This place is great! I just recently started coming here to see Dr. Slaughter and the staff are all so very friendly, the office is clean and I get seen SO quickly each time. As far as Dr. Slaughter, she is a breath of fresh air. She's not robotic, she actually listens. If things need changing or testing, they make sure to take care of it. I am SO happy my therapist referred me here bc I was very unhappy with my last psychiatrist. There isn't a single thing that I don't like... yet ;) and hopefully, never! read more

As soon as I told Dr. D I would not do TMS he had no interest in me, He even yawned during the session. When I mentioned things that bothered me, he came back with short tart answers. The five stars is for DR. Garza. I give the office staff and insurance zero stars. I went for an appointment this morning and was turned away. I did not get to see my doctor. The office staff claimed as they do every time that they do not accept my insurance. That is a lie because the insurance company says so. They say they do accept my insurance. I'm actually surprised about all the negative reviews on here because I've only had really positive experiences here. I've only been coming here for the past few months so I'm wondering if things have recently changed. Dr. Jen is the best! Very personable and encouraging. She's very easy to talk to. And when I send her a message on the portal, her response times are quick. Also, the medical assistant staff is very friendly and efficient. I haven't had a bad interaction with any of them. The front desk staff is also quick and thorough. Any time I arrive, I wait less than 5 minutes to be called and taken back. I'm used to waiting a long time to be called at offices. So I'm hoping that it was just a bad period they went through. read more

One of the most frustrating experiences I've had. Ironic people come here for mental health help and all that you get is MORE stress. I made an appointment to see a Doctor for the first time 1/27/23 @ 9:45am. I was told it was CRUCIAL I fill out all the paper work 3 days in advance (which I did) and pay prior to the visit. I thought paying before the actual appointment was strange but did it anyway since I didn't want to risk losing the appointment. At 7:30am the day of the appointment I received a call saying the Dr called in sick and I had been rescheduled to 2/21. I found this frustrating since that day was not workable for me & they did not ask. With such a strict cancelation policy I wold assume you would make sure the date is workable for all parties. Especially the first appointment. So I called back to let them know I couldn't do the new date but was met with a "phone out of service" message. I thought that was odd but called the other numbers from the site. I called all 3 locations, plus the number I got the voicemail from and they were all disconnected. Then I check social. Instagram was gone but Facebook was still up. So I messaged them there. Still have not received a call back. I called on and off all day and never got through. But my payment sure did get through.. Since it was Friday, I waited for Monday to try again. I finally get a ring on Monday but waited on hold for 30 min and ended up just leaving a VM requesting someone to call me back. Never heard back. It should not be this difficult to get ahold of a person. It looks so unprofessional & comes across a predatory and like a scam. You can't require patients to pay PRIOR to the visit, cancel and then just seemingly disappear. Pay your phone bills and learn what good commutation is Salience Health. Don't think I will be going here after all since it seems like the patient is not a priority. Your mental health is important. I don't have a problem with the psychiatrists or the doctors. However, their patient portal is terrible. It is near impossible to book or reschedule appointments on the app. I received several text messages to complete forms for my next visit even though I was already an established patient. The message clearly says "You will need to complete this at least three business days before your appointment on 11/06/2024. Incomplete forms will result in appointment cancellation and rescheduling." There was no need to "re-establish care" because I was already a patient with Salient Health at a location nearby. The only reason I moved to the McKinney location was because Dr. Conn "doesn't handle AIDS patients" ( I don't have HIV btw). Anyways, I never filled out their forms and I was expecting my appointment to be cancelled, it was NOT cancelled and I was charged $100. I asked for a refund nicely and I was ignored. read more

I am delighted to find such an accommodating office in McKinney. The personnel are efficient and timely, and I couldn't ask for better treatment. This is how a psychiatric office should operate. The nurse practioner, Charlieann, is well prepared and is ready with a set of promising statistics when asked about the success rate. She also has the neuro physiology down well and can offer a thorough explanation of how TMS works on certain lobes in the brain. I am now handing out cards to my friends in my support group and hope to carry the message of this wonderful treatment. the LSCW, Marquetta, is a veteran and is precise in asking pertinent questions concerning my history, I can see by discussing issues with her that I would greatly benefit from ongoing therapy. This is an epic review for an epic treatment. I only wish I would have found you when I was inpatient at the Caron Foundation. read more

