I see Hilary at Salon 152. I love her booth and she always does what I ask for. She takes her time listening to what you want. She had really made the space inviting and fun. I have mid-length, fine hair and she knows how to cut it to give volume, but she specializes in curly hair! The price includes high-quality products which is SO worth it. First, I love calling the salon direct and making an appointment for Natalie D, rather than ANOTHER app download, password, login, etc. I have an entire family in hair, but we love seeing Natalie D. She is a gifted stylist, with a great demeanor. I have long curly, coarse hair type that Natalie does great with layers for an easy style, straight, curly or up. :-) read more

I booked Natalie D. as our makeup artist and hairstylist for my parents anniversary party. I heard about the salon through my mom and decided to give them a look. They were responsive when I needed to book them and Natalie was very communicative when it came closer to the day. Natalie did an amazing job on my mom's makeup and hair. My dad was blown away at how gorgeous my mom looked! She did an amazing job on me and my sister-in-law with our hair and makeup. It lasted all night long! Even though Natalie's help bailed on her, she was still professional, punctual, friendly, and was a great listener to all of our ideas and things that we liked (or didn't like). I asked for a rooted look and ended up with early 2000's chunky highlights. The owner of the salon claimed that there was nothing that she could do and that she would have the stylist contact me. The maximum refund that the stylist was willing to give me was $25 and trial sized shampoo/conditioner. *Small side note: The stylist took two personal phone calls during our session (I was a first time client, eek) and even asked me to tap 'answer' on her phone because she had gloves on! When I contacted the owner, it was via phone call and she said the stylist would be in contact with me regarding the issues with my hair soon. The next day, I received a TEXT MESSAGE from the stylist regarding the issues with my hair. Very unprofessional and not the way to run a business if you ask me. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend this place. read more

Hard to book Appointments, at first -cannot book through the main number because each stylist sets there own schedule. So, I had to call several times to get a number for a different stylist. Once I found someone to get schedules with I was happy. Now I don't have to go through the salon and I book with her only. read more

Kat was awesome but my hair not so much. I was ok with my hair turning purple after toner and she almost fixed it. Still lavender a little. But after I got home and researched why it would turn. Simply too much toner and left too long. I have had this process many times. I even ask why she wasn't doing toner at sink because it's usually done at sink. She said she's been doing hair forever but seems like an avoidable problem. I won't be back. P.S. my hair dry and damaged from bleaching twice. read more

I have experienced some terrible hair cuts, but now that I have been coming to salon 152 for a year, I have had nothing but the best. The prices are great, it is easy to book the appointment, and the staff is extremely friendly. I have recommended this salon to many of my friends and they love it to. I go to Emily every time and she has yet to disappoint me. She fixed my haircut when it was terrible and now makes me feel great every time I go in. I am a lifetime customer. read more

Went in for a full highlight and trim with Jessica. I have been to several high end salons in the area including Leawood, Olathe and OP and nothing compares to the amazing work Jessica did on my hair today! She perfectly highlighted my grown out blonde hair just how I wanted and was an absolute delight throughout the whole process. The atmosphere of the salon is relaxing. My hair looks amazing and it was fairly priced!!!!!! Overall I had a wonderful experience! Will be coming back for life!!! read more

I think it's ridiculous that Yelp takes all the good reviews off and leaves the bad ones on. If you're going to leave bad reviews on, then Yelp should also leave the good ones on. I'm referring to the unhappy customer named Sandi M. She complains of a bad haircut. Let's break this down just a little bit. 1. She complained of a short haircut, was it short when she left the salon? Did she not see that in the mirror? 2. A Jagger cut, has anyone seen this? Is there a picture of this? 3. She did not contact Salon 152 by email, he left a remark on their Facebook page. That is not the same thing. 4. She called a week later when she was off work. Does she work 24 hours a day 7 days a week non use of a phone? If your hair is bad why do you wait a week to make a phone call? 5. Shelly is the business owner. The ladies that cut the hair are independent contractors. It would be appropriate if Sandi wanted a refund to go back to Stacia, who cut her hair. 6. Sandi states that she does not want conflict? Yet what she doesn't tell you is that Shelly agreed to give her her money back and that she had to come in and receive it from Stacia. She made no effort to talk to Stacia. Yet she is posting bad reviews about Stacia and Salon 152 On other sites also. Notes: Sandi complain about her last haircut in Smithville saying it was cut too short also. She also made no effort to resolve the problem. Certainly questionable. Stacia is a professional hair stylist that has been in the business for over 20 years. She is easy to get along with, always willing to work with someone and always wants her clients to be happy. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Shelly runs an upscale salon and the ladies who work there are very professional in their jobs. read more

RaeAnn Reilly worked with my schedule and got me in quickly. Her cut (long layers) for my curly hair is the best I have ever had. I also love the color work she did. I had both highlights and lowlights and they looks great - especially for the hair I had coming in. Do not go to Salon 152 on North Oak to get your hair done. I went for a spiral perm. Left with a burn all the way across my neck and my hair straighter than when I walked in the door. At first they offered to redo it but the stylist, Nikki Russell, called back and said she'd have to first "inspect" my hair to make sure it was her fault and I'd have to sign a waiver before she'd fix it. Then she said if I only wanted a refund, I would get $40.00 back if SHE decided it was her fault. I spend $120.00 for the perm and a $30.00 tip. I won't jump through hoops to MAYBE get $40 of the $150 I spent. I will not go back and if you are smart, you won't go either. read more

I immediately called and stylist did agree to redo, but couldn't see her until the following month?? It did get redone, but completely uneven color, one side of her head barely has color.
