It was the beginning of the NFL season and I wanted to dye my beard the Seahawks colors. So off to Sally's I went.... I know nothing about dyeing hair, so I was in need of some serious help. As I entered the shop the doorbell announced my presence, but there was no person sight. Soon I heard footsteps. Around the end of an aisle a smiling young woman appeared. To my great fortune she had long straight hair, parted in the middle with one side bright red and the other bright blue. "Hooray, just the person I need to talk to", I thought to myself. As it turned out, the young bi-colored woman was indeed very helpful. She answered my endless questions with enthusiasm and patience. The most recent time I went there was a girl working who I think was Latina based on her slight accent, but she was awesome. Super Sweet and helpful and I loved her. There was this very awkward, know-it-all woman (I'm gendering them, they might identify differently) who seemed genuinely offended that I didn't "need" her help. She said, "I can help you." Not horribly impressed with the customer service at this location. I routinely get ignored while the employees chat with one another, or there was the time when I got laughed at for buying purple dye because the clerk said I would never get my hair purple enough, then the time when I was told I didn't need bleach to get my hair pink. The manager is rude & all the girls do there is gossip. I didn't get any help, no one knew the answer to the questions I was asking. & they had no idea how to install or remove extensions. I over heard an associate tell one customer that she can use nail polish remover to remove the glue out of her hair. Poor girl must have took the advice because she was all for it. Imagine nail polish remover being soaked in your hair on your head sitting on your scalp.! OUCH.! No professional services at all. read more

To the store worker that was there about 10:00 on 9/1, you were awesome. I came in with my kids to get semi-permanent dye for my daughter, and to get something to enhance my girls friend's dye job I did. She wanted it brighter and more a certain color, so knowing a bit about hi-lift colors I asked her about them and she gave me a full rundown, and the differences in mixing, asked what color her natural hair was and what the result we wanted was. Chatted for a minute and then got it figured out. And then she helped me find some products to help my girlfriend get her hair repaired as a whole as the weather has been rough on it. Last night the girlfriend was ecstatic about the repair conditioner, and the daily use one. It's like she's got new hair now. I've been to several Sally locations but this one is top notch! read more

Although I can only compare to a few other sally locations, this is the absolute worst one. I have been dealing with this location on and off for years now. In the beginning, it was small things, like wrong shade suggestions (NBD) and some non confident answers. Then a couple of years ago, the same lady who is mentioned in the preview comments (manager working there for years, she is the "color specialist) gives me the WRONG developer, which fries my hair and turns my hair GREEN. I immediately go in the next morning with hair to prove it, the "color specialist" is not in and the other incompetent ladies are unable to assist with a refund/suggestions to correct the issue. *i do want to point out that this takes life off of a persons hair, that you can never get back. * I go back when she is there, and still no refund, not sincere, and no care about helping ongoing local consumers. This brings us to today. Same manager working, and another representative on the floor. I went with the new gal who was truly beyond pleasant, great, and super nice. The only issue, is that she did not give my the correct coloring, which then lighted my ENTIRE hair color. I did not want to go lighter for my whole head. Now, with 5 mins to closing and living LITERALLY 5 mins away, we hopped into the car, and called them explaining what had happened and asked if they could stay open just 5 more minutes so we could correct this issue. The girl who helped me was really sweet, but she did have to transferred me to the manager (which guess who) for further help. Just like last time, the manager was incentive and didn't even want to help. As a previous store manager, when I had a customer call in right when closing needing something direr, we stayed open. I didn't complain to her about how "tired I am working from 9am-8pm and I want to get home." I can only imagine how a store owner would feel hearing that. I even asked if there was a way for her to pick a dark color, pay for it over the phone and then set the color outside the door. I sympathize with her situation, but the least she could do is work with me about her employee gave incorrect information. Over all, I wish this Sally's had a better manager who cared about her customers and would be more understanding. I am not sure if she is overworked, or bringing her personal life into work, but either way, somethings got to change. This Sally's has a good selection of ethnic and curly hair products. There were so many options I spent way longer in there than I intended to. Another plus is that they have the Generic Value Product line, which is sadly unavailable in Canadian Sally's. I've been using the GPV version of Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner for four years now. I've used the Paul Mitchell and GPV version and both work great. The staff in here was friendly and asked me and other customers if we needed assistance. Up until 2-3 months ago I loved coming in here & the employees & management were amazing! But now employees I've spoken with have NO knowledge of their own product!! I've had to step in twice already when they have given advice to other customers that would've caused major issue.......LITERALLY they told one lady that the #'s on the developer ( levels 20,30,40)were HOW LONG YOU KEEP THE BLEACH/COLOR IN YOUR HAIR!!!! Thank God I was there or that poor girl would've had major chemical burns! & just last week told a customer they only needed the uv light if they needed their gel nails too get dry immediately....that it wasn't "that important" and a "waste of money really" WTF!!???!!!??!!?? Its located right across the street from Bellis Fair on Meridian Ave. I get all my advice from my hair dressers in LA so I don't walk in there looking like a lost puppy. I will give this store 6 stars...if only they have all the other brands as well but I know that's not possible. So I spent almost an hour browsing in this store because I wanted to buy funky hair colors and hair products etc. The sales were all very attentative, knowledgeable and super helpful. They were able to answer all my questions about developers and toners, comparison of different hair dye brands and everything else!!! I am so impressed with their patience and just being cheerful in helping me. Sally's Beauty sells anything from nail stuff, makeup and hair products etc. I think this store is mainly meant for beauty professionals to get their supplies from. I know a lot of the other professional beauty supply stores that doesn't allow outside people without a beauty license to purchase in their stores but Sally's doesn't have this restriction. Store is Clean and tidy and well organized in different sections and suoer easy to navigate. They have very good deals and specials on all the time, just pay attention to the flyers, and little tags and signs and I'm sure you will score some good buys!! For promotions they often have buy 1 get one free or buy 2 get one free, 2L shampoo sale for 18$, get a free tote If you spend over 49$ etc. They also have an awesome clearance section if you dig around. I love this place so much I even joined their membership for 5$. For their membership its basically free because they will give you back a 5$ coupon to use and have monthly special rate discounts and you pay the lower price for members( usually $0.50-$1 cheaper than non-member price). Their prices on average is very reasonable. Tonnes of parking available in the plaza. This will for sure be my number one choice to get hair products from. I can't wait to go back again!! read more

