Went in for Color correction today and all I can say is, Vanessa, YOU KILLED IT GIRL!!! I LOVE IT! She looked at my color, i showed her the picture and I told her what I wanted and she showed me the color and we decided it was the one to tone down the blonde. She was sweet and kind and fun threw it all and didn't charge me, even for her time. Customer service at Salon 25 is beyond fantastic. Patrick got me in asap and he listened to me. Open on Sundays!!! Convenient for me, especially that I don't have to travel far from home to find a good salon. Chris is my stylist, but I have had Vanessa cut my hair in the past, they are both excellent, but Chris is less expensive. People are always very nice and accommodating, always offering drinks or food. Both Chris and Vanessa are Paul Mitchell trained and are practicing instructors. Been going here for about a year and got my hair cut on Sunday and I am still happy. Oh, and the hair/scalp shampoo messages are really a bonus. Thanks for reading. I am very picky when it comes to choosing a hairdresser and I read some reviews about Chris two years ago and I thought I should make an appointment and see it for myself. The atmosphere that I felt when I got there was very welcoming and thank you Patrick for being a super receptionist. I told Chris how I wanted my hair and it blew my mind when I got exactly what I've asked for and not be scared to do it. I have referred my whole family and some friends to him and I am absolutely delighted to hear how happy and satisfied they are; to also tell me that they are very thankful to finally meet someone that can cater to their needs is amazing. Susan Ung is a wonderful colorist and a generally nice person. From her, I got a color touch-up, highlights, and a hair cut. People have been complimenting me on the dimensional color ever since. It's really well done. The good thing about Susan is that she really listens to what you want. She knew I liked warmer shades, so she chose a color that was very warm and matched the rest of my hair. The highlights are blended well so that they won't look too unnatural when they grow out. The haircut was also good as she cut the layers in the manner that I requested, and it's looking very healthy. Unfortunately, this salon charges a flat fee for bang trims. It's really too bad, because many salons now are doing it for free or have a discount for regulars. Other than that, the salon is good. The salon coordinator/receptionist is very attentive - he gives you a tour during your first visit, makes sure you always have drinks or snacks, and gives a followup phone call a week later. Directions: It's in the northwest plaza at Valley View and Lakeshore. Turn in from Lakeshore and it will be on your immediate left. Parking is ample. read more

This is a long overdue review but I love this salon. It is by far the best salon experience I have ever had. Susan is an absolute goddess with hair! I have never had a cut that lasted so long and so easy to work with. She was really accommodating and she's been working with me to grow out my hair. Susan is the sweetest hairstylist ever. She knows how to carry a conversation and she also knows when I just want to chill out and relax. It's never uncomfortable at this salon and the products they use are fantastic (Paul Mitchell!). The salon itself is really cute too and everyone there is really friendly. The prices are really reasonable too they vary depending on who's cutting your hair based on experience and whatnot BUT every person in the salon know exactly what they are doing! The only downside is that it can get really busy, but that just shows how good these ladies (and one token guy) are! If you want to find serenity, talent, kindness, and an over all sense of community in a salon then this salon is for you! Everyone at Salon25 is so sweet and skillful. And I am very picky with who I let touch my hair... but, I would trust "anyone" of these wonderful stylists at this Salon with my hair. But Susan is my regular girl and I love how magical she is. I usually get my hair cut at an inexpensive Korean salon in garden grove, and I'm pretty happy with my stylist because she does a good job. However, this time I decided to try this place because: 1. My sister got a really great looking haircut when she went. 2. It was so close to my house. I was really happy I did. I've never been to a fancy salon...but this place, although small, is pretty fancy...well according to my standards. You get a short consultation about why type of cut you want, wash, massage, cut and style. I really enjoyed everyone there. They were really friendly and very helpful, great customer service! My stylist, Chris, was really nice and very willing to answer any question I had. I went around noon so it was too busy and I wasn't in too much of a hurry, so he spent some time to show me how to style my hair. My hair usually only looks good the day I get it cut because after that I don't really know how to style it so it looks good. But with the simple tips and great cut he gave me, I've been able to maintain the look I wanted, and I really love my hair cut! I finally have bangs! =P It's been over a week now. Yay! read more

