I had a very disappointing experience at Ulta today. I went in to purchase several DIME products and redeem my free birthday gift, only to be told they were completely out of birthday gifts and had no idea when they would be getting more in. To make matters worse, I tried to use a coupon I had received just three days ago, and the cashier told me it was expired and there was nothing they could do. It certainly didn't seem expired, and there was no effort made to help or offer an alternative. If you're going to advertise birthday gifts, there should be enough inventory, or at the very least, staff should offer a few samples or another small gesture to celebrate loyal customers who are spending money in the store. Instead, I left feeling unappreciated and frustrated. Customer service is about finding solutions, not just saying "there's nothing we can do." I am providing feedback regarding a recent in-store experience that was both frustrating and inconvenient. During my visit, I was shopping for several items and needed assistance locating one specific product. After searching the area myself, I asked an associate for help. Rather than assisting me in locating the item, the associate pointed me toward a section of the store and advised me to look there. When I told her I still could not find the product, she stated that if it was not in that section, then it was not available in the store. I specifically asked if she was certain because I did not want to place an online order if the item was actually in stock. She assured me that the product was not available and suggested I check back in about a month. After leaving the store, I sat in the parking lot, opened the Ulta app, and placed an order for the exact product I had been told was unavailable. Less than 10 minutes later, I received a notification that my order was ready for pickup at the same store. I returned inside and was assisted by the same team I had interacted with moments earlier. After presenting my pickup barcode, I was then asked to provide identification. While I understand there may be policies regarding order pickup, it added to the frustration given that I had literally just been in the store attempting to purchase the item myself. The most concerning part of this experience was discovering that the product was, in fact, available in the store the entire time. When I asked where it had been located, I was informed that it was in a middle section of the store--an area that was never checked by the associate who assisted me. My concern is not simply that an item was difficult to find. It is that an associate made no effort to verify inventory, check a device or kiosk, or physically assist me in locating the product before confidently stating that it was unavailable. As a result, I wasted additional time placing an online order, waiting for fulfillment, and returning to the store for pickup when a few moments of customer assistance could have resolved the issue immediately. I believe associates should be encouraged to actively help customers locate products or verify inventory before advising that an item is out of stock. Pointing customers in a general direction and making assumptions about availability creates a poor customer experience and unnecessary inconvenience. I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity to improve customer service and product assistance in the future. What should have been a simple purchase turned into an unnecessary online order and second trip into the store. Customers should not have to use the app to verify inventory when associates have access to store resources and inventory systems. This was my first time visiting this Ulta Beauty location and I was honestly impressed. The store was very clean, well organized, and easy to shop. Everything felt structured, nothing messy or overwhelming, which makes such a difference when you're browsing beauty products. They have a great selection and a huge variety of haircare and skincare products. Whether you're looking for drugstore finds or higher end brands, it's all there in one place. I love that you can compare options side by side without having to go to multiple stores. There's also a salon inside, which I didn't use this time but love that it's available. The staff was approachable without being pushy, which I really appreciate. They answered questions and made recommendations without hovering. Note: download the app and add your birthday! The business started in 1990, and has grown to be one of the largest beauty retailers! I stopped by this Ulta Beauty to look for Estee Lauder products. Estee Lauder is what I use for foundation, lipstick and mascara. There was a wide variety of options in store and online for the Estee Lauder products! The team members at Ulta Beauty were amazing! I was trying to redeem my birthday gift since it was the last day of the month, and I wasn't aware I needed a barcode. I pulled up the app and asked for help, but the employee was incredibly belittling from the start. She told me I "wasn't signed in" even though my name and profile were clearly showing. Instead of offering guidance, she acted irritated that I was having trouble with the app. After several attempts and no real help from her, I finally gave up on redeeming my birthday gift because her attitude was so unnecessarily nasty. She made me feel like an inconvenience for simply asking how the process works. When I said to forget it, she announced my total with a smile that came off very condescending. Susana is an extremely skilled stylist; I typically have my hair layered with a razor cut, and both times I've seen her she's done a