Reyna was a gem! Very personable, reasonable pricing and quick turnaround. I went to have a dress altered. She took her time adjusting it to ensure a good fit and suggested darting so my alterations didn't change the style of the dress. I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience and can't wait to wear it!

I like to support local/small businesses, this place is walking distance to my house so I gave it a try. Took 3 suits to get altered and at first it seemed like it was quality work, had pants hemmed and buttons added for suspenders, the hem on one of the pants came undone, no biggie, it happens. The buttons weren't placed properly and when I took everything back the owner took care of it, although at first she claimed that it was not her stitching but nobody else had workd on my clothes. Took an additional 3 suits for the same thing, figured she stands by her work, let's give it another try. Dropped everything off on a Thursday, she asked when I would like them by, I asked if the following Thursday worked, she agreed, I left. Next Thursday comes around and I receive a call that she is behind on work and my clothes were not ready, I said no problem, I can pick them up the next day...the next day, Friday I receive another call, my stuff is not ready that she would call me later in the day to let me know when I can pick my things up or if could wait 'til Monday, I said Monday is fine but please make sure it doesn't go past Monday, she said ok and that was that. Monday comes around and I text her to ask what time I can drop by, she said anytime after 3 works, I said ok. A couple hours later she texts asking if I could pick up my items from her home, apparently she no longer is at the shop where I dropped off my clothes or she could deliver them, at this point Im a bit aggravated I asked her to deliver them. Brought them by, said she'd have a new place by December, took her payment and left. Tried the clothes on, everything seemed ok until I went to put on the suspenders, the buttons were near the zipper, who wears their suspenders near the zipper, it's almost funny...sad thing is, she marked all 3 pants were she would be placing the buttons, I feel like she half assed the work and did it last minute even though I gave her 4 additional days. I texted her to let her know her work and service were horrible and she replied with "it's not a problem, I can fix them"....no thanks lady, I will take my business to a professional!

She created an opening on this dress and adjusted the size.

However, the experience my mother and I had at this establishment was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it. My mother brought in the dress she planned to wear to my wedding for alterations. When we picked it up, we noticed several blue ink marks on the dress. I calmly said, "Oh my goodness, could you please take a look at these stains?" At that point, the man I believe to be Abel immediately began yelling at me, told me to "shut up," and insisted I was making a big deal out of the situation. He repeatedly used profanity while speaking to us. Throughout the interaction, I remained calm and chose not to argue or escalate the situation. His wife then came out with a wet cloth and attempted to remove the ink marks. While she was apologetic and made an effort to address the issue, the stains were not completely removed. Upon further inspection, we also noticed that the hem of the dress was uneven. We paid over $200 for these alterations and expected to receive quality workmanship and professional customer service. We were not asking for a favor--we were paying customers expecting the service we had paid for. My mother and I are hardworking people who make a conscious effort to support small businesses because we value the work they do. We also believe in treating others with respect, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, that same respect was not extended to us. While I appreciate the wife's attempt to remedy the issue, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable and unprofessional. WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR A DISCOUNT AND WE PAID THE FULL AMOUNT WE AGREED ON. Based on the quality of the work and, more importantly, the way we were treated, I cannot recommend this business. I will not be returning, and I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. What should have been a joyful and memorable part of preparing for my wedding with my mother was instead overshadowed by the way we were treated. Abel's behavior turned what should have been a special experience into a deeply upsetting one

When I finally found "the one" it was at the absolute top of my budget and still needed number of alterations to make it my dream dress. Ling story short I was able to find the dress for much less than at the store but between the original size of the gown and losing more weight for the wedding than I originally planned, I ended up with a dress that was easily 4 sizes too big and still needed work to to change some of the dress to the ideal state. Linda made it all happen!!! From making it fit like a dream to lining it just the way I asked to bustling it and my veil to perfection, she did it ALL. I don't think I've ever gone to get professional alterations before, but this was a special dress…read morefor a special occasion, so I searched the phone book. After being discouraged by a couple of unfriendly locations on the phone, I came to the number for North Riverside Cleaners. A little farther from my neighborhood than I wanted it to be, but I thought, "Why not call them? For giggles...." I spoke with a woman named Bonnie. She said she couldn't give me an exact price for alterations because she needed to see the dress. Understood. I asked how late they were open to find out I had only 45 minutes till closing, but I had to get the darn dress in, so I got in the car and booked. Bonnie was a sweet little woman with short, doll-like but slightly graying curls. She was dressed like she came straight out of a 1950s issue of Better Homes and Gardens with an A-line skirt past the knee and a pretty, conservative blouse. The shop itself mirrored her antiquity: old, wooden paneling; a vintage-looking sign out front that lets passers-by know they do alterations; homey, not sterile and steamy like most cleaners.... Bonnie greeted me with a humble and hospitable smile and knew I was the one she had recently spoken to on the phone. She took a look at the dress and keenly advised me of what needed to be done since there were different fabrics and particular frills that needed to be tackled. I could tell she was a seamstress fit for the task. Within minutes and well before closing time, she showed me to the fitting room, pinned what needed to be pinned, took down my information and said she would call me when the alterations were done. All this with a gentle air. I felt like I've known her since I was a child and knew I could trust her. She just made me feel so at home; I almost thought she'd bring out a plate of cookies and some milk! Not much more than a week later the dress was finished and I was very impressed by the handiwork. Such fine and delicate material was perfectly stitched, and the frills looked as if they hadn't been altered or reconstructed at all. Great place, great work, great satisfaction. I will bring all of my cleaning/alteration needs here. Go see Bonnie. She'd love the business!
