This review is for Jen Israel, who I hired for my September 2012 wedding. Hiring Jen Israel for my wedding was one of the best decisions I made. Not only did my hair look fantastic all night long, but Jen was an absolute delight to be around. She was so calm and great to have in the room getting ready with all of my bridesmaids before the wedding. As for my hair, I have long, thick hair that doesn't like curl, and Jen suggested the perfect look. She also did a fantastic job with all of my bridesmaids. She made sure that everyone was happy with their hairstyles. As an added plus, Jen was able to fit me in the day before my wedding (on short notice) to do a deep conditioning treatment and style my hair before my rehearsal diner. Absolutely gorgeous salon!! I just LOVE coming here...the chandeliers are so...SPARKLY! Seriously, very pretty place, and very CLEAN, which is very important to me. I go here to see muh grrrrl Jen, who is absolutely amazing! She is always accommodating, very careful to ask what I want and do her best to follow it while still injecting some much-needed style of her own into my hair. She knows what she's doing. Just a couple months ago, Jen did my firstest-EVER highlight job (I have red hair and my fam and friends consider it sacred, so I have always been afraid to change it, but I finally figured, WTF), with extremely vague guidance from me as I had NO CLUE what I wanted or what I was doing, just that I was so terrified I was literally shaking (not due to lack of faith in her of course, just my own fear of the unknown). I put my trust in her and my virgin hair in her capable hands, and two months later, I am STILL getting compliments on my 'gorgeous hair.' Prices are quite reasonable, service is ALWAYS friendly, courteous, and quick, the work is beautiful, stylish, current and fabulous, and if you refer two new clients to Jen, she will give you a free cut! Samantha has cut my hair a few times, and I've been super happy with it each time. I have thick, super curly hair, so finding a great hair stylist is always a chore...and kind of scary. She does a great job, she's super nice, and the prices are WAY more reasonable than other local places I've gone. When I first moved to Pleasanton I got my hair done at a place that is known for curly cuts in Livermore...and left unhappy. A friend recommended Samantha, and I'm so glad! Samantha specializes in all sorts of cuts, but if you have curly hair that stresses you out when you need a cut, go to her! My glam squad: Jen Hatcher and Lisa Teller. They are the SHIZZ..... I hired them for my wedding on 4/6/13 and let me tell you, a week after my wedding I was still receiving compliments from my guests about how GORGEOUS my bridal party looked, myself included. These two are a must-hire if you want a professional, talented and AMAZING duo to glam you up for a photo shoot, wedding, night on the town, etc. I seriously wish i had found them sooner! I also wish I had the funds to have them glam me up like once a week!!!! I initially hired another person to do my hair and makeup, but after a change of heart and a gut feeling of "this is not the right person for my big day", I found Jen and Lisa through an internet search. Their own personal websites had amazing testimonials, before and afters, and although they were a bit out of my way (they're based out of Pleasanton, I live in Oakland which isn't more than 20-25mins) something told me to see them for a consult. I saw them each on different days, but they did not disappoint. The one thing I really appreciated about both of them is that they LISTENED to what I wanted, and what I didn't want. That didn't happen with the first person I hired, and this was huge for me with regards to booking someone and feeling comfortable with them. Jen noticed right away that I wasn't in love with the first up-do she did, which I showed her from a picture. She did exactly what the picture looked like, but on me, it didn't look good and she noticed my facial expression immediately! Instead of taking it personal which I'm sure other stylists would do, she immediately took it down, played around with my hair and in less than 5 mins girlfriend created my wedding 'do and I had a huge smile on my face!!!!!! Jen is AWESOME. What's even more awesome is that I had to go right back to work after our consult, and I'm a personal trainer so I couldn't really waltz back into the gym with my hair in wedding mode, so she took it down, did this cute front/side braid and intertwined it into a fun, messy bun so I could go back to work. LOVE HER! On my wedding day, she arrived ON TIME, set-up in less than ten minutes, and got us on our way. My bridal party was blown away by how talented she is, and we've all been in weddings where we weren't in love with how our hair was done, but trust me, all my bridesmaids and the 2 flower girls kept telling me how much they LOVED their hair! Lastly, my hair got compliments such as "Your hair was WOW", and "You looked iconic". Thank you Jen Hatcher! Lisa Teller is beyond words INCREDIBLE at what she does. I am super picky when it comes to getting my makeup done, mostly because I HATE when stylists put too much on and I don't look like myself. Also, I had to tell the first person I hired to blend in some foundation on my forehead after she was done (she