I've been meaning to write a follow-up review, since I got my hair cut again at Salon 25 about a month and a half ago. This was just about a month after my first trip. The basics were still the same. The guy at the front desk is really nice and sweet. The salon is still small.. er, cozy. I had an appointment with Vanessa, who's one of the owners, and she was really sweet and easy to talk to, also! I think I showed up a bit early and had to wait for a few minutes, so the much-talked-about Chris went ahead and washed my hair for me. Let me just say this, the last time I came here, the head massage I got pretty much just felt like regular hair washing plus some wiggly fingers. Chris gives a *great* head massage. Now the whole reason I came back a month on the dot was because I was *not* happy with the cut I originally got (from a different stylist). It was pretty much just too long and too heavy. Fresh out of the salon it looked ok (the flat irons they use must be made of pixie dust because they pretty much work like magic) but it did not grow out well. I repeat, it did not grow out well. So when I came back to Salon25 I specifically asked for her to bring my bob up in the back as short as she could, and then giving me an a-line cut. In the end I still wasn't happy with it. It came out a little too short in the front, so it didn't have the kind of severe forward slope that I like. It wasn't stacked at all in the back, just has the same layering all around. And the angle was slightly concave on one side. I'm not extra picky or freak out over haircuts, so my mantra is pretty much always "let's see it when it grows out a little". Here's the part that makes me want to go back to Salon 25 and give them another shot--Vanessa cut my bob in such a way that the bottom is layered *perfectly* all the way around. It points inward slightly. Never curls out. Even the front never curls the wrong way. Her scissors must be made of the same pixie dust that their flat irons are. I really think that maybe if I could communicate a little bit better exactly what *look* I want, she'd be able to do it and give me a really well executed cut. The only other salon that I've really frequented is Regis at the Westminster Mall. The master stylists there can give me exactly the edgy looking bob that I want, but the cuts don't hold up after a month and a half. Vanessa's cut has grown out perfectly for what it is. I'll try one more time and if it doesn't work out I'm just gonna have to make the drive out to Westminster. read more

Here goes my first ever review... I've been coming to Salon 25 for 2 years now. Anything that touches your hair is Paul Mitchell from hair dye, to shampoos, to the blow dryers. Vanessa (the owner) is great! At times I'll bring her a picture of what I want and she does a great job of duplicating it and making it even better than what's in the picture. Vanessa knows what she's doing! She makes great suggestions to hair color and cut that will match your personality and face shape. I always get so excited for the shampoo portion of my cut and color. It's not just a shampoo, it's a scalp massage! AMAZING!! If you've never been here before or been coming here for years they treat you like a homie! I love coming here since I always feel welcomed. They take good care of you the moment you come in from the greeting, to drink offers (water, ice tea and alcoholic beverages), and of course your cut and color. I've found my regular spot and no one... i mean NO ONE.... is allowed to touch my hair... unless you're Vanessa! The only con about this place is it's pretty pricey, so I don't come as often as I should. read more

I found this salon on Yelp an quickly discovered what all the hype was about. Salon 25 is a great little salon just across the St. from Cypress College. They have excellent customer service in a fun & friendly atmosphere. I got my hair cut by stylist Jessica last week and I really loved the way it turned out. I decided to go back to her the next week and get some dimension color to complete my new style, I went for a natural looking ombré. Jessica did beautiful work and super sweet & adorable. My long time college friend recommended this Salon after I commented on her hair and she provided me with Salon 25 business card. I was a little hesitant at first just because the location (in Cypress) was a drive for me since I live in Brentwood. I didn't want to take a chance on a random salon in my town (given the recession; I wanted a sure deal). My hair stylist (Vanessa) and hair colorist (Julie) have worked with me now for almost a year. