I went to Sally's beauty this past Saturday looking for shampoo and conditioner. I have very fine thin hair and pre-menopause is showing up on my hair lol the girl who opens up the shop was so helpful. She was sweet and kind and listened to me rant about my hair. She showed me a few options and she didn't try and upsell me anything. She suggested I try soapbox shampoo and conditioner. It my second wash using it and I love it. My son also loves it. Very Sad ! I went into Sally's to find a very standard bonnet to sleep in because I am away from home. I have many times come into Sally's for things that they didn't have for a person of my hair type. But I feel like theres a line. I did research and apparently they are affirming their commitment to DEI but then i went in there the black products were on a flimsy table in front of the store marked down... which is kind of a shame given the current state of the world right now. I went in to purchase a product that unfortunately, was out of stock. When I asked about comparable products, 3 associates looked and asked one another - and didn't have a clue. The thing is, there is a sign on the store window stating that there is 'licensed professional on site' who can answer all questions - this is not the case. Bummer. First off I am not a professional, just a regular guy looking for retail products. I had gone to a couple stores looking for a pumice stone to use on my feet and none of the big box stores had em. Decided to stop here and was greeted by two cheerful women. Yeah I know sounds loaded but these two were the nicest retailers I've had the opportunity to buy from. I was promptly pointed to where the pumice stones were and was given solid advice on how to use it. I had talked about an interest in foot masks/peel, they suggested that I use lotion and the pumice to start. I will defiantly think to visit this store again when looking for any other unique products. read more

I was really shocked and sad to find out that my local Sally's has closed. Not that this one is far away from me but, there was something about that location that made me feel more at ease. I came to this location because it was the 2nd closest one to me and I love that it's in a strip mall so, if I needed to do groceries or stop in for lunch, there's other stores around. As soon as I walked in, it was completely empty save for 2 employees. I get it, it's Christmas Eve so that may be the reason. Anyway, as soon as I walked in I was greeted instantly by the two employees. One of them came up to me very friendly, and asked if I needed help. I didn't know my way around so, I asked for assistance. She was nice but, didn't seem she knew anything. I asked for advice on color and developers and she just agreed with everything I said. I wish she was more knowledgeable but, that's on me for not knowing after having colored my hair for years. The other employee was friendly as well, kept making suggestions. I have shopped this location a few times on occasion but always walked out in frustration or with products that I ended up returning for a refund because I later learned that what previous sales associates recommended are NOT what I needed. I thought I'd give Sally Beauty one more try and went in for permanent hair color to cover grays. Usually, there is a girl with a black bob who seems impatient when asked a question, and I avoided her like the plague. On this particular Saturday, a girl named Angel helped me and she was so knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping me purchase the right products versus pointing out what others think I'm looking for or what may be the selling point for the day. Small store, dark, cramped. Visibility to the cashiers is restricted by more stuff. Difficult to navigate through the store to find what I was looking for. I been super picky about going out and shopping ever since Covid-19 showed up and messed up all of our lives. However, my hair was super dry and I needed a deep conditioner ASAP. The product I used (ION) deep conditioner is sold at Sally's Beauty Supply and it is well worth it. Everyone seemed very nice and I loved the customer service. Moreover, the store was super clean, everyone was wearing a mask and once the store had too many people inside, the employees will not let anyone else in. The only thing I dislike about the store is how small it is. Then again most of them are usually small, but this one might be the smallest. First of all , I have shopped here for an entire decade ! Seen a lot of different cashiers! But this morning was a bizarre moment for me ! There was this Hispanic woman with short hair Bob hairstyle. And she talks really funny, I bought some hair dye last week and didn't have the receipt so I have told her that I would like to exchange them . Usual, I don't have a problem exchanging them and mind you I go here like every 2 weeks tops! I said hello, and told her what I wanted to . Then she goes , your abusing your policy ! Am like what ? Then I said , I just got this last week ! It's not past your exchange policy ! Then she started to serve me a sermon ! About the policy ! But when she talks , it's not normal ! Everytime I buy nail polish from this location it's always been used. I paid almost $10 for a new bottle here and I had to struggle to open the bottle because it had been used, spilled, and dried on the outside. I can't buy anything from here ever again. It's too much hassle to have to drive all the way back and keep returning things. Since they can't guarantee the quality of their products and people get away with tampering, I'm taking my business somewhere else. read more