If I could put negative stars I would. I don't write reviews but I feel helpless with this business and this feels like the only thing to do is warn others. I had requested a psychiatry appointment and I paid my copay and waited a MONTH, just to see a RN, and she's unqualified to be a psychiatrist or give psychiatric treatment. The test she put in, my insurance didn't even cover because my insurance even knows a RN isn't qualified to put in a psychology test. I've called 5 times requesting to speak to a supervisor and they put me on hold for 30 mins just to tell me someone will call me back and not a single person has called me when I've literally requested 5 times. This whole business is unprofessional, unqualified, and don't care about patient care. Please save yourself time and energy. I still haven't been seen when I requested a regular primary care appointment when I called in February to make the initial appointment... it's almost May... and they've called me to reschedule cause the provider was sick, and told me I could come in June... Come here if you never want to see the doctor but once. If they know you're paying out of pocket, and on Medicaid, and struggling... And you still want nothing but expensive therapies and medicines recommended and denied. Want a lady that's super cold and judgy? Get Kimberly Jones most likely and that's what you get. You can try to jump through hoodles to prove you're not a junkie but they make it hard. I was at quest diagnostics--gas being what it is and being in the middle of nowhere--4... yes, FOUR times trying to get my screen done and be super compliant and kept blaming quest even though I sat through waiting for a code for 2 hours and came back and forth and back and forth and went up to the lab 4x in one week! Want some extra frustration in your life? Salience health excels. Even working with IT the portal doesn't work on my device. It's been this way since the BEGINNING. I have kept staff apprised and over, and over, and OVER, to the same people, I have asked for direct emails, NO ONE listens. They just keep sending shit to the defunct patient portal, making me go through extra hoops for ANYTHING. Despite knowing my anxiety issues. Love being on hold for 15-30 minutes for someone to judge you, not listen to you, ignore you, go here! You might get lucky enough to get Kimberly Jones.. I loathe my appointments with her so much I have chest pain before for days. Want someone to brush you off completely and make you feel like jittery shit too? Kimberly is your gal. She's likely who you'll get, not any real help. Oh and expensive medicine you didn't ask for and when you come out with side effects she puts you on something worth the same exact side effects. Left this practice to go somewhere better because they acted like I was an inconvenience when I arrived on time to my appointment with all of my paperwork done but didn't get there 15 minutes early? The text said to get there 15 minutes early OR fill out paperwork ahead of time. They gave up my appt and stuck me with a doctor that "didn't know what to do with me" and just passed me on to get some random testing done that I'd have to pay out of pocket for. This has to be the most frustrating office. Before each appointment they make sure submit a survey. When it is the day of your appointment you will spend a good amount of time waiting for someone to answer. Then they ask you all the medications your taking and dosage. WHY? The medications are in my chart and I filled out that stupid survey. To get a refill on your prescription you have to fill out a medication request. Where is the request button on the website???? CANT FIND IT! Recently, I had blood work done at their lab downstairs. I never saw my lab slip and Roland decided he was going to drug test me without my knowledge and now I have to pay for it!!! I had a 2:20pm appt for my daughter today at Salience. I arrived at 2:20pm and the girl at the front desk refused to let my daughter see the Dr because I didn't arrive 15 min early. I spoke to a young man who said he was the manager and he said I could wait until 4pm and see a Dr then. He did not have the snotty tone or look that the girl had but also did not help. I took the time off work, drive 30 min each way to have my daughter see her Dr and then have snotty children refuse service and send me away. I spent well over $5k at Salience this year out of pocket and was treated like this. What dr office sends you away when you arrive at your appt time? The horrible reviews here really are accurate. Just an update - I emailed the Salience Customer Service team as Missy B suggested below. No response at all from them. No apology for making me miss work to be refused service...nothing. After playing semantics with me on my insurance provider (Blue Cross vs BCBS) she hung up on me. I called back to express my concern and her retort: " I wouldn't hang up on you. They act like they are doing us patients a favor by working... of you don't want to work don't work but don't be rude and unprofessional. No email no text letting me know and then tell me "I'm late and have to reschedule". # I got online at 1051a for my 11a they changed to 1045 so technically I was 6 min late. #2 Lisa Beaver is NEVER on time and I usually have to wait an additional 45-1.5. Stay away from Smart Health unless you don't have a choice like myself. Roland is an absolute maniac. He prescribed an anti-psychotic for my husband's mild anxiety and depression. When we went back to his follow up visit, my husband told him he was still having the same issues, and Roland told him to DOUBLE his medication, which then caused DAILY panic attacks for my husband. When he finally managed to wean himself off of the medication he still had panic attacks for several weeks even after. Roland prescribed EXTREMELY aggressive medication for a pretty minor issue and then overmedicated to the point of a near breakdown. Not only will we not be back ever, but my husband is now hesitant to try any other forms of help for his issues. Please, please try literally ANYWHERE else for your mental health issues. read more