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. I walked in this small salon in a strip mall just looking for a regular haircut. It's close to my home and the previous yelp reviewer sounded happy enough so I decided to give it a shot. My hair was looking rather drab after my layers started to resemble something that could come from The Little Shop of Horrors. But Teresa, a young, cute Filipina stylist, changed my hum drum hair to sleek and smooth. She made sure I got exactly what I wanted by asking many questions to what type of style I wanted (bangs, simple, straight) and that's exactly what she did. I have been debating if I wanted to do a review on this place for a while now.. So i got my hair done in August by susan. It was a last minute appointment and i was told by the receptionist that she was one of the best. Ok, so i come in and tel her that i want some highlights....And she did an ok job....however, for the price, and i think it was like 5 dollars for every extra bowl, i do not think it was worth the cost. I felt very awkward during the duration of getting my hair done with Susan. I felt as if she did not try hard enough to make some friendly conversation with me. Also, while everyone was being offered a wine or even a beer, i just got a plain old water. Maybe its because i look younger than 21? who knows. So the whole time, about 4 hours maybe, im sitting in this chair barely even making any eye contact..... Kinda a turn off...that could just be her personality tho, who knows. Anways so my hair turned out lighter, which is what i wanted, but i do not think for the price it was worth it.... I have also read that many clients have gotten thank you notes from their stylists? i never got one... Needless to say, i wont be going back... This past week had my cut and color done from Vanessa and Jasmin assisting for my color. First time here and was recommended from a friend to check them out. Been going to Costa Mesa for haircuts but decided that driving out there was too time consuming and expensive so here I am at Salon 25... Overall GREAT experience for a first time client! Like previous reviews, receptionist Patrick gave a general tour of the salon and explained a lot of benefits of the salon (ie: guarantee of products sold if you're not happy with them and punch card after 5 haircuts, 6th is free - SCORE!). Jasmin sat me down and Vanessa came to introduce herself then started my consultation. Loved that Vanessa showed me hair color off their IPad and happen to show the picture of Nicole Richie's dark hair that I loved. So that's how my hair color turned exactly to be!! Played up my drabby one color hair to nice, glossy, chocolate brown, and healthy hair once again! Plus Jasmin gave me a bomb hair massage which I think I fell asleep during it since it was that relaxing, lol Showed her a picture of a friend's hair to Vanessa and again, cut my hair exactly how it was supposed to be off the picture and gave me the best textured side swept bangs i wanted. Plus I HATE when stylists cut the back of the hair and make it too blunt off the bottom that I look like I have a bowl haircut. Not Vanessa, cut is tapered to my neck to avoid that and stacked it up perfectly. The haircut and color were not only the bonus things...asked Vanessa about how to achieve the beachy, tousled waves in my hair since I wanted to do it for NYE. Told her every time I do it with a curling iron and flat iron, I look like orphan Annie. Gave me the best tips to achieve it by buying a texturing salt spray, diffuser, and jaw clips. Went out to buy it that day, did my hair for NYE how she told me, and BAM! my hair turned out, again, exactly want it wanted it too!!! Vanessa is now my go-to stylist that is a steal for the prices she charges! Cut and color $100...can't beat that. Before I begin, I just wanted to mention how I am not friends with any of the stylists or workers at this salon, they are not forcing me to post this review! These are my own thoughts and feelings during my experience! :) First off, I literally just got home from my visit from Salon 25 and HAD to post this review. I don't normally get my hair done, it's usually a once a year type of thing, so I don't have a stylist that I go to all the time. I decided to try out this salon because my sister got her ombre done here, and I actually had my hair styled for my 18th birthday here before. I also have heard amazing reviews, I follow them on their Instagram, and Facebook, and have seen all of their amazing work. I HAD extremely long hair all the way to the top of my butt, and felt that it was time for a transformation cut. I originally had my appointment for tomorrow (Friday 4/6, today is Thursday 4/5) with Vanessa, but I got out class early today and was super anxious for my cut tomorrow that I just couldn't wait. I called in about 15 minutes before they opened (9:45am) and Patrick, thankfully answered the phone and was able to helpfully schedule my last minute decision cut to this morning at 10. I came into the salon, LATE! Because I had forgotten my wallet at home -____- haha, but they were very understanding, and even showed some concern when Patrick texted me (a little before I finally arrived) making sure everything was okay. I had told Berlinda, my stylist, that I was planning to donate my hair so she tied it and cut it into two ponytails ready for me to send! I was able to show her a picture of what I wanted (Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars :D) and she agreed, liked it, and got started with a wash. BTW I felt so relaxed because they do a full on massage for your scalp, it was so soothing! Berlinda is so awesome! She kept me entertained, kept conversation, and read my mind when I told her what I wanted and was so cooperative! I even asked her to teach my how to curl my hair and what I should do (she was so understanding and helpful! She even told me I looked like an asian version of Lucy