hard. BONUS: Alot of people seem to complain about the wait time. Which if theyre talking about wait time with the waiter, I understand. But the wait time from ordering 4 entrees and 2 sides was 27 minutes, which isnt bad and it goes by quick. The 4 desserts took like 12-15 minutes i think. Overall, im pleased with my visit. It was a good way to fulfill my cravings that I had. Juicy steak, cheesy mac, and good dessert. Nice environment, solid service, yummy food. Overall rating probably like a 84/100. We found Parrain's Seafood while searching for authentic Louisiana food and a good po'boy/seafood…read morespot before making our drive back home to Houston. We were in Baton Rouge helping our grandson move into his dorm as an incoming freshman at LSU, and Parrain's kept coming up in our searches and reviews. We decided to give it a try, and I'm SO glad we did! We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., and when I tell you EVERYBODY and their family was there... I mean everybody! The parking lot was packed. There is plenty of parking, but there were so many people that we still had to hunt for a spot. Thankfully, we found one under a shade tree because it was HOT! When we walked up, we fully expected a long wait. There is plenty of outdoor seating for people waiting, and I also noticed they have both steps and an accessibility ramp leading to the entrance. My daughter and I sat down while my husband stood in line to put our name on the list. About five minutes later, he was waving for us to come inside! Apparently, many of the people waiting were large groups and families coming from church, but since there were only three of us, they were able to seat us almost immediately. HUGE plus! Once inside, it was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. It took our server a little while to initially get to us, but considering how packed the restaurant was, it really wasn't bad at all. Our waitress was very nice, and I was actually impressed with how quickly our food came out. Now let's talk about the FOOD!! We first ordered the onion rings for an appetizer... super delicious I ordered the fried shrimp platter, and those shrimp were fried to PERFECTION! Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The meal also came with salad, fries, hush puppies, and a side. The hush puppies were SO GOOD! They are shaped almost like little donut holes... crispy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. Delicious! For my side, I chose the fresh green beans instead of the dirty rice. Unfortunately, those were the one thing I didn't enjoy. They didn't have much flavor to me and seemed a little undercooked. Next time, I'll definitely choose another side. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter with dirty rice, coleslaw, and fries, and he loved everything. I tasted his coleslaw, and OH MY GOODNESS! Get the coleslaw! It was different from any coleslaw I've had before. It has whole peanuts in it, which sounds unusual, but somehow it WORKS! The peanuts add this wonderful crunch and flavor. It was SO good. And the French fries!! I've never seen fries cut this way before. They're almost shaped like little Scoop Fritos, with a crispy outside and soft potato inside. So unique and really good! My daughter ordered the catfish strips and fries from the kids' menu. These weren't processed little nuggets... they were actual pieces of catfish cut into strips, and she really enjoyed them. She also ordered the crab fingers, and those were another 10/10! They were incredibly well-seasoned with a little spice and tons of flavor. I tasted one and wanted MORE! I'm watching my sodium intake, so I behaved myself, but they were absolutely delicious. Overall, Parrain's was a 10/10 for us. The only thing I wouldn't personally order again would be the green beans. Everything else, from the shrimp and catfish to those amazing hush puppies, unique fries, crab fingers, and especially that coleslaw, was DELICIOUS. Yes, it was crowded and lively, but we still received really good service and didn't have to wait nearly as long as we expected. With our grandson now attending LSU, we'll be making plenty of trips back to Baton Rouge, and Parrain's has officially made our list of places we will be visiting again!

I had really been looking forward to trying Parrain's Seafood, but unfortunately my experience was…read moredisappointing. Our waitress, Kate M., didn't have the best customer service. She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