As my mom's caregiver, we've been so very pleased with Dr Adeel Qureshi's care and wonderful bedside manner. He takes the time to listen and address any concerns. HOWEVER, the facility is not helpful in referrals or authorizations. It shouldn't take 2 weeks and 2 days to get a referral for something that was sent out the same day by the doctor. I'm getting the runaround and no one tells us the same thing, doesn't explain it properly, and some will even say "that's a good question, I'm not exactly sure". (This is answer to me asking when Dr sent the X-ray order over "stat", what exactly does that mean? Did he send it over to radiology, or to another slow and seemingly nonfunctioning department to sit and wait till someone is good and ready to act on it?") And don't e en get me started on the slew of emails that are junk and cause you to miss the important ones, or the million texts and calls after you've submitted the SAME paperwork from last week, or even a call on the phone to see if you're on your way or need help navigating to the same office you've been to 15 times in 2 months. They are a waste of time and energy and obviously don't allow their doctors to even care for patients properly, even when it's STAT. This could end up costing us mom's knee replacement surgery date, even though I scheduled and fulfilled our end on time and as asked. Why can't we expect the same from them??!! Very hard sell with their TMS treatments. Went in for a consultation with Dr Zara, and after hearing that I've tried a number of anti-depressants but mentioning only a few, she immediately said I was resistant and pushed hard for this brain zapping treatment, glossing over many facts that I just discovered via my own research. Minimized possible side effects, some patients saying they had permanent tinnitus and headaches from this. Lots of maintenance upkeep. Felt like I was getting maneuvered, and they insisted that I make a future follow up appointment which I did not want to do, and had a lot of trouble canceling it. Overall I felt this is a mental health factory interested in only their profits. This is solely based on my singular experience and others may feel they are getting good treatment from the many other doctors there. read more

It takes a lot for me to leave a review. I went in for my first check up and had a ton of blood taken. Dr. Dar was very serious about checking everything so that I can reach my optimal health. I had zero symptoms that my blood work came back saying that I had Lyme disease. Every time I go to the doctor and tell them I'm tired they pile on another medication. She is modest with diagnosing medication but also an advocate of diagnosing it when needed. She is the best doctor I have ever met. Addison works in her office as well in the mental health portion and she is so wise and has already helped me with My goal at getting off of medications. Both providers were very thorough, punctual and actually cared. I will never change doctors and I will recommend them to everybody. Everybody should have a complete blood work up work to avoid later complications. She even uses the results for nutritional suggestions and many other services to help us stay healthy. read more