First off: This is a beauty supply store - NOT a retail store like Sephora. If you want salon products at a reasonable price, this is where you shop. If you want a luxury experience - go to Ulta and Sephora (and pay retail prices). This location always has the products I buy in stock. I have the club card which gives me discounts in store and I get sent coupons in the mail once I spend a certain amount. I shop here for: Hair color, developer, hair color tools, conditioner, and nail tools. Sometimes I'll buy lashes here - but only on sale as they are the same brands as the ones at any drugstore. Parking lot is big, but can get packed on the weekends bc there's a K-Mart in the same shopping center. read more

I went in to get hair color and had some questions regarding the products. They no longer fold what I needed so I asked if I should use a different toner and bleach. The girl that I talked to was so busy having a conversation with an employee while helping me that she wasn't paying attention. I couldn't believe that her conversation regarding nail polish couldn't wait! Needless to say she gave me incorrect information and my hair color wasn't what I hoped for. Being a licensed cosmetologist, I don't like to use "any 'ole thing" on my precious clients hair, nor do I like to pay continuous loads of dough due to the quantity of products I use and size of clientele. Here's where Sally's enters....a.k.a. The Bargain Beauty Bordello :) Easy on-line ordering and nice prices for cosmetologists, though their shipping can be slow at times... And if they don't have something in stock, they'll just remove it from your order then reimburse that amount without notifying you! *tsk tsk* However, they have reasonably priced products that do a beautiful job at providing what I need, whether it be for: salon supplies, shampoo, conditioner, relaxer, mousse, oils, gels, etc... Impressively so, Sally's also caters to all hair textures, carries comparable & generic products similar to the brands I'd like to try but feel are too expensive. I do have to say though, their line of hair extensions suck with a capital UCK and the makeup lines they carry are so-so, with no lace wig supplies and very little weave supplies to be found either (hence the 4 ****'s). But everything else gets two professional thumbs up! All in All, Sally Beauty Supply continuously gets better with time and will definitely remain as a stable, for my day to day products & supplies! read more

I stopped by this store on my lunch break and casually asked if they had China Glaze Crackle...and lo and behold they had boxes of it in the back waiting for me!!! lol (My eyeballs nearly popped out of my head: they had every color available except black, oh well.) The best thing about this store is its location: somewhat hidden, and it's small...as far as I know, not too many people go there, so they don't run out of things as fast as other Sally stores. For a beauty suppy shop, there is not too much selection for professional products. All the products here seem to be low end and generic. For example, they do not sell a CHI flat iron, instead they sell a generic brand that says "compare to CHI" on the outside of the box. There are no real quality items here. Instead I suggest you shop at the new ULTA in the Empire Center. It's got much more of a high quality selection for your beauty needs. Other than that, the service here is friendly, and the staff always tries to help you with what you need. Also, there is always a coupon or a discount when you're a member and recently I got an great simulated gator bag (gift for purchasing more than $25) that is large enough to carry all my supplies in when I'm being the traveling stylist. If you value customer service, this is not the shop for you. It might be a mixed bag, one girl stocking the front smiled and acknowledged my existence, but the other 2 or 3 times I've been here, most of the workers are too busy restocking shelves, seemed annoyed when people ask questions or advice and don't seem to want to deal with customers at all. At one point, there were about 3 or 4 customers waiting in line and two girls behind the counter. One was ringing people up, the other was fiddling with a box. I couldn't tell what she was doing, she should have said something to let us know that she was busy. It turned out she was helping a customer on the phone, but when that call was done, she just disappeared without acknowledging any of the customers. When I got to the front of the line, I let the girl at the register know that I needed hair dye that was kept behind the counter. She had to go to the back to find it, came back empty handed and phrased it in such a way that I thought they stopped carrying the product for good. I finally got it out of her that it MIGHT be in a shipment that MAYBE arrives on Tuesday. Expect that some things might be out of stock and that you'll be treated rudely, but this shop did have a pretty good selection. I'll be finding a different beauty supply store, though. read more
