I usually dread shopping at most Sally's because they are usually all the way out in the hood and the only one I know of in studio city doesn't have the items I need. Usually the girls working there are friendly but really aren't much help when it comes to suggesting products that are right for me. The girls in studio city are mostly interested in suggesting the most priciest items. I came to this location about a month ago in desperate need of help. Over the past year and a half I had been on a journey to go blonde but just wasn't satisfied with the tone so ended up trying to gradually go darker. Needless to say my hair is damaged beyond belief, and I have about 10 different shades going on from super bleached to dark blonde. Terrible. Anyway when I came in I told the girl working there that I wanted to go to a very dark warm blonde or maybe as dark as a warm light honey brown. This chick gave me a color that turned my roots pretty dark brown. I was so upset! Thank goodness I only did my roots. Well, last night I went in again and told Jessica, the manager on duty what had happened. She spent quite a while with me discussing what color would work with my now very dark roots. She suggested a brand with more intense color that would actually lighten my roots but darken the rest of my hair. I was skeptical but desperate since I don't presently have a good colorist. When I stepped out of the shower I was thrilled! Jessica was SPOT ON! My hair's color is way more even, has dimension, looks healthier and is a beautiful light honey brown. The ladies here were super duper sweet! They are now open for walk ins, but only allow about 10 people in the store at a time and they make sure we sanitize before coming in which is great. Terrible costumer service. The young man who rang me up was the worst. There was zero engaging, no eye contact, no greetings and he was having a personal conversation with his fellow co-coworker. I've been a regular costumer for over 10 years and I have seen staff come and go. The new staff now seem like they don't want to assist customers, they could care less for customer satisfaction. Guys haha just go to another Sally's. I was trying to return a few items I had picked up from another Sally's a couple of days before. I had checked if returning marked down items were acceptable and online everyone said it was fine. I had my receipt and went to return the items and the manager said "ohh, we don't refund on sale items." I was kind of confused so I said no problem and left. Closing and locking your doors because your "machines won't take any money" a full 15 minutes before your actual,posted closing time is probably one of the best examples of having the wrong kind of people managing/running your store. Sounds more like this is was actually an excuse to get out at 8pm on a Friday night than it is a machine failure. Like many other Sally stores, this one is pretty small and jam packed with all sorts of products. They do not have a large selection of organic and natural/botanical hair products. When I asked a representative to help me locate a botanical condition, she directed me to two (that's right, only two) different brands which were on opposite sides of the hair products aisle. Despite this, they do have weekly specials and when you use your rewards card, you get up to 15% off your next purchase. read more

Got some excellent service here. While checking out, I admitted that I knew very little about the item I was purchasing since there was such a wide variety (and price range). The cashier suggested another product that was on clearance for $10 less that was originally $60. She also said I'd be able to exchange it for something else if it didn't work out.