Hale! How flattering :) hahah) I was scared at first, but she made sure that I was in good hands, by telling me her own haircut experiences! I definitely will ask for her again when I need a cut! Not only do they have amazing stylists, but they also do a great job with their customer service. While getting my hair done, I just heard Patrick on the phone calling all of their last Thursday clients, making sure everything was going good. I LOVE HOW THEY DO THAT! This place is amazing! I always try to go around cutting and dying my hair because I always feel I'll hate it. However, this salon really goes the extra mile in making sure everyone leaves a happy camper. I ended up getting a cut and dye from Jasmine and I couldn't be anymore happy with it! Jasmine really helped me in deciding what to do with my hair and she is one skilled hair dresser! They also make you apart of their conversations and I guarantee they'll make you laugh! As a guy, it is basically the most impossible task to find a place that can cut my hair with more attention to detail than a "2 on the sides 4 on the top" barber shop. This place is that perfect balance, they mostly cut women's hair from my observations but I have seen tons of guys in here as well as recommendations from other male friends. (I now recommend it to my male friends as well as female friends). Chris is my go-to zen master of hair and awesomeness but I have worked with Vanessa before and she is just as amazing. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The salon recently moved into a larger location (right across from where their old location was) and the new location is great! I really liked my haircut/treatment and service at Salon 25! The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. My stylist delivered exactly what I wanted for haircut and finishing style. They were also very attentive to the client's hair care; I got a follow-up call to ask how my hair cut/style was holding up a few days after my haircut, and a reminder that it was time for a trim several months after. They also carry many top-notch Paul Mitchell products and tools for a fraction of the retail price. I ended up purchasing the Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Ion Curl XL curling iron (retail $120, amazon $85) for $58 at Salon 25!! I love this curling iron to DEATH; super fast/easy loose wavy curls for my stubbornly straight Asian hair. I only gave them 4 stars because my stylist arrived 20 minute late to my appointment because she overslept from a night of partying. I didn't make that story up; I overheard her telling another stylist. I was kind of annoyed at first but they gave me a free conditioning treatment to make up for my lost time. read more

Salon 25... awww.... what can I say? This place is awesome first, because they have one of the best customer service attitudes that I have ever experienced at a business of any type. I was in a frenzy while wedding planning and I did not have a place that could do my wedding hair. Patrick was great about working with me on planning and coordinating my pre plans since I was in a panic to find a salon (okay, I was very behind in that I only had less than 5 weeks before the wedding before I contacted a place). I found Salon 25 online and they had pics of updos (prom hair) that was very similar to what I wanted. I did not want to have all my hair up or all down, but wanted cascading curls. Patrick helped me schedule a trim and a Sneak Peak session with Moya for my wedding hair. She was so SWEET and very accommodating. She gave me suggestions and did a great job with my sample hair. While I was getting my sneak peak updo, he even went next door to help me order a sandwich while my hair was getting made up! Prior to the wedding, Patrick confirmed details and even hooked up a couple things due to some confusion. On the wedding day, he scheduled Moya to be at the house a little earlier than our time to make sure she could set up and gave her some extra time just in case. Thank GOD because of course my wedding party came out of the woodwork to get her to help them with their hair. She just told Patrick to add it to the bill. I'm very picky when it comes to picking hairstylists. I usually end up leaving some places feeling quite unsatisfied with my look. I feel like they give me a generic cut instead of really see what works with my face shape and style. But if you're looking at a place that will actually cater to what you want, then this is the place to go. Vanessa, my stylist, is so adorable. I give her a lot of room for creativity because I trust that she will make my hair look amazing. And she has yet to prove me wrong. I usually tell her a general idea of what I want and she'll give me suggestions and see if that's the direction I want to go. BUT THIS Place. i love. dont be fooled by the size. u know when u go in and tell them what you want...well guess what they do exactly what i wanted. Today was my first time walking into Salon 25. I must say I was surprised that the facility was small but it was clean & professional & the staff was BEYOND friendly. (I like this place) I was there to see Chris and was seated within 5 minutes, I was offered a beverage & asked if I needed anything else to make me comfortable (so far, off to a great start). As soon as Chris touched my hair, he asked detailed Q's about what I want & like. I'm very picky & detailed so I made sure to tell him exactly what I liked but that I was open to suggestions. He listened, & then asked how I felt about some of his suggestions, I agreed to try them & we were off to get my hair shampooed. I got the absolute most wonderful massage & deep condition. The best from any salon I've been to...