Wanted to give this place a try and with the great reviews I said why not.. Order the the Tikka Masala pizza on a regular crust with the spicy chicken and made it extra spicy. Overall the pizza was ok, but seemed to be very greasy. Looking at the crust, the bottom was nice and brown, but the middle was still raw. Even the cheese was not fully melted in the middle. The pizza had a strong garlicky flavor which is ok, but o didn't taste that tikki masala sauce.. I am thing they did not put any sauce in the pizza? As for it being extra spicy.. did not taste any spice at all... And I took off a star for charging extra for chicken when chicken is in the description of the pizza on the menu.. you would think that if chicken is on the description that it would be included on the pizza. For now I would not recommend this place.. but I will give them 1 more chance too see if today was one of those off days. read more

I attended an event in the same complex, but was pretty hungry after having had only ice cream for breakfast (don't judge LOL). I had seen signs for Pizza Twist awhile back with the "Coming Soon" sign. I was glad to see it had opened and decided to check it out and pick up something before heading home. It's brand new, so it was nice and clean inside. It's a very colorful brand with the main color being red. There is one TV in the dining area. It's a fast casual spot, order at the service counter, pay and they will call out your order. The man (who I assumed to be the owner) was really nice. So, the "twist" in the name refers to the Indian inspired flavors and toppings. However, they also offer the traditional pizza toppings. I chose the chicken tikka masala pizza in the persona size and it was definitely a different take! My brain and mouth were trying to coordinate their steps (in a good way) LOL. I LOVED the crust of the pizza and the ingredients were wholesome. The toppings were generously placed on top. I look forward to trying out more Indian-inspired flavors! Stay Friends! read more

All the Indian favorites you love i.e. butter chicken, chicken masala and etc on a pizza! I had the chicken butter chicken pizza. I thought the butter sauce would have exchange for the marinara sauce but it didn't. Come to think of it, it didn't have a sauce but cheese and chicken with onions. It did have the taste of Indian spice but to me, it didn't taste like butter chicken. It's good tho! They have so many other items like pasta and wings I will have to try out next. My fiance and I drove by Pizza Twist for months while they were setting up their Chesapeake location. After looking at their menu, we were super excited to give them a try because of the unique selection. We finally gave it a try last week and it was absolutely delicious! I had the 10" butter chicken pizza and he had the 10" chicken tikka masala pizza. We really could have split a pizza, because we only ended up eating about half of it. It was so flavorful and a great spin on these traditional Indian dishes. My only gripe was the menu advertised the pizzas as a "chicken pizza" but it was a $2 upcharge for the chicken. We liked our pies so much that we went back and tried their pesto pizza, this time with fried paneer. This one was not as much of a home run for me, it was kind of bland. But the spicy lamb breadsticks we ordered were a hit! Beware of the green chilies though, they can really bring the heat. read more

