I got the Big Chief Spud and it was delicious! It's grilled salmon and shrimp with butter, cheese and chives. They have a sour cream packet on the side. The salmon is flavored just right and it's very filling. The actual location is only open as a window inside to place your order and then go back outside as they said you're not allowed to wait inside. You have to wear your mask to enter and a sign outside says no more than 2 customers at a time. So they give you an estimate of when your food will be done and then you just go back in to get it at some point. It would be nice if they had a system that alerts you when your order is up or just brought it out to you. read more

My go to spot for when I'm craving a good delicious salad and don't want to prepare it myself. Their vegetables are always fresh and well portioned. My favorite is the Blackened Salmon Salad, medium well. Oh my, what a tasty meal. The juice on the salmon from the grill gives it an extra kick. Service is nice and friendly. read more

Not only is this a black owned restaurant, it's one of the healthiest spots in the East! They have things from salads, wraps and baked potatoes. I decided to get the salmon salad and a basic spud (not pictured). Imma just say that salmon was cookedt to the T baybeee you hear me! Very seasoned and well cooked .... not to dry or undercooked. Came here one day for lunch with a friend and I was pretty excited to try their spuds. From the outside, the building looks pretty rundown but that usually doesn't deter me from eating at a place. We ordered for takeout the Grilled Chicken Salad, Anthony Davis Spud with Garlic Lemon Salmon, and another Anthony David Spud but with Lightly Blackened Salmon. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The potatoes were the main attraction and was aesthetically pleasing. Sadly, the potatoes came with two small strips of grilled salmon and four shrimps. It looks like it was carefully portioned just for the presentation. There were no indications of which potato had the garlic lemon salmon or the lightly blackened salmon, so we had to figure it out. The differences were very minor with the garlic lemon salmon only tasting like it had a splash of lemon added. The salad didn't look anything too special, but it was a pretty large portion and they gave me three containers of salad dressing. The grilled chicken was grilled a bit too long and was really dry and tough. Overall, a decent place to get some spuds, salads, and sandwiches. It's pretty pricey for what you get in take out containers. Hopefully I will like more of their other menu options in the future. read more

I initially was going to do a food review for my page to give this business more exposure, but i basically got salmon and spring mix. I got a salmon salad w/o cheese. The price doesn't match what's online and they don't do substitutions. I got a huge piece of salmon and A LOT of spring mix, two slices of avocado, two slices of cucumber, 3 tomatoes, and two punches of carrots when initially i wanted to sub for more cucumber initially. Salmon cooked perfectly (not dried out). I've only had take out when working but after placing order over the phone the food is ready upon arrival. Was in East NOLA taking a break from a community service project and was looking for a non-fast food restaurant to get a quick and lite lunch. I have to admit that I almost judged the place by it's surrounding but glad I didn't and reviews by fellow YELPERS assisted in my decision to try this place out. Located in a weathered strip mall Salad Galore & More is unassuming. Once you open the door, you are brought to a simple, humble, clean and welcoming eating establishment. An alternative to the surrounding popular unhealthy fast food chains, this place brings an element of healthy vegetables, grains, seafood and lean meat options to choose from. I was delighted to see they had a spuds (potatoes) section with all types of options that can be put in a baked potato. In addition, they had salads, wraps, beef and turkey burgers and a variety of chicken and grilled shrimp selections. I opted to get get a Shrimp spud with grilled shrimp, chives, lite on the butter and shredded cheese. The potatoes in this place are rather large and filling as a meal. This was absolutely filling and delicious. I walked away very satisfied. The customer service was dead on and the southern hospitality shined through. The sister of the owner represented this place well as she gave me and my table-mates a little history of the place. I so enjoy small businesses like this that offer awesome healthy services and goods to their community. Next time in NOLA, I will definitely come here again to support. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE . PERIODT. this black owned establishment provides a healthy option for the people of New Orleans East were unfortunately trapped in a blatant and obvious food desert. I've ordered many salads from them but my almost favorite is there salmon salad with ranch dressing. The portion of me is always enough in their presentation says my taste buds over the edge every time. Although still considered "fast food", this place tends to have longer to get time so be sure to order over the phone before you arrive to ensure you can eat then return to work on time. First, let me say, THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL! The price, not so much... I raved about the food and suggested this place for lunch to my co-workers. I had the Salads Galore Turkey Burger (disappointed with those cheap veggie chips and they only gave me 11!) and it was $12. One co-worker got the salmon salad which was $14; she added shrimp (she only got FOUR) and eggs 2 and they charged her $12 more! I don't know what type of shrimp she got that was $3 EACH! $26 for a salad is crazy! Another co-worker got the salmon sandwich and a soda which was $20. I was sooooo embarrassed. Again, we liked the food, but the small amount of food and the price don't match. We cannot afford to go there often. Maybe special occasions, but definitely not once or twice a week. We always want to support restaurants in NOE and will try to patronize them again and hope they improve on pricing or increase the amount of food and PLEASE use real veggies or fries instead of the cheap imitation veggie chips. read more

This place does both and is located in a neighborhood that needs it, mostly surrounded by fast food and corner stores with fried food. No friend food here. Had the salmon salad, it was great. I called in an ordered a Anthony Davis Spud which was $10.99 and a Blackened Salmon Salad which was $11.50. I asked could the give me spinach instead of mixed greens they obliged but advised that it would am up-charge which i agreed to. Once I arrived the cashier stated that my total was $30.00, I asked how could that be she stated that they gave me a spinach Salad which is $9.00 and added the Salmon for $7.50. I politely explained that i asked for the Blackened Salmon and asked to merely change the lettuce out for spinach. They then stated that its a spinach salad. So I go to the menu and show that it is totally different salads and there in no way in hell i should pay for a $18.00 salad when a baked potato with Salmon is only $10.99. They refused to change the price I still paid for the items because I drove all the way to the east to purchase lunch for myself and co-workers. Food is really good prices are fair staff is attentive and helpful, space looks a little creepy from the outside but inside is bright clean and very nice and cheery. One of the best turkey burgers I have ever had! Big juicy and extremely flavorful. Now they do this weird side of veggie fries which is like a reconstituted potato. The East isn't entirely devoid of good eats (po'boys, seafood, Vietnamese, sould food, etc.) , but this place sticks out as a unique option. I work nearby and often want to keep it light for lunch without having to sacrifice flavor. Salads Galore is perfect for this! My favorites are their shrimp wrap and their blackened salmon sandwich (can also get the blackened salmon in a salad). If you want to heartier, they have a variety of baked potatoes dressed up with other ingredients. I haven't tried any of the spud options yet but everything has looked great.