(getting better & better). Chris began to cut my hair & took his time, which I liked because the last thing you want is someone to rush with your haircut. He was very friendly, polite & talkative, he didn't ask personal Q's which I appreciated. He made me feel comfortable, it was nice to sit there & converse while being worked on & I could hear the other staff talking to their clients & they as well were being very friendly & professional...(I'm starting to love this place). After my cut was done, Chris asked if he could style it a certain way, I agreed. I appreciated that he asked instead of jumping right on in & doing whatever he wanted. When he finished up I was....TOTALLY HAPPY! I really like the cut & it was exactly what I wanted. Granted I gave very detailed instructions on how I wanted my style to go, but everyone should do that if they're trying a new salon for the first time. My overall experience with the salon was TERRIFIC, I really liked the staff & service. Chris was wonderful. Okay, so this review is long overdue.... but, I think it's better late than never right? :) So, I came across this salon through my now husband (then fiancé) in October of last year. I had a stylist that I found near home who I had a decent experience the first time I went. But, the second salon visit was a nightmare. It was a week before my wedding and the stylist botched my hair color so badly that I was shedding tears and freaking out. I cried to my husband telling him what happened and he had called his salon (Salon 25) to see if they had any immediate appointments (he explained to them what happened to my hair). Luckily, they had an opening and scheduled me with Katrina.She fixed the botched mess that was my hair and left it looking amazing right in time for my wedding. Let me tell you, if it wasn't for my hair disaster, I wouldn't have met the only person who I let cut/color/style my hair now.I have gone back to her for my other hair appointments ever since and she never disappoints. The owners of the salon, Chris and Vanessa, are also very sweet people. :) And the rest of the people who work there are also super sweet. I randomly found Salon 25 through Yelp and decided to try it out. I opted for the "artistic" cut which goes for about $50. I have long hair and asked that we keep the length, give me lots of volume and maintain my side swept bangs, and my stylist, Vanessa did just that. She's really great with layers and texturizing. The back and crown of my hair looks awesome with a lot of body. However, my other stylist was better with the side swept bangs. Besides that , it was a great experience. Vanessa is very skillful and a very very sweet girl. She even gave me a lesson on how to use hot rollers instead of a curling iron for faster and softer curls. The place is small in a little strip mall. The salon is cute inside. The shampoo wash was one of the best I've had. I will definitely come back. read more

Chris, my stylist, assured me that they give a 5 minute scalp-stimulating massage with each service. I love that. Now, the first time I went to the salon, I was a little nervous because I didn't really know what I wanted, but I did know that my hair was fried from other highlights I had been getting. I knew that Chris would have to cut out a lot of my hair, but I gave him free reign. I just told him that I wanted to keep some of my length (it's at about boob length). Boy did he deliver! I was really nervous at first because he was cutting a lot of length off of my layers and I'd only had long layers before that, but when he was done, my hair looked beautiful. It was shiny and new looking (which is hard when you've been highlighting your hair for over a decade!). He also mixed in some lowlights to help break up my super blonde areas. With the prospect of becoming a mom on the horizon I knew my long hair was just too much to work with so. I asked Chris to work his magic and boy did he. I am so happy! Chris cut my hair into a little bob perfect for a mom on the go! Chris said he would make my husband a believer in short hair and man was he right! My husband cant keep his hands off my hair. The salon is so cute intimate and warm, I loved the front desk staff and the scalp massage was out of this world! Chris was so fun to chat with and really knows his stuff! I am extremly happy! I had been growing out my hair for a long time and wanted to get a great layered cut for a fair price. But most of all, I wanted to go to someone who wasn't outdated in cutting styles as well. I met Vanessa, Chris and Nancy at an event we both were guest speakers at and I could tell just by their OWN cuts, they knew what they were doing. (Self promotion and advertising says a lot about what you can do for your own clients' hair.) The