I needed a wig to give me a style. You can see the big WIG FAB sign from the street. I have the world's smallest head and they have a good selection of petites. I tried on different ones and then the perfect one jumps out at you. I didn't want to go as short as my last one and this had some length on the neck. It was also close to my natural color too. Cheryl was great and explained a lot of things like why I should get a wig cap and grip. In spite of not being able to get a 70's shag, I left pretty damn happy. read more

I have purchased three toppers...one at the Hastings location where no appointment is needed and two from the Roseville location where the appointments are required. The staff have always been soo friendly and helpful...once you are finally allowed inside. I am unclear why only one person is allowed inside at a time and why you are completely ignored if knocking on the door. You must wait in your car to be waved in for your appointment or be called in by your phone. It is off putting and my guess is they may lose business given that some people might just want to stop quick but may be a great sale if they know what they are looking for! SO DISAPPOINTED and so put off. I will NEVERRRRR go to this store again. If I could give it ZERO STARS I would. I looked up wig stores in the area of Rosedale/Roseville because there was one I went to 5 years ago. Same name and at the time they were in the process of relocating. So, great! I found it. When I looked at the Google ad, it said nothing where the basic info was that it was an "Appointment Only" business. That would have helped, but even still, no excuse. My husband and I approach the door, pull and it was locked. There was a lady behind the counter and another on the floor with a female customer. We glance over at the hours of operation and yes, it was a Thursday open until 8. The time was 5:20 or so, bur no later that 5:30. Lady comes to the door a bit put out. I ask, "aren't you open until 8?" She says, "yes, clicks her cheek, points to a sign (which we didn't see) and says, Appointment Only. " SHE NEVER APOLOGIZES, acts like she's got so much business, they don't need any more." She has NO IDEA who I am or what I'm there for. If I was a person undergoing cancer treatment, if my hair was thinning. If I was just depressed and wanting to change my look, She HAD NO IDEA. She *could have* if she really cared about a potential customer, she would have taken my name and number, apologized that she couldn't make an appointment for me today, but would be happy to at a later time. She also could have said, listen, sorry you didn't know about our policy, when you call back, ask for me, (name) and I'll make sure you are taken care of. Again, I apologize. NADDA. NOTHING ZIP. Just an off putting click click of her cheek and a point to the sign and a closing and relocking of the door. Did she really think that was an invitation to frequent this business by coming back? I don't know who she was. Shame on her if she was the store owner. We do not look like hoodlums my hisband and I. We are both in our 50's. The other lady was calmly chatting with a female customer, so it's not like they were being robbed at gunpoint. I went to Merle Norman a pebbles throw away. Mary Jo there was also appointment only, but she was SUPER NICE to us. We didn't walk away feeling like a piece of gum you scrape off your shoe in summer. Hi, I bought a hair topper from Creative Hair Design before Christmas. Gals at bothe locations in Mn. we're very nice and helpful. I have not worn my hair topper once. I do not like it! It is not the same as the ones I tried on in the shop. Its not human hair, I knew that. I can't do anything with this piece. It goes where it wants too. I loved the ones I tried on I paid over $325 dollars for this. I can't return it either. I am on the verge of throwing it out. Sorry, the pieces are all the same price, no matter the length. Wish I had gotten the longest length and then I would have had my stylist cut it for me. It's not worth the money I paid for it. I guess I expected better quality. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I am in an extremly stressfull situation in my life and was suffering hair loss that will get progressively worse from CTE. The staff explained my best option for coverage while using my existing hair. The girls matched the color perfectly to my existing biological hair. Thier Hair Stylist Brian, who is super cute, cut my topper to fill in my current hair style perfectly. Just would like to add, i have two hairstylist friends, Corrie and Monica, who know my hair. They where clueless anything was done until i told them. Because I did a very good job of "blowing out" my bio hair to add body, that in reality was no longer there. So a topper the staff suggest added actually body, to the smoke and mirror game i was using to hide my hair loss Ladies, if your nervous about finding options to cover your hairloss, this is the place! I have never been told before at 8:20pm that I needed to leave a retail store soon so they could get ready to close at 9pm. This is what happened last night at this store. My husband and I arrived at 8:10pm. I already knew which wig I wanted to try on. The saleswoman kept herself busy looking at tags on the wigs so I waited patiently for her to acknowledge me. When she finally did, I pointed out the wig I wanted to try on. During my request, she had gone back to looking at the tags on the other wigs so I waited again. She grabbed the wig at her convenience and told me to sit down and that I needed a wig cap, which she pretty roughly crammed on my head. Despite this, I really loved the color of the wig on me! I wasn't keen on the style so I asked if she had something else. I showed her a photo of what I was thinking of and barely glancing at it she said shortly, "We don't carry that brand." First of all, I didn't ask for that specific wig, just the style. Second, the brand name wasn't listed on the photo. I saw another wig that looked very pretty and asked to try it on. She told me it was way more expensive than the first one, which was odd to me since I hadn't given her a price range. The first one was $360. The second one was $599. I was ok with the cost if the wig looked good on me. Sadly, it didn't. She told me that was all she had time for and that I would have to come back some other day, preferably around 7:30pm, if not during the day. She had told me she'd write down the style of the first wig but was ushering us out of the store quite quickly. My husband asked if she'd written down the style for us and she slightly rolled her eyes and went to write it down. As she was doing so she pointed at another wig and said that one was the same color but a different style, but that she didn't have time to show it to me. It was 8:20pm. We left and I was so irritated to have driven almost an hour to go to this useless store. I was prepared to spend upwards to $600 last night but was kicked out of the store because of a lazy employee. I will never go back. I'd rather drive to Minneapolis and deal with that mess than to set foot in this store again. read more

