I arrived within the grace period for my appointment after fighting through all the construction traffic near the salon and was told by Liz/Lis at the front desk that I would not be accommodated, it was Friday what did I expect, and that she couldn't do anything about it. I offered a wash and rough dry. No. I offered a wash and get as far as you can on a straight blowout in 30 minutes. No.I asked for a reschedule. Nope. I asked to wait. Probably not - she would only work me in if she had a full on cancel (never mind the multiple stylists that were sitting in the back when I got there). I was told dry style (which my hair was not ready for) was the only option and because I didn't want that I needed to move aside and I was wasting her time. At that point it was clear that waiting and dry style were no longer options for me. The eye-rolling from the front desk was the cherry on top. Cancelled my membership after four years and going to start booking at a local salon instead.

Showed up 12 minutes late to a condescending front desk person that had zero empathy when I tried to checkin and instead went right to her best nasal fake girl voice to say "our policy is 10 minutes we can't take you for another two hours" (repeatedly as I tried to explain the situation). I completely understand how being late can throw other schedules off , but sounds like in two hours you'll have a buffer to make up that 2 minutes and maybe just maybe offer something for the service I'm now going to have to pay for anyways. Like the quicker blowout or dry styling. I love getting my hair done here, but the customer service has always been awful.

With as much experience as Chris has, i thought for sure she was my girl. I went to the salon for her to see my color, try a couple tests strips to find a good plan of attack for the goal, and left feeling confident she could help. She even stated herself that it worked well, and that was have a plan and to make an apt. I made an apt and unfortunately couldn't make it, and when I tried to reschedule the text i got was "I honestly don't think I'm the right stylist for your hair, goodluck in your blonding journey" and essentially bailed on me all of a sudden and for what seemed like no reason. I responded saying "i thought we had a plan?" and she never even had the decency to text me back. Now I have random platinum blonde strips in the back of my head, when the rest of it is a dark brunette (very noticeable) and nobody else in the dallas area will touch my hair. For people with so much experience you'd think a little brunette wouldn't scare them as much as it did and does. It was quickly dried and styled in center or side parts, with lots of volume, lift and swing. Elegant and easy. Derek said he couldn't understand me. I should have left immediately. What I have now is an inexplicable cut, 2-5 " off, barely chin length, huge amounts of hair removed, wispy layers everywhere, and texturizing. He has activated a mass of waves and curls never seen before. From the front, the shape is a cartoonish wide diamond. From the sides, a fat wedge. This is the opposite of what is required for copious, European, fine, porous hair with a nape curl and minimal wave. Derek basically has created a White girl Afro. He somehow dried it beautifully, disguising the weird architectural structure by using a tiny brush on myriad narrow strands, drying them straight, and contorting them via elaborate manual sculpting techniques, product and nearly an hour of work. Maybe he planned to do twice-weekly blowdries on it. I have spent many days and dollars elsewhere experimenting with product, techniques and professional advice while attempting to cope. Derek pleasantly refunded the charges and apologized for the "inconvenience." This is far worse than inconvenient.

The process was smooth- instantly have a seat with your stylist or change into a robe. I changed into comfy clothes. We did a consultation on what haircut I wanted. She cut pieces that I was going to donate, gave a shampoo and massage, then brought me back to start the actual cut. I was given a glass of wine to enjoy. Ellen asked for my opinion along in the way! She gave me the exact cut that I wanted! The location is in a popular part of town, plenty of parking, and the location is modern industrial. Loved everything about my afternoon!