phenomenal job. She also had no problem masking for this appointment as I'm immunocompromised. The trainee shadowing her also masked and kept her distance, which I very much appreciated. Stylist Marlene, however, needed to make my health condition everyone's business. When I entered the sink area, she immediately demanded to know why Susana and the trainee were masked. Her tone was extremely rude, and the customer she was shampooing chimed in "Yeah, what year is it?" I sat down and simply said "It's for me. I have cancer. They're caring about my health." You would have thought I'd just walked in and declared "Party's over!" at a rave. Sheepish glare from Marlene as she visibly recoiled. All I got was an "Oh." No apology. Nothing. Her station was across from Susana's, so I then had to endure her irritated glares while having my hair cut. The process is already stressful for me, so I really didn't need this interaction on top of everything else. read more

I was apologizing again for the miscommunication that she kept correcting me on and click hung up. I called back to speak with the manager to report this employees terrible client service, turns out she was the manager?! She again laid into me and refused to tell me who she reports to or give me her name for reference and hung up again. ULTA has an enormous selection of product, which I appreciate, but please, please, please STOP asking if I want to join for points! I could care less about points with every purchase! Ask the younger crowd who spend their entire pay at this store or those who frequent the aisles for the latest and greatest. But Ari made me feel super relaxed and at ease. She's the sweetest and explains each step of the process so that you have a full understanding of how it works. She was able to answer all my questions and concerns and was super honest and genuine. She did an amazing job on my brows so now it's one less thing for me to worry about when I get ready for my day! and for such a reasonable price too. She has 10+ years of experience with brows! She helped me achieve the exact brow shape I wanted and even made recommendations based on the shape of my face. I highly recommend her and cannot wait to go back! I actually hate coming to this Ulta. I used to come to this location 2-3 years ago and the workers were always rude! Today, this location was close to the area I was in. I just needed a brow pencil and then looked around at perfume. I walked in giving them a clean slate after me not coming for so long but again, I walk in and not greeted. I make DIRECT eye contact with an employee, she said nothing. I said hello and she smiled... I didn't know exactly where I was going when I walked in so I stood in the center for a while when I walked in, the two employees in the front still said nothing. I found the product I needed and then smelled some perfumes and got in line. The line was getting longer so another register was opened and the cashier had just said something under her breath about another customer before I walked up. And when I tried to ask them what was going on they acted all stupid about it as if they didn't just give my item that was on hold to someone else. The girl running the cash register and greeting customers did great. Very polite and friendly. Her I would give 5 stars. She was good at her job. While browsing through the brand name cosmetics, I asked two employees who were standing together (a girl and a guy) for help with a couple of products. Neither had heard of the Nudestix Micro-peel product I was looking for. They had no idea if it was available online or what the product even was. They were not willing to research it or look anything up, just told me to try online if I really wanted it. They did suggest a couple of Lancôme products. One product was the Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector Serum. I was interested in the product but wanted a smaller size to try before paying $120 for the large bottle. They both agreed that Lancôme/Ulta did not sell or make a smaller size. So I wound up buying the large size just to come home and discover they DO sell a smaller bottle for $84. This is very upsetting that Ulta employees would act the way they did and show a complete lack of interest in helping me and giving me wrong information. I have never had this problem at Sephora. This is more for Ulta.com website not the store. I ordered some products, paid for them, everything. They never came. I called Ulta and they resent the order. All is good. However, one of the things I ordered was now on sale for $28 cheaper. They wouldn't honor the sale price because "my order was prepaid " and they can't give me a credit. This doesn't make sense to me. I've never had a company not honor a sale price. Usually, even if it's a credit, the company honors the sale price. I don't care for this business practice, I think they care more for profits than customer relations. Just do the right thing!!! read more

I'm not too sure about the quality of service that is presented at Ulta beyond the salon as I am from south Summerlin. I drive the distance for one reason. I have had the unfortunate experience with stylists since being here in Las Vegas that are great at talking themselves up and showing greatly filtered images on social. Which, is highly disappointing considering I have a massive amount of hair, that tends to need the high maintenance treatment from those who are involved with cutting or coloring it. I will drive all over this city if I have to, just to receive the services that Gabbie provides. She is extremely attentive to my hair needs and the outcome of her masterpiece.
