Can't say enough good things about Martin. When the other guys, don't care plumbing said we needed close to 10K in work. After charging us to drain and refill our antifreeze. We gave Martin a call for a second opinion. He noticed right away that the other guys didn't even refill our coolant for the amount we paid for. He was able to get a solution within 24 hours. He understood that we had two under two, one being a newborn and needed our AC up and running pronto. We had an issue arise and he was able to come next day. Was made aware of Martin and his crew via referal. Performed a free estimate to diagnose our issue of a water leak occuring around our interior airconditioning unit. Gave a very fair estimate for the requested job, which was a AC/heater to heatpump replacement due to the old equipment being, well... old and leaky. With favoriable prices and easy communication, we went ahead with this business. Once the HOA out of the way, we got scheduled for equipment replacement within a week, and got the job all done in the same day. I went on Nextdoor to search "AC repair", and to local, small businesses came up, and I left a message for the first one, and the second one picked up the phone. It was HILDA, of Salgado AC & Heating, and I told her of my experience and she was friendly, attentive, empathetic, and she assured me that I would be well taken care of. And then she proved it. She said she get back to me after checking with MARTIN SALGADO, propritor AND person in the field, performing the repairs, a career of over 20 years. 20 minutes later she calls back, "Martin is doing a repair in Los Angeles but is finishing up early in says he can be there by 4 PM (I'm in Riverside). She called me back and says, "he'll be there by 2 PM". Then texts me to say he hit a bit of traffic and will be 20 minutes late. (Who does that?!) And then Martin arrives in his new, white company van that he says is soon going to have colorful rap on it for more visibility. With him as his assistant, Jake, a newer, but very experienced technician in his own right. They were polite, friendly, and grateful for the Pepsi's I offered them. He went to work, removing panels, disassembling casings, testing things with wires, studying digital readouts, and first, there was a capacitor that needed replacing, and he quoted me a very acceptable price. We got it running again (but upon inspecting the unit outside, he found that that there was way too much Freon pumped into it (by the Right Time Home Services people), and it should have been, for my size unit, at around 125, but was instead hovering north of 185. So he started releasing some of the Freon, and quite a bit was being released but the number wasn't going down quickly enough, and he concluded that the existing Freon must be contaminated, which sometimes happens if you store the Freon like a gas instead of a liquid, or a liquid instead of a gas, I don't really remember, it got a bit technical, and he proved what he was saying by spraying my Freon on his arm and he knew he was right because there was no burning. (He risked his skin to prove his point!) He then offered me 6 pounds of new Freon at a very reasonable price. And then the pipe that was supposed to get a lot colder wasn't getting colder and wasn't building up the telltale condensation, so he opened up the unit again to check the compressor, and found it too hot to the touch, a telltale sign. Using my garden hose, he cooled it down. And then set up for a compressor test, which was scary, because if it wasn't working, we are looking at a $4000-$4500 fix. he hooked up the wires, or whatever he does, and tested it. And he said, "The compressor is good." Now, I ask you, who else would do that? It would be so easy for somebody to say, "your compressor is shot", and charge me four thousand dollars. At this point it was getting pretty hot outside so I went back inside while he continue to jumpstart the compressor. I don't know what that entails, but I think he was unplugging it, plugging it back in, restarting, whatever he did, he came back inside and said it's working. he offered me a new air filter as they always do, but he looked at mine and said it still looked pretty good, again who does that?! NO diagnostic fee. I only paid for the 6 pounds of Freon, a new capacitor, and I don't want to tell you what I paid because he might have to raise his prices at some point, but even if I pay double, it would be worth it. (Alright, I'll give you a hint - it was LESS than $300!) from here on out, I am calling nobody else except Martin Salgado (and Hilda!) of Salgado AC & Heating. Almost forgot, later that night, Hilda called me back to make sure I was happy and everything went smoothly. Again, who does that?! Salgado AC & Heating does that. I was so pleased I just had to write this review. And now you can benefit from it too. Support small businesses, support good people. They really do care. read more

Mr. Salgado was extremely professional. It's been a long time since I have had such a hard working, knowledgeable, super honest (not trying to scam me) AC company work on my unit. Mr. Salgado came to my home with with his equipment and testers showing that he was ready to help me find out what was wrong with my unit. I was being nosy and he was professional about it. Do not use this business - Martin is a crook. He charged us a ton of money and come to find out he didn't even finish the job! We suffered through a terrible summer with crappy AC & now that we need heat, we found out Martin never hooked up the heater nor did he install a vent for the carbon dioxide to exit our house! The gas line is about 2 feet short - I just had another repairman show me actual pictures of the terrible work. Don't waste your money or put your family's health at risk. read more

This morning my husband and I realized our AC wasn't working and it was supposed to be 111° outside :( we called 15 different AC guys, all of which were either not taking any new appointments or didn't do weekend/emergency visits. Hands down the best Heating and Air company to hire for your heating and cooling needs! Our Ac broke down yesterday, we called almost all the ac repair companies possible. But they had no availability until a few days to a week out. Virtual learning started for my kids and its no fun to do anything in 107 plus heat. This morning as my husband was driving to work, he notice a AC company fixing our neighbors AC. My wife's dog decided to chew thru the wiring of our a/c condenser. My wife looked on Yelp and found Martin. She left him my info he called back within the hr. We set up a appt time . He txt to inform me he would be available sooner than we agreed and asked if I wanted him to come sooner.