When I wear my pieces (bangs, toppers, extensions, wig, clip-ins), no one can believe it isn't my hair. Alissa is amazing at what she does and knows her stuff. I have been suffering from trichotillomania for the last year and have been using glue in extensions making it worse for myself, as well as wasting so much money! I met with Alissa, the owner. She was absolutely fabulous and caring. Didn't make me feel ashamed at all when I took my hat off. Genuinely caring and honest. She made sure to listen to what I wanted and found things that would fit my budget and style. I also had my one year old daughter who had to come with me, which was not ideal but Alissa made everything better, by helping to entertain her and was understanding even when baby was touching everything. :) I will definitely be back to purchase another wig and recommend this for anyone who is suffering from any type of hair loss or even looking for something fun and a change! This is your grandma's wig store. I had a free consultation which I really appreciate, but they are not on trend with wigs and toppers right now. Wig cost average is 3000.00-4000.00 here, however if its not the color you want you pay extra maybe 250.00 for highlights. I have been educating myself on youtube and social media about wigs and toppers and I feel like if you want something current there are better places to shop. Its to bad you need to shop online to get something current. I really like the idea of trying it on before ordering. read more

I went here today with my mother, who suffers from severe alopecia. When we got there, the lady was helping another customer try on wigs. She was the only one staffed there, so we were very patient for her to help us. My mom has struggled with transitioning from headwraps to wearing wigs. After she was done helping the other customers, she didn't seem to be enthusiastic about answering my mom's questions. The quality on most of the ones that weren't lacefronts were just okay and slightly over-priced. The lacefronts were a good price, but I've seen better custom wigs on Etsy for about $100 cheaper. They had no super-curly or afro-kinky textured wigs at all. The styles were mostly uninspiring. My mom and I both felt that the customer service wasn't very good and the lady didn't seem like she was trying to sell the products to us or show my mom any options. We answered questions we had, but didn't act as if we were there to buy. My mom has already spent over $600 on various wigs and hasn't been thrilled about any of them. My mom bought me a cute wig as a gift for $100 and we left. I told my mom to not buy any of them and invest in a custom wig from a local wig-maker that has given us EXCELLENT customer service so far. She also does private appointments. My mom deserved a little bit more guidance and better service. The woman wasn't rude...just wasn't very helpful at all. The selection of styles and colors is fantastic and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I have purchased human hair extensions, synthetic wigs, clip-in pony tails, wrap pony tails, secret toppers and medium sized super secret toppers. I wear them all. I've even taken my wigs to Brian to have him cut the wig into a new style. I highly recommend this place. I had written a review that I cannot edit. I thought we had 30 days to make changes? I want to share my experience after speaking with the owner and Brian the professional I had for my appointment on 7/31/21. I was assured by the owner that Brian knows what will work well with the clients Bio -hair and I must say again that he did pick the right choice on what was available in store for me that visit. I wanted to look at slightly longer lengths and Alissa and Brian will be working with me on an upcoming appointment and showing me what options I have. I also wanted to not just have the hair hang down around my face and we they will be showing mt options for that as well. Brian suggested that before cutting bangs or trimming to play with it for a while. While we can cut it later, it won't grow back. Good point. I will write a review after my upcoming appointment. Their attention to wanting to satisfy their customers is 10+ The calls and emails after picking up some dissatisfaction in my initial review show they stand behind their services and are willing to make your experiences with them memorable, game changing events. read more

Had a horrible experience at the store today. The man that let me in the store didn't introduce himself to me. I told him I was looking for some thing to fill in the top as I am experiencing hair loss, already a very traumatic occurrence. He showed me a blonde topper, and said I would have to dye my hair to match it. I told him that as a person experiencing hair loss, I don't think that dying my hair was the right thing to be doing at this time. He said well you could use this gray one but it doesn't really match your hair. I do have gray hair. I would think a lot of women experiencing hair loss have gray hair. he basically said then that he wouldn't have anything for me unless I did a custom job. He must've assumed that I couldn't afford it or something, as he didn't pursue that line. He never gave me any chance to try anything on or even give me some idea of what it might look like. He asked me how I wore my hair, and I told him I'm wearing it with clips to cover hair loss. He said well then none of these would work for me with clips. He indicated any wig would be a year to a year and a half out and very expensive. Again, I guess he was assuming what I could or could not afford. as I'm going through a very difficult time with hair loss, I assumed that this store would be compassionate and go out of their way to make me feel welcome and try to find solutions. It was nothing like that at all, I felt horrible as I left there. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone or at least this unnamed person that helped me, or actually didn't help me one bit and made me feel horrible. read more

