Angie has a lovely personality, thoroughly explains procedures, and does top notch work. I recently had a mani and pedi by Tiffany. The pedi was amazing because of the massage. I've had a lot of manis and pedis in my life, but these were the best. Also, I was the only person getting a mani and pedi. Their set up suggests that only one client at a time is allowed to get a mani or pedi. I don't know whether this has always been their set up or if it's new due to Covid. Also, when getting the mani, Tiffany and I were separated by a plexiglass shield. From now on I'll only get manis and pedis from Tiffany at Radiance. My regular (non-gel) mani lasted almost 2 weeks! I recently had my hair colored by Teresa. She did a great job. She has also blown-out my curly hair a few times, making it nice and straight, but with bounce. Gabby has washed my hair and gives an awesome scalp massage! Radiance at Lansdowne takes Covid seriously and follows strict protocol to prevent transmission. They got an all-new building air filtration system early in the pandemic. All employees wear masks at all times: they don't even eat in the building as that would mean removing their masks! And, if you'd like the employee you'll be seeing to double-mask and wear a face shield, you can just let the front desk know and they'll accommodate your request. They follow an anti-Covid cleaning regimen that's VERY thorough and do not allow employees to work if they are sick. Before your appointment you must complete a questionnaire that assesses the possibility that you've been infected. You must call the salon from your car when you arrive for your appointment and they will let you know when you may enter the building. They have hand sanitizer at the door and expect all clients to sanitize their hands upon entering the building. I am super paranoid about getting Covid, but feel safe going to Radiance at Lansdowne.

I go to pay and am charge $113 before tip. When I ask where the other money is coming from they say, "you got your hair curled which is an additional $33" (plus another $5 eco charge?). If I would have been told that curling my above-the-shoulder hair was going to be an additional $33 I would not have moved forward with that. I was shocked that I was not told that at the time of styling that it would be a surcharge (and anyways, $33 to curl hair??) Writing this review to warn others of "hidden" charges. Perhaps this is standard but I was completely surprised and am turned off from returning.

I had asked if my hair can be styled the same way in my reference photo. I believe the stylist tried to do it using a flat iron. The only thing is that the result didn't look like the style, which was attributed to the different texture of my hair from the person on the reference photo. I know it isn't because my hair can't hold a curl; I know my hair can hold a curl because I do it myself on rare occasions without any gels or anything. The result I got for my hair could've been achieved with a blowout (which would've been at no extra charge). If the style could've been close to the styling of the reference photo, I would not be upset with the extra styling charge. However, again, a blowout could've achieved the same result and allowed me to avoid the extra charge. I have include the reference photo and end result photos of the service. For this, I removed 2 stars from my previous review because it's my birthday, I didn't want to waste time and dispute the charge at the salon and I'm a little miffed about the extra charge for results that looks like a blowout rather than a "deluxe-style." Again, I like my haircut and am happy with it. I would probably not be back again because I'm unhappy with the surprise charge. Surprise charges aren't part of my previous experiences with the salon.

I remember sitting in my chair waiting for her to come back. She had to get someone else to shampoo me.... Fast forward, I booked with someone who doesn't work there any more. I remember being on the phone with the "receptionist," she wasn't very friendly and didn't have good communication skills. When I arrived to the salon, there was no one sitting behind the desk to greet me. I sat in the lobby for at least 10 minutes with no greeting. I had to walk to the back to find my stylist. My stylist was amazing and did a great job with my hair. She is the only reason I'm not giving one star. The more recent visit, it was absolute chaos with people running around everywhere, no product to shampoo with, and dirty sinks. I remember one stylist -in-training being absolutely obnoxious and unprofessional, making inappropriate statements to my stylist while I was in the chair. I have followed my stylist to a new place so I haven't been back to Jenny's in a while. I hope things can change for their sake.

Also, I am not a member of the gym the salon is located inside and, at this latest visit, I told the front desk I was going to the salon, went upstairs, then realized one of the guys from the front desk was following me. The front desk staff is the best: welcoming and patient. This place is busy: each of the stylists have their own flair. I am so fortunate to have found Jaime.