I love this chain as a whole, just not this location. The staff really aren't that friendly and every time I go in they have a "know it all" attitude. They incorrectly corrected my pronunciation of a product and every time I've been in there they've made me feel like I don't belong there because I don't know everything about hair/nails. Aren't they supposed to help customers? Isn't that their job? They've given me bad advice and had me buy unnecessary products that would have fried my hair. Honestly, if you can go to any other location please do so. The staff at the Woodinville location are SO much better and it makes me sad that I have to come to this one. read more

i've been to this location 3-5 times, and only once was there a helpful employee. I didn't get her name(DAMMIT!) but she greeted me with a nice hello, offered me help once when i was looking around, and left me alone. She was super helpful to a group of teenage girls looking to dye their hair, she seemed very knowledgeable. She was dressed very professionally, and she wore the apron that they have to wear The other visits, were a whole other story. i walk in to find the two "cashiers" gossiping across the entrance, right when you walk in there is 2 tills on either side. not only were they not discreet, many of the customers seemed really annoyed. They never said hello, or offered me any help, and when they had stopped talking i asked one of them what type of clay masks they sold there and she just said,"DUNNO, but if there is, it be in that aisle"(she didn't point by the way) Neither of them had the apron on, and neither were doing anything helpful( there was a lot of people in the store that day) theres other stuff too but i'm not gonna bother :( read more

I shopped this location on Sept. 8, 2014 to specifically purchase a professional curling iron. I had Us funds (I'm from Canada) and my bill came to $45.43, but had only $45.40 in my purse and she refused to sell me the curling iron, even though I said I would come back with 3 pennies when I met up with 3 girlfriends who where shopping in a different store near by. She was very rude and still refused to make the sale..... needless to say it will be the last I ever shop for anything in that store. read more

I've never been more disappointed about this Sally's. It's almost a year since I've been to this location & there seems to be all new staff, which is now the problem. This was a wonderful store in the past but today the manager (who seems to have a major attitude to begin with) kept bumping into me as she would step backwards helping another customer & never once apologized. A short time later, I reached up to grab a small bottle on the top shelf & it accidentally fell & broke open on the floor in front of an employee. I apologized, & apologized, she said, just don't touch it cuz it'll burn you. Then the manager came out, looked @ the floor w/a nasty look on her face, & stared down the other customer in the isle. I took responsibility of course & said, "my apologies, it accidentally slipped out of my hand. She gave me a "mm-umm" & asked if there was something I needed? So the other employee grabbed another bottle for me, I said thank you & again I'm sorry, which was met with another attitude snarky "mm-umm" from this so called manager. Now I'm frustrated for being treated like crap for an accident that I'm sure happens more often than not (I was there 5 min before I heard someone else drop something before me) so I decided I wasn't going to purchase the products due to rudeness of this woman manager. I left them in the next isle over & went to walk out & that's when I was confronted by the same woman asking me "Where the products were?" I said, "Are you accusing me of stealing?" She responded with "no, we're doing inventory." I walked over, I took them off the shelf where I put them & handed them to her. I have never been so disrespected in any store EVER. I'm pretty sure I'll never go back, unless they get all new staff again! Had I been treated w/better customer service from the manager herself, & not to have been (basically) accused of stealing, I would've happily purchased those products.
