This Sally's is located next to the Hallmark store in the Walmart shopping center. I stop by Sally's pretty infrequently, and only when I'm looking for hard to find items of sorts. On this occasion, I was in need of teeny tiny clear stretchy rubber bands. The employee referred to them more simply as "braid rubber bands". I wandered down the three aisles until I found a package of this random item on my own. The single employee working was busy working the cashier, but no matter because it only took a few minutes to find what I needed. I actually waited longer in line than I did locating my rubber bands. I visited this location this past Thursday and asked for a 20 volume bleach. I explained that I only wanted to bleach out my new hair growth so that I could add a new color. The woman told me that it couldn't be done. She pointed to several different items on shelves but wasn't helpful at all. I was looking for tweezers also. She asked me if I was ready to check out and I told her that I didn't have any items to check out. The amusing part was she could clearly see this fact. Sally Beauty Supply has been there for me at the inception of a number of terrible ideas. Whether it was hair extensions I felt qualified to put in myself, a spray tan I thought I could DIY, or, most recently, bleaching my own roots per YouTube tutorial, Sally has always been there to supply me with what I ((don't)) need. The employees at this Sally's location are friendly, but seem to be in no rush to assist customers and get them out the door. Maybe that's corporate strategy intended to increase impulse buying?? When I was here today there were two employees at the check out stand helping out two separate customers. Excellent, but there were also three customers waiting alongside the checkout stand with questions. The first employee barely acknowledged the waiting customers when they addressed her with their question, but after a few moments had passed the second employee let the customers know he would help them in just a minute. Like the reviewer below, I would also agree that the employees are less than helpful. They don't attempt to ask if you need help and don't have much to say when I ask questions about their products. They look miserable- like they can't wait to get out of work. Oh well, it doesn't seem like there is any manager/supervisor type of person so I accept that this is just the way it is... Luckily I know my way around Sally's and the website has customer reviews to help you decide on products. That does mean that I have to do research online before coming in since I can't rely on the employees which is just a little inconvenient. This Sally's is the worst! I went in to exchange three boxes of hair toner for either a credit or a different shade. When I walked in, the worker stood at the back of the store and just stared at me as I waited by the register. She finally walked up, took her place behind the register and didn't say a word to me. So I said good morning to her. No response. Okay. I explained that I didn't use the shade of toner I had purchased and wanted to get a credit or possibly select a different shade of the same toner. The worker examined my receipt and explained that she could not issue a credit because my purchase was over 60 days old. She said Sally's policy is not issue merchandise credit at all. I thought that was odd since the back of the receipt explained the policy and that was not it. I figured no big deal, I would just do an even exchange for a different shade. She refused to do that too. She said she could not do anything, no credit, no exchange because my purchase was too old. From Sally's web site "After 60 days or without a receipt, you will be offered an in-store merchandise credit in the form of a Merchandise Return Gift Card, for the lowest selling price of the item(s) returned within the past 60 days before return." This was also what was stated on the back of my receipt. She said she couldn't help me and told me to have a nice day. In other words, she wasn't going to be bothered so I should just get out. So I asked her "What if I didn't have my receipt?" She explained she could do an even exchange in that case. So this location actually holds it against you if you have an old receipt, whereas if I had no receipt she could have done the exchange. Makes sense. NOT! So I asked her "So if I were to take these to the Sally's down the street without the receipt, I could do an exchange there." Her reply "No, because I would have to call them and tell them this is older than 60 days. I already know it since you do have a receipt." I told her to go ahead and call all the stores in Las Vegas just in case I do decide to exchange the toner elsewhere. What a joke. Calling another store would require some effort on her behalf (ie would actually require her to work) and that clearly goes against her core values. I should file a corporate complaint. This store is clearly not following the corporate return policy. The staff is not only incompetent, but are bothered when they are asked to provide service to a customer. read more

I come to this Sally's quite often, its really hit or miss. Some of the workers are nice (the caucasian girl with the teased black hair is always really kind and helpful) and some are not. I never catch their names because they never wear nametags. I asked a worker (scrawny white girl with glasses) if they carried nail powders and she literally shrugged her shoulders and said "i don't know", didn't even bother to check for me or look up any items relating to it. Super unprofessional and just straight weird lol. The older women that work there are also super rude and lazy and literally have little to no product knowledge of any of their merchandise whatsoever. Its super annoying to deal with so I just don't even bother asking for any of their help. I had recently been frequenting this Sally's for a few specific items and found the prices for those particular things to be fair and the selection is nice. After looking around the store I noticed that most of the other merchandise is overpriced even with the Sally discount, so I can't ever see buying anything except those few specific items that I have been stopping in for. The customer service has been hit and miss with mostly misses. My last visit had me looking for the next closest Sally's on yelp upon exiting the store since I can't see returning to this location after the service I experienced. The female working had a name badge that said "store manager" yet she was hardly what I would consider management material. Not only was this store manager rude, but she was wearing a shirt that had vulgar language across the top of it. I wanted to make an exchange and she said since I used a coupon it wasn't going to be easy for her to do and that she would have to refuse me a receipt since she needed it to fix her records that would be messed up later all because I wanted to exchange an item that states is exchangeable and returnable on the receipt. He helped me out and explained the best ways to dye my hair while finding me a coupon and getting me set up with a sally's rewards card. Not only did he help me really well the first time but I came back in a few days later to use this coupon I had earned and the manager and another lady (didn't catch her name) were super nice and helpful as well.
