8/18/25 I made a big boo boo when I to cut my own hair. It was pretty bad so I reached out to Lia to see if she had any openings. She was able to get me in same day and damage control. Both sides were uneven and I needed a cut that would still allow me to put my hair up halfway but also allow it to grow out to achieve length again. I found this salon via Yelp, so I feel like I should sort of pay it forward by leaving a review of my experience as well. My 2 daughters and I have all gotten haircuts here in the past week, and we are all really, really happy with the results! We are multi-racial (I'm White/Japanese, and my kids are White/Japanese/Hispanic), and all three of us have very different hair textures. Mine is a mix of coarse and fine that is wavy in the back and curly in the front, my older daughter has thick but very fine hair that is mostly straight, and my younger daughter has EXTREMELY thick hair that is coarse and wavy with a little curl. In the past when we've gone to other salons closer to home, I've felt like no matter what we showed our stylist or how we described what we wanted, we always left with pretty much the same basic haircut. It wasn't ever really a bad haircut, just not quite what we wanted and little to no adjustments to account for different hair textures. So this time I decided to branch out a little further from home and started browsing Yelp reviews and photos. When I looked at the photos for Lia's salon, I noticed right away that there is much more variety in the style and shape of her haircuts than I was seeing at most other places. My daughters both had pictures of the cuts they wanted, and Lia did an amazing job of working with their hair texture to achieve the looks that they wanted. I just kinda described what I was going for, and she gave me a haircut that looked amazing and sleek when she styled it, and also looks super cute when I wear it with my natural curls and waves. I think I found my new favorite salon! I decided to cut my hair very last minute and to try this place out. I'm so glad I did! Lia was so nice and welcoming when I first walked in. She did a little consultation on my hair and when I showed her a picture of the style I wanted to went into details of how she'll be cutting it. She was a bit shocked to see how long and thick my hair is, but that doesn't surprise me - most salon that I've been has the same reaction. She was pretty informative during the cutting stage by letting me know why she's trimming/ cutting my hair in a certain angle. When it came the washing my hair, she was incredibly knowledgeable about her hair products. I have never met any stylist educating me the types of shampoo, hair moisturizer, serum, etc that was used on my hair during service and I appreciate it so much. Lia takes her time with consultation, making sure she understands what you are looking for while giving her expert opinion/suggestions on what would be good for your hair and what would look good. I wanted to forego getting my roots dyed regularly to hide my greys - instead I got highlights for the first time. Lia expertly placed highlights, so it will look more natural when my greys come out. I've been dyeing my hair at LIA SALON ORGANIC. The two things I liked were that first of all, when I went to the other hair shop, it smelled like hair dye and perm, but Lia salon was clean without that chemical smell.
