My hair gets pretty damaged with daily heat styling but Natalie was able to keep my hair long and styled with bouncy layers. Other places I've been to with the same request chop off several inches from my hair and it takes forever to grow back. UGH. Ever since Natalie has been cutting and styling my hair I've had so many compliments. My hair has seriously never looked this good! First time here was a couple weeks ago. I hadn't cut my hair in over a year so it was super dry and damaged at the ends. I had bleached ends from my hair being blonde but at the time it was fading from dying it blue. Anthony was super sweet and attentive. He gave me straight bangs and layered my hair in a way that I could keep the length of it decently long. He also re-colored my hair the exact shade I wanted! I've washed it about 6 times and usually by now my hair has already started to fade in the past. The color he used lasts much longer than the special fxs I've been using. First, the salon itself is absolutely beautiful! I have never seen a more spaced out and gorgeous salon! Usually when I go it's small packed or if it's big it still feels crowded. Second, Silva and Sonia are amazing receptionist ! Very attentive to my needs and even helped me with directions :) Third, I loved that they offered me coffee, tea & Etc because they go the extra mile to please their clients ! Fourth , Janine is absolutely amazing ! I recommend her to anyone who wants to get their hair cut! She was also attentive to my needs and her attention to detail was amazing . Some stylist try to do what they like but she did exactly what I wanted and I loved it . I have had a lot of traumatic incidents with cutting my hair, and was worried this would happen again . I can honestly say I have absolutely nothing to complain about when it comes to this salon and the stylists that work here. I went to Salon Aguayo after a terrible hair experience at another salon, I was desperate and THANKFULLY somebody referred me to Salon Aguayo for a color correction and I am grateful for that. Sarah took her time with me and consulted with me before we started the process. She was sweet, professional, and patient with me. She talked through the entire process with me and maintained a great attitude through it all. She gave me hope that my hair could be fixed. As far as the salon itself, it's beautiful! Very clean, professional and welcoming. I love how each stylist has their own style and they all truly love what they do. I saw that Aguayo had steller reviews & I went. Sarah cut my hair & she knocked it out of the park. She was super cool & put me at ease. I don't speak hair, so I fumbled to explain what I wanted. Sