I know you know Ulta... that's why you're looking it up on Yelp. Yes, this location is a good one…read more It's conveniently located (but be prepared to walk a bit... the parking spots closest to the entrance often fill up) at Knollwood and is close to some of your other favorite shops (I see you, beauty and style maven!). They have the excellent selection of both drug store and department store brands of cosmetics, skincare, and hair care products that you would expect, along with a great selection of fragrances and beauty tools. There is a salon and a Benefit Brow Bar, though you will need to make an appointment for either (worth it--they do a great job). It's really easy to find help with anything, be it finding a product that you know and love or getting help choosing the perfect red lipstick for you. The prices are standard, but regular promotions and deals mean that you can often score pretty extraordinary deals, especially if you've signed up for their program. Ulta also always has fun gift sets for every occasion, do stop in if you have an occasion to celebrate.

Pick-up orders at Ulta is a great way to prevent yourself from going too crazy. The staff is ok here. I have definitely walked in here a few times and the staff is kind of socializing or sitting on their phones and I have not gotten any help, and Ulta is one of those places it is nice to have help because there are SO MANY options. I'll be back but hopefully the customer service aspect can improve just a bit!

My hair stylist moved out of state and I was a bit flummoxed about what to do. It took me several…read moremonths to gather the courage to try someone new, and after a lot of online research, I finally settled on Kuva. I am SO happy with my choice. I wanted a place that looked nice, like a place where I'd like to spend hours of my time. I wanted a salon that seemed like they had a beat on current styles. And I wanted a salon where they did amazing color work (both fun funky stuff and more traditional) because I've reached the age where that is a thing I need, apparently. When I called to make an appointment, I had my first introduction to Dean, and I'm going to pause here now to just say that Dean is the *insert good four-letter word.* Friendly, helpful, positive and genuinely kind, Dean is the perfect front man for Kuva, and he makes a wonderful first impression for the business. Dean helped me find an appointment slot, and when I had to reschedule at the last minute, he continued to be friendly and helpful, without any trace of annoyance or frustration. It made me feel good about my choice before I even walked in the door, and when I DID walk in the door, Dean was the first person to greet me and set me right at ease. I will admit, the only thing that gave me pause was the location. Right off of Hennepin in Uptown can be a nightmare for parking, especially when you need to park for say four hours when you have a full-blown color appointment. I made sure to get there a little early in case I had to scout a spot but was pleased to find that the salon is far enough away from the main intersection that there is free street parking and a neighborhood right next door with even more free street parking. So no worries about feeding the meter at all. In addition (HUGE BONUS), the salon is right next to the Black Walnut Bakery, which makes the most fabulous pastries should you want to treat yo'self after you get your hair done. So actually, the location is great. The salon itself is very welcoming and it has some super cool features including a living wall covered with plants and a water wall. It was clean, I liked the plexiglass dividers and the safety precautions and staff was all wearing masks. A+ there. Also bonus points for the cool light fixtures. My appointment was with Tami, who I learned is one of the owners of the business. Boy did I get lucky. Tami did a wonderful job of really listening to me when I explained what I wanted and what I didn't want, how I generally care for my hair, how far I wanted to go with the boldness of the color, etc. She checked in with me several times throughout the coloring process (highlights + color so it took awhile) to ensure we were still on track and she asked again right before she did the final color about where I wanted to be in terms of the brightness of the hue. In the times when I had to sit and wait for the dye to do its thing, she checked in with me there too to make sure I didn't need more coffee and was comfortable. I appreciated the care she took with my hair and also with little things like making sure she rinsed around my ears and got every single root. It was very clear to me she has been doing hair for a long time and is very good at it. I could tell even when my hair was still wet that I loved it, and I loved it even more when it was dry. Tami was fun to talk to and answered all of my questions about caring for colored hair, maintenance, etc. And, judging from the reaction of my Facebook friends, I am not the only one who thinks very highly of Tami's work. I will most certainly be back. I've already made my next appointment!

When I pay $85 for a haircut at a new salon, my expectations are understandably pretty high. I have…read moreshort, fine hair, so the precision of the cut is especially important. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the result that Jennifer did. The cut did not seem tailored to my hair type, and overall it did not meet the level of quality I expected for the price. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this salon.

I have gone to this place a few times and was happy that we had our own Black Owned Beauty store in…read morethis area.Thought it strange about the service until today. First they don't acknowledge you as the guest you have to, they watch you like a hawk up and down the clustered poorly lit aisles. I just went for convenience and to think for a black owned business in a better part of the city that they'd be more welcoming and see all customers for who they are rather than thinking everyone is out to get them. Just so you know I would rather drive 20/30mins to Brooklyn Park or South Minneapolis for a better service and for sure a much better interaction where customer service is concerned. For those folks who always say buy Black thank you and no thank you when it comes to BEAUTY PARADISE @ 9066 Lyndale Ave S,Bloomington MN. I believe you and your Team need to reevaluate your approach on servicing your Community cause you definitely need Us. l don't believe those prior reviews are real.# very dissatisfied#theydontseeUs#makeitmakesense.

Well I had spoken to a lady on the phone and she had said that I could make an appointment at 9 am…read moreso then I go there and it's not even open, I waited till 10 then they had opened but the door was locked. When they had unlocked the door I said I was there for an install. I get in the chair and the person doing my hair did not talk to me the entire time, she had been talking to another staff member in the other room. When she was doing my install she didn't even measure my hairline she just cut the lace on a mannequin and then she didn't even hide the bald cap I was wearing when she glued on the wig and the wig didn't even fit around my ears because she didn't cut around my ears, I was so dissatisfied I should have just gone to the place in the mall of America like I did last time atleast they actually made it look good. Oh my gosh I almost forgot, when she asked me if I wanted the wig sewn in I asked how much that would be and she was like "she didn't tell you when you walked in?" And I replied no. So then she was on the phone and after the call she said come to the register and then I had paid 85$ for a crappy install and the wig not sewn in. I regret tipping. I had to cut the lace around my ears when I had gotten home and glue down the parts that weren't even glued down. I had also noticed that they had LEFT A 2 CLIPS IN MY HAIR. So I would not recommend this place. Just go to the one in MOA they do such a better job AND they actully talk to their customers.