Had a horrible experience here. I went to get a wig to wear for a special occasion, there was a woman there who helped me. At first she seemed nice, a little quiet and awkward maybe but I am too so it didn't bother me any. When I sat down in the chair and she was putting a wig onto my head to try on when she asked me "So your hair looks like its growing in really nice, how are your cancer treatments going?" I am a female and I wear a buzzcut (a #2 all over) I DO THIS BECAUSE I LIKE IT NOT BECAUSE I HAVE CANCER. I realize many of the people who come in here are suffering from illnesses or hair loss but I also feel like you shouldn't just assume what I'm going through based solely on the length of my hair. It really made me feel really crappy about myself and how I look and that was the opposite of what I was trying to achieve by coming into this place.. Won't be coming back. read more

Bitter-Sweet experience on 7/31/21 at the Roseville location. As in another review a customer had mentioned that it was assumed that her hair loss was due to her having cancer. I was told," it's rough getting old." okay #1 that is not something that should be said. #2 a lot of people above my age have a very full thick head of hair. I have read that creative hair design has a lot of hair toppers as well as wigs and other items. I was shown 2 pieces ,1 of which was not a match at all. I told the staff that I wanted to go longer and was told that wouldn't be a good thing to do with a topper yet I was never shown by putting one on my head to see why not. I have been struggling for many years and still work FT in a very busy Clinic and was really wanting something to help. Here is the sweet part- the 1 topper i was shown did blend with with length and color but I told him I did not like the way the front framed my face. He said to play with it and aked if I lived close, so I could come back and have it cut with bangs. okay. When I got home and started to play with it on I noticed it seemed gritty and the hairs where acting like they do when dirty-clumping to each other...a lot of fly ways that my own hair had and I reported and was hoping to eliminate with this endeavor. I left a chat on creative hair design's website about this very thing. I also read that a full synthetic wig a year ago was $100-$500 from the owner Alissia. My topper was $259 and like I said when getting it home and looking mm away saw all the fly a ways. a At the saloon staff was putting it on and off and brushing it , i did not feel it like a petson does handling a wig themselves. and when i did it felt dirty. I believe it has been adorning the wall shelf for sometine and I shouldve been offered and ordered a new one in pristine condition to begin my topper tryout.. Again I was basically shown this 1 product. Did you not have any more to show me? Or just no mote toppers suitable to me. Any photos of ones to be ordered to your store? Big selection of hair in the store just none for me. $400 less in my pocket. I still tipped?? I felt rushed! On May 14th, I called Creative Hair Design in Hastings to schedule an appointment. I told them I was a disabled Veteran with a disease which is causing me to lose my hair and I wanted to discuss my options. The appointment was scheduled for 1:00p.m. the following day, May 15th. Upon my arrival, I was immediately taken to the backroom where the human hair wigs are. I was told they were substantially more but not given any prices, and there were none posted. I suggested I look throughout the showroom. I selected several I liked and the sister/partner (she never gave me her name) assisted me in trying them on. She had a difficult time getting them to fit and stay on. She said it was due to my soft hair. Feeling overwhelmed, I took a breather walking around the store. The sister pulled a few other wigs she thought I might like while two older ladies pacified me after I broke down in tears. I asked if there was anything that resembled my hair. I wanted it to look natural, and me look like myself while my hair was transitioning. I was again shown a human hair wig in a catalog that could be special ordered. I inquired about the price. It was $2,800. I told sister I would keep looking. I selected one and it was taken to the register. I was never given a price until the total. A grip was also added without my consent. When I mentioned it, I was told "you need that". I left the store wearing the wig sister had put on me and visited my Friend only to me humiliated when it inched back revealing my scalp. I called sister the following day May 16th and told her of my traumatic experience. She told me to adjust the wig grip. I never wore the wig again and boxed it up. After speaking with my doctor whom I'm under care for this condition it was decided this would be a hindrance to my treatment and could cause further psychological and emotional distress. I did not feel like myself wearing the wig and was extremely self-conscious and it did not fulfill my need. I decided to return the wig. I called the Roseville location on May 19th to see if I could return the wig I purchased from at the Hastings location to their store. The lady that answered said she thought so but wanted to double check and asked if she could call me back. She called back 11 minutes later and said "I could return the wig there". I drove there only to be told I could not return it. I was shocked! I said "I just called". They said "we don't accept wig returns". I said "your receipt says returns within 7 days!" They said "not wigs". I said "I was never told this. I drove out here because you said you would accept it." They said "it's due to health code." I said, "I was never told that. There's no signage stating that!" They said "they could give me a store credit." I said "giving me a store credit is still taking the wig back that I've worn for a whole hour. I was not given a new wig, I was given one off the shelf that everyone else tried on, you weren't concerned with my health!" I asked to speak with the owner. She was not there. I left my card and asked for her to call me. I never heard from her. I called on May 20th and left another message. No return call. I called again on May 21st in the morning. I called again in the afternoon when the owner finally answered and I was able to plead my case. She did not care and was just as argumentative as her employee. This whole experience as added to my anguish. I have never had such a dehumanizing experience. read more