I am 70 years old and have never had such terrible "health care" experiences in my life. It seems that good doctors leave this place, Dr Dar and Dr Quayyam. Perhaps Salience/Smart/Bent Tree needs to stick to the psychiatric side of medicine (hopefully they do a better job with it) and leave primary care to other practices that might actually care about their patients. This place is terrible. I have been having huge panic attacks and anxiety since the school year has started (I am a Teacher), and also believe I may have undiagnosed ADHD. I have seen a therapist (not associated) for 10 years and we decided I may need to seek psychiatric help to ensure I was taking the correct medications (prescribed by PCP) and to test me for ADHD. It took a lot of courage on my part to take this step. I was told I would have to have two appts (all virtual, due to pandemic, which is completely fine and preferred by me) -- the first would be someone asking me medical history questions and things related to mental health and the second would be with the person I was booked with (Dr. Brown-Witherspoon). When the day came for my appointment with Dr. Witherspoon, I logged on 10 mins early (as I was told to do) and waited for her. Once it was 15 minutes PAST my scheduled time (so I had been waiting a total of 25 mins at this point) I called the number, which was a call center. After telling the person my issue, I was put on hold (there was no apology or any sort of good customer service) and about 7 minutes later Dr. Witherspoon magically appeared in my virtual chat room. There was no apology from her for being late, no warmth from her at all. She proceeded to ask me the SAME QUESTIONS previously asked in the meeting I had prior to this appointment. She then kept pushing a qEEG test on me - despite my telling her several times I was not interested - she STILL transferred me to the specialist for that. The entire time we were in our session (a whopping 13 minutes) she never one looked AT me, nor did she smile. The bedside manner was not there for her. Which is unfortunate -- I am glad I am not a suicidal or extremely manic depressed person because I can't imagine how I would have handled this treatment. I'm also very thankful I have insurance. My bill for the 13 minutes? $500. For WHAT? Questions that are asked on every online quiz I have ever taken regarding mental health. This place wants your money, plain and simple. I would stay far away. Just absolutely horrible. I had to call my therapist about this appointment and she's made sure her practice has this place blocked/blacklisted for all of their patients. Horrible service. I met with Dr. Johnson a few months ago and he requested that I get a qEEG test done ASAP. I scheduled a follow up appointment with Dr. Johnson right after the test results came in. I made both a top priority. It has been 3 months now since my test results and he continues to cancel on me last minute and now after 4 cancellations over the past 3 months, he wants to reschedule again. They don't care about the patients, rather they are only after the dollar bill. I cannot believe this type of company would treat their patients this way and should be ashamed at such poor, un-empathic service. They also made us pay in advance, so now we are trying to get our money back for services they never provided. I was told after being a patient for months that I HAD to see Dr. Moomar. Even tho I do NOT see men. I was told I had broken rules. Yet he would not/ could not tell which one. He said " you will not be seen by any woman here, because no one wants to work with you !" Humm. So how do you make such a broad statement? There has been NO issues until he has gotten involved in my case. Seems to me he is the issue not me. How would you even make such a comment ? We started services at Salience Health a couple of months ago at the Legacy location. They suggested TMS treatment for my mother to help with depression. The TMS program is well run and we love the techs. The physicians we have seen also seem to be very thorough. HOWEVER, calling and leaving messages has been absolutely ridiculous. I have never received a call back without having to call two or three days in a row. There is always an excuse as to why this did not happen. I called Friday as my mother ended up the in ER from a medication they prescribed. I specifically asked that they call my number and not my mother's phone. They called her phone number. So I called again Monday and complained about their lack of responsibility in returning calls. I left another message that I needed to speak to someone. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. Called back again Tuesday morning....I was told they had no notes that I needed a call back. What??? MY mother was in the ER! Why would I call and not request a call back? The girl I talked to admitted they have trouble in this area and admitted they are trying to work on it. I called back and asked for a corporate office or email and was told they do not give that information out. I would highly recommend avoiding this practice. read more

The Mckinney office is so unresponsive and unprofessional when you call in for help. I called in the first time to get help with my sons meds because Dr. Johnson had recently started him on risperidone. He has epilepsy so shortly after he started the risperidone he had a few seizures and developed a twitch in his arm. I called to get help with maybe adjusting the medicine or stopping it. The doctor wasn't available so the medical assistant conferred with someone in the office and they suggested I take him to emergency. I told them I would wait to hear back from his neurologist who I had also contacted and spoken to, and he did not mention an emergency room visit so I informed them I would not be taking him to emergency. A day later a lady came to my house from Adult Protective Services saying I had refused to take my son to emergency when he was having seizures. My son has had epilepsy since he was 3 yrs old and is now 22. I know from past experience when he needs to go to emergency and I know that some busybody know-it-all in the office, either Dr. Johnson's medical assistant or the person she conferred with, called APS with a false accusation for a situation they know nothing about. May God deal with them so severely. My son has now been taking the risperidone for a month and a half and his blood draw recently showed his dosage was outside the therapeutic range so I wanted to increase it but I need a new prescription because he will run out too soon before it can be refilled. I called twice and was told two people would give me a call each time and it's now 8:30 pm and no call. I have never dealt with a medical office that does not care about following up on something this important but can take the time to make a bogus APS complaint. Dr. Crumpacker has managed my care for about 8-9 months. When he had his own office in Plano I had a good experience going to him. He is an excellent Dr. However, He has since moved to Smart Health and Wellness off of Communications Rd, in Plano. The office staff there is very rude and inflexible. I arrived for my latest appointment 8-9 minutes late due to something beyond my control. The receptionist said that I could not keep the appointment because I was 10 minutes late and had not completed my update forms. I explained that nothing had changed. Her answer was too bad. I'd have to reschedule. She was totally inflexible and rude. I've sent Dr. a Crumpacker a message but I doubt that his office staff has forwarded it on to him. On the other hand, their office told me once several months ago that they needed to cancel and reschedule an appointment that I was to have within a few days for a month later due to a meeting Dr. Crumpacker had to go to. I did not argue. They obviously seem to think that patients don't count for anything and that we need them more than they need us. read more

There are other options you can choose for your care and I highly recommend you steer clear of Smart Health & Wellness. Doctors cancel appointments the day of your appointment. There is very little concern for patient's wellbeing. Doctors and staff have no clue who you are and require you to fill out online paperwork, which they do not seem to even read.