didn't notice it, I did....not good), and she put way too much blush on me, which I also hate. I told Lisa this on our consult, and she listened, did exactly what I wanted and then some, and made me look AMAZING. When I got home that night after our consult, the first thing my fiance said was "WOW!!". I didn't get that response with the initial makeup artist. Lisa also used fake lashes which I was hesitant about because my eyelashes are pretty long already, but she still made me look natural, highlighted my eyes and used airbrush foundation, which is also a MUST for a wedding! On my wedding day, she did my makeup without a mirror in front of me. When she was done, she handed me a mirror and I immediately began to tear up because I looked freakin' incredible and damnit it feels good to say that! It was the realization that I was truly going to look beautiful when I say "I do", and my hair was done as well, so that combined finished-look was one I will never forget. Lisa and myself had to start doing the "fanning" thing to my face and eyes so I wouldn't cry, but these two ladies are truly gifted and I am so happy I went with my gut and hired both of them. This was my first time getting beautified at Salon 645. The salon has a very nice ambiance and I just love the decor, really cute and feels as though much thought went into it. I went to Lindsay, a woman with true talent and very sweet demeanor. She came recommended by a coworker. Unsure of what I wanted to do with my long hair with about 6 inches of roots, I let her take the reins and she crafted my coif into the ultimate big haired masterpiece. She gave me two colors of blonde and also wove in some carmely brown to add dimension. Exactly what I wanted! She also gave me some great advice about how I can tame my cowlick! Christie is AMAZING!! I purchased a groupon and went to another salon hoping to get a quick fix with highlights to cover a few gray hairs and boy it was a disaster!!! I have pitch black hair and they put in blond highlights and all a week before my brothers wedding. I immediately called Christie and she tried to fit me in her schedule and also asked around her fellow co-workers to see if anyone could accommodate me. Mind you I have been going to Christie for 3 years or so and was always very happy with her service so not sure why I even went with someone else. I found 645 Salon after searching yelp for a great salon. The reviews were plenty to head me in their direction but it is nothing compared to the cute ambiance the salon has! I walked in and immediately felt this chic modern feel. I loved the decor so much I started leaning towards painting my bedroom the same beautiful color of the salon. As I walked in I was immediately welcomed by a very nice and beautiful face. I explained I had not had my hair highlighted in a year or so and my hair style (by default) was now an ombré. No judgment at all came from this amazing hairstylist named Gina Boyd. In stead she rushed me off to her chair and started her work. Not once did we have that awkward silence. I felt immediately comfortable! Being a very wish washy kinda client it's always hard for a hair stylist to know what I like or what I need. With that being said I was blown away by Gina's ability to read me and give me a very functional hair cut. We laughed as she cut off my pseudo ombré and discussed plans of the next phase. I have never had such personal care and such an AMAZING hair cut and style. If you happen to be walking in beautiful downtown Pleasanton consider 645 Salon but especially Gina Boyd! I have been going to Christi at Salon 645 for years and am so happy. I had searched for the right stylist for so long, months of bad experiences or paying waaaayyy to much - then I found Christi. Whether I am going dark for Fall or adding highlights for Summer, she always gets it right. She just colored my hair for my wedding, and I received so many compliments on my color (I went lighter brown than normal and it worked out perfectly). I'm a regular of Christi's and she's fantastic! She always listens to my ever-changing color requests and has helpful recommendations as well. Also, I never feel pressured to buy products or do more to my hair than I request, as I have at other salons in the past. It doesn't hurt that Christi is a pleasure to chat with and after every visit I leave feeling younger with my long hair free of grey and natural looking, as I like it! Before I moved out of CA, salon 645 was my go-to salon. I was Christi's customer and I would sometimes drive 1.5 hours from San Jose to have my appointment with her. Before I met Christi, I was having trouble achieving the length of hair I wanted. I have fine wavy hair that doen't grow very fast. Christi would trim my hair just enough to clean the bad ends without cutting too much so that I could grow my hair. My boyfriend and later husband also went to Christi and really liked the results. I visited Christi recently for my follow on hair cut. What I love about Christi is she is always on time, does a courtesy reminder, and has worked with me to get my wild crazy hair where I want it. I have naturally a lot of hair, curly, and a lot of gray and rough texture due to natural aging. We have progressed at my wishes to where my cute cut is today - and I thought the previous cuts were adorable.