We stopped by Pizza Twist in Chesapeake last night while running errands and decided to dine in. We ordered the chicken tikka masala on thin crust, and it was really good. The Achari sauce they gave us to try was amazing and took the pizza to the next level. Just a little suggestion though, maybe a bit more tikka masala sauce on the pizza cause we think it needs a little more sauce. Overall, it was a good experience for us. We have had several experiences at this location in the evening....they consistently completely make a mess of the order. Most recently, on Dec 15, we did a phone order that was completely wrong when came to pick it up. We then went through it was supposed to have been in person and they STILL completely made a mess of a second time! My advice, stay away, stay far away! Noticed this place when I went to pick up the license plate for my new car at Priority Honda. I googled it and was immediately excited by their very unique pizza offerings. I bought a small Spicy Lamb Kabob pizza, mild spicy. It was everything I dreamed it would be. Exotic spices. Seasoned slices of lamb with red onions and jalapeños. Just what I needed to get me out of my food rutt. I will say mild spicy was almost too spicy for me. My husband says he's interested in trying extra spicy, but I'm good. Today we had the pleasure of getting pizza from Pizza Twist at their new Chesapeake location. It was . They have lots of Vegan options!! We got a large pizza that was half tandoori & half chicken tikka (vegan) and a small Bombay garlic. The dough was perfect, cheese was melty, ingredients fresh, seasoning was fragrant but not overpowering and service was really good. I would suggest double triple checking your order is plant based. Cool vibe and this place smells amazing. They can customize for you . I have a ginger allergy and had no issues with them omitting it. You can customize the spice level as well. Ordered Bombay garlic w chicken relish, chicken Tikka masala yummy but spicy. As others have said you pay extra for chicken even though it's in the name. Paneer pakkora. I've had two experiences since this place opened just recently. The first was decent and the pictures below are from it. My only complaint was the garlic Bombay pizza, since I'm vegan I got the plant-based version of everything. The garlic Bombay pizza had no garlic flavor or any flavor really at all. It had a small amount of some sauce but it was the tiniest drizzle. I wouldn't get this pizza again. My second experience was horrible, but I still have hope for them lol. I ordered online through their website. I got vegan cheese bread and plant-based all meat pizza (also the mix and matching of "vegan" and "plant-based" is sort of annoying). The vegan cheese bread was perfectly fine, but the plant-based all meat pizza was just a non-vegan real meat pizza. I was horrified and so off put. I had to drive all the way back and requested a refund because my appetite was ruined. At first they said they would just remake it because they don't offer refunds. But I insisted on a refund because I didn't have the appetite to eat there anymore. They couldn't figure out how to refund me through my card and just gave me cash (in which they kept the tip, but whatever) There were some other vegans in the lobby that heard me and I felt bad because I don't want to create a bad image for them, there are barely any vegan option places in Chesapeake so I'm really hoping they clear this up and pay extra attention to vegan/plantbased orders read more

I was in the shopping center and my son and I decided to check this place out! We were a little hungry and weren't in a hurry so we went inside. I really just wanted to see if they offered cauliflower pizza. They do!! Bingo!! They already had my vote. I ended up ordering a medium cauliflower crust with marinara sauce, spinach and mushrooms. My son ordered a small hand tossed with marinara sauce and pepperoni. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We were told 15 minutes but it ended up being almost 30 minutes. They were training the cooks in the back and they accidentally used halal pepperoni so they had to start over. My son loved his pepperoni pizza and my cauliflower pizza was delicious. The crust was a bit burned but was still good. They have all types of pizza variations, most of which are Indian. They also offer wings, salads, pasta and breadsticks. They are set apart by other pizza places because they are gluten free, plant based and locally sourced. On paper, a fusion of Indian Food and pizza sounds like it will work. However, Ive tried the tandoori chicken and butter chicken pizzas from Pizza Twist and neither were good. While the tandoori chicken itself did taste like tandoori chicken, the butter chicken was unrecognizable as butter chicken. The pizza itself was just not good. While they do let you request different levels of cilantro, we went with the default amount and it overpowered everything else on the pizza. We ate a few slices of each and gave up. read more

Placed an $80+ order online. 2 halal butter chicken pizzas and 2 halal beef pepperoni pizzas, 10 halal garlic parm wings and a side of fries. Said my order should be ready by 3 pm, which was about 30 mins late. When i arrived at 3, i was told another 15 mins. I went and sat in my car, and someone came out and told me that they don't have garlic parm for the wings, so i switched to lemon pepper. When i finally got the food, everything is sealed shut with stickers that has what's in the box on each of them,so i didn't bother to check. When i got home and opened, there were 3 pepperonis and 1 butter chicken. The wings were so overcooked that they were inedible, I mean dryer than jerky. And they charge an extra $.40 cents for bone in halal wings. One of the pepperonis looked different, so we figured that was pork and tossed it. Overall, as expensive as the food was they definitely should have the quality check on point. My husband and son liked the pepperoni, which is why i gave 2 stars. They have excellent gluten-free and vegan options, which is extremely rare for a pizza place. This meant more, especially since we've been to the other franchise (Twist) restaurant in Virginia and the food was not as good. 10 out of 10 at this location and we have been visiting this spot regularly since it opened.
