I love this place! I'm a big fan of salads and have desperately missed a salad bar place! They are extremely pricey but it is really clean! Staff is very friendly when it is not crowded, but this last I went when crowded and they seemed to really rush the process. Completely customizable salad with so many different ingredients you could eat here weekly and not get bored. This place can get a bad rap because the salads are relatively expensive considering the "fast casual" atmosphere, and add-ons like avocado and meat protein can add up! A large salad with avocado and no extra meat, with a bread roll and iced tea is $11. That's not my complaint here - it's all about whole foods that are conveniently prepared and ready to walk out with. I only give 4 stars because they are *always* light handed when I ask for extra of any topping (e.g. chickpeas - the first handful contains about 8 garbanzos and the requested "extra" handful contains about 6 garbanzo beans.....). Freshly prepared self-service salad bar. Tasted just as good as the ones I had back in Houston. Admittedly, my wallet was crying when paying for the full-size salad, but come on! They're really generous and allowed you to put as many toppings as you want on your bowl, so it's completely worth it. I usually order a to-go box and finish it as 2 meals. Salata is generally a great afternoon bite. They offer a good variety and almost always have zero customers so the wait times are low. It's a bit on the pricier side of healthy eats in CStat but after a few days or week of packing in the carbs, Salata is a great way to make it up. Only major complaint is that the Salad Artists always seem to be in a hurry when moving down the bar. As in the words of the great Lao Tzu of the Tao Tse Ching: have patience my friends! Edit: i would like to add that they do sometimes hoe you when it comes to your proteins. I love the herb vinaigrette dressing! Kids meal is healthy and my kid loves it! Is pricy but very fresh vegetables. They only offer juice boxes for kids meal and not fountain drinks. We both had a salad but I had a piece of artesian bread and salmon as extras, he had avocado. Don't waster your time getting the extras. The salmon was cold and hard as a rock from being overcooked and tasted fishy. I couldn't eat it. The bread was hard as a brick, inedible. Other than that, I loved my salad. It is another souper salad type establishment except you don't get to fix your own - the attendants add what you tell them. And they are practically counting every little item they add. I watched her portion my mushrooms down to a detail. So I was quite shocked to get to the register and get a $12 tab for that small salad and tea. It's just your average chain restaurant that serves you salad and you watch them add on various toppings, basically the healthiest fast food you can get. I think it's much better than SF Soup Company and Sweet Green by far! You can add as many toppings as you like for the base cost (only $8 for a large salad bowl) and protein costs extra except for legumes. I love the variety of toppings and huge selection of dressings. I've been counting down the days till opening and had my first taste today. I was hoping this would be a buffet style salad bar, but unfortunately it's not :/ They have 10 people behind a glass counter using a plastic teaspoon to fulfill your requests. The prices would be so much cheaper if they were not paying such a large staff to do what we could do on our own. I originally ordered a medium salad, but after seeing that I would not fill the bowl (since teaspoons are very small) I asked to be downsized to a small. Somehow in the course of that, I ended up with croutons in my salad. I don't eat bread, so to say that least, I was surprised when I discovered this while eating. The best salad I've had at a restaurant, although since this is a salad restaurant you would expect their salads to be top notch. I was actually full, the salad was flavorful and fun to eat, and they have a huge variety of things to put in your salad. I got the regular sized salad with pesto chicken for the meat and added avocado ($1). My total came to $12. It took me a minute to go through the dozens and dozens of things I could put in my salad. The staff was pleasant and walked me through each section. I wound up with a heavy bowl of things ranging from more standard things like black and green olives, bell peppers, tomatoes to more unusual items like pumpkin seeds and bean sprouts. Restaurant is clean, the salad bar looks well put together and organized. The plastic utensils have a sort of dark chrome look to them, which I thought was a nice touch over the usual plain white utensils. The salads are slightly more expensive than your standard dinner salad that'll run around $8-9, but I am more than happy to pay an extra $3 for a salad that gets me full and not hungry two hours later. And taste-wise, well, you make it so that's on you, right? My salad with the herb vinaigrette was delicious. A word of advice; price-wise this place isn't going to make you happy if you're the salad type who just gets lettuce, tomato, chicken, and dressing. The value comes in exploring the diversity of toppings, most of which are included in the price of the salad. There's over 50 things you can put in your salad. Went here yesterday and was so impressed. The ingredients looked very fresh and are laid out cafeteria style and you pick what you want and the server adds it to the salad. I've gone a few times when I'm in a pinch because it's close by and healthy. I've gotten employees SMIRKING at me when I ask questions about something.