salon is easy to find and there's easy parking. I was greeted by Patrick, who offered cold water and was welcomed into their cute salon. Sky got to wash my hair and she did an INCREDIBLE job. She massaged my head which is perfect because I had a headache that she helped make go away. : ) It felt sooooo good! The Paul Mitchell products they used all smelled fresh and natural, too. Vanessa, the owner, was the one who worked on my hair. She asked what I wanted and suggested "Victorias Secret Hair" (long flowy layers). I thought that was cute that they had a name for it. It made me giggle. She also suggested some color (which I decided to do at the next appointment). What's important to note is that if you are looking to change your look with color, she even offered alternatives if you didn't want to spend a lot (because people assume highlights always have to be super expensive. Just ask - don't assume. She's that good that she will help you come up with a solution.) In the end I had soft, long layers. It was GORGEOUS. THE BEST HAIR CUT I'VE EVER HAD. I hate spending a lot of time fixing my hair in the morning, but the cut was so well done that it's super easy to fix - and I don't have that smooth super straight hair, it's actually half wavy half straight - difficult. Vanessa even showed me how to use hot rollers to achieve the same look, but faster instead of just with a blow dryer and round brush. Not only is Vanessa incredible at cutting hair, I could tell that she is incredibly passionate at what she does. She loves helping people get a great cut/color. Even more importantly, with Vanessa as the owner, I could tell that she runs her business the right way and creates a wonderful, relaxed environment not only for her clients, but even for the stylists that work with her. Creativity and fun are definitely found in this salon. If you're looking to be totally happy with a new look, I HIGHLY suggest you give Salon 25 a shot. Definitely worth it. I admit I'm one of those people who use Yelp a lot, but don't Yelp back with reviews. But this is pretty much only because it takes me a long time to be sure I want to write one - and for that, it's gotta be pretty awesome. Which this place is! Yes it's a little pricey, but it's Paul Mitchell Focus Salon - I'll take it as that. It's worth every penny every time I visit Vanessa (my stylist). I've seen her every single time every two months on the dot for nearly a year now. Each time I go, I let her play and give me ideas of what she wants to do with my hair and we always come up with a idea I feel happy and comfortable with. And actually even my near close to not great moment with Salon25, when I was a bit startled by how bright my last hair color turned out, Vanessa was able to work with me and tone it down what I felt comfortable with. They're out to make the client happy! Just be sure to express your thoughts/questions/concerns and don't leave without being satisfied & happy because that's what they're there to do for you and your hair. Each time I visit, I leave never I looking the same, (long plain dark hair to shorter shorter asymmetric/angled bobs with new red colors / highlights / etc... wee~) It sounds crazy to start, but I never walk out the door feeling anything less than giddy and happy with my look. And strangers', friends', family's, coworkers' compliments all affirm the quality of her work. And I LOVE how welcoming and friendly they are! It really is like visiting close friends - they always offer drinks of all sorts (alkee and non!!) and even when the MOM came to visit and bought everyone pizza for lunch, Vanessa still invited to stay for food too. They're warm personalities and the simple friendly environment of the salon will put any nervous anxious hair client at ease. I think the prices account for their services - skills, creativity, and overall experience; and they deserve it. Sure, everyone would like a cheaper price, but you really do get what you pay for. At least you know you aren't paying the high prices so that your money can go towards funding an foo-foo salon with crazy decor but rather it really goes to the people and their services. I also must give them credit for the events they do outside of salon business hours / regular clients. Not only slashing normal costs for haircuts, but donating the proceeds to the community... all when you don't need to give up your business hours or that kind of potential cash flow. I never have time to get my hair done and do my own hair so when i came in to see Vanessa my hair was a complete mess!!! I did go somewhere else to get my hair done but it was nothing near what i wanted. I told her what i wanted and she gave me everything i wanted!!! Everything was perfect, i love the enviroment and how they are all friends and how happy it is. I also got a hair cut and im never ever ever happy with a hair cut cause its always not what i asked for. But vanessa asked me so many different questions on how i wanted my hair cut and its perfect absolutley perfect. I came back a week later for the amazing keratriplex treatment and they all remembered me when i came in! they are awesome they know exactly what they are talking about, and know alot and can give you exaclty what you want.
