The decor is adorable. Paper umbrellas, paper lanterns, shoji screens and sakura flowers. Feels like you dining in an anime cafe. There's a sushi bar also. Pretty large menu selection, a bit of Chinese take away, a Thai curry dish but mostly sushi and sashimi. Sake (warm and chill) plus Sapporo and Kirin in bottles for drinks- yes! Wine also. The night we went was busy - close to a couple of hotels so many families with smaller kids.

I honestly wanted to love this sushi place! It's super close to where we live and it's inexpensive, but it just wasn't good. All the rolls tasted the same, even if they had different types of fish and sauces. The fish was mushy and grainy. Overall, it wasn't great.

It's a very beautiful restaurant, you walk in and you see lots of umbrellas on the ceiling and a beautiful faux Sakura tree. Our waiter was very friendly. The food came out quickly. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the breeze roll and the spider roll. Their gyoza sauce was very sweet. Their yakisoba was very bad. I think they used ramen noodles, and the chicken seemed very rubbery. No flavor. Overall it was. Great time and very reasonably priced.

My wife and I came on a Tuesday evening for date night and loved the atmosphere. The decor is very nice and great for a casual evening out. Great service as well. Our food came out quickly. We tried the octopus balls and they were yum. We also ordered the treasure roll from the chefs special side of the menu as well as the citrus roll. All very good. Would highly recommend especially if you don't want to deal with the long war time at Tsunami.

Um I just wasted $40. They might look tasty but they have no flavor. You're better off getting sushi at Macey's or Smiths.

The sushi was great, fresh, and such a huge selection. Our server was courteous and quick, we'll definitely come back.

I arrived at the peak of the…read morelunch rush and was pleasantly surprised how quickly I raced through the long line to place my order. The staff is very engaging - welcoming guests as they hear the door open with a loud but settling greeting. I ordered the Mongolian beef as it was being pulled off the grill. The umami of the beef mixed with my favorite, secret, "tiger" sauce was phenomenal. Zao has a modern take on Asian ambiance that serves its purpose of combining Asian fusion delicacies with fast casual lifestyles. Last but certainly not least, the house-made Frescas are delicious and not to be forgotten about. I was absolutely torn on the Thai Mango and the Passion Limeade because they are both that tasty.

But what I like about this particular location is that well, first of all, it's in a great location with lots of options for restaurants, it's got a Harmon's and some nearby retail shops. I also love that this place has unique limited time items like the Mongolian beef. That was a really pleasant surprise. I like feeling good coming out of lunch and zao's with the fresh ingredients and veggies does just that. Service is friendly at this modern fast casual spot. There's tons of seating inside and they keep it up well, and again, with it being a tasty healthier meal along with special limited time items, it's worth stopping by this location when figuring out what to have lunch in the area.

I ordered the combo seafood boil and the calamari appetizer to start. The appetizer did come out after our meals so we didn't get to eat much of it since we wanted our meals. I don't know why it didn't come out shortly after ordering. The calamari appetizer does have fried jalapeños as well, which is a nice addition. The dipping sauces weren't anything special - I wish they had a jalapeño ranch like other seafood boil restaurants do. The seafood boil itself was delicious! I got 1lb of shrimp, with the head off, 1/2 pound of black mussels, and then they include sausage, corn, and potatoes. I got a mix of all the seasonings/sauces and a medium spice level. The flavor was so good and it's so fun dipping everything into the sauce before eating it. I also ordered a side of white rice to add my sauce to as well - always a must! The shrimp was juicy and tasted very fresh. The mussels also tasty fresh and did not have a sour or fishy taste. Everything was very yummy! I can't wait to come back! Prices are fantastic for portions!

Shrimp with head on, side of rice on the side, with the medium kickin' sauce (combo of all the sauces together) - had great flavor and the shrimp was great! Comes with 2 potatoes and 1 corn on the cob. Also ordered the fried calamari appetizer with jalapeños - flavor was good, but needs another sauce served with it to justify/elevate it to another level - maybe some cilantro ranch! Service was attentive and friendly. Will def come back here to bring the rest of the family! Love the fact that this was originally China Kitchen, and they are still China kitchen, so you can have your favorite Chinese dishes here as well! They just added the seafood boil option to half the menu.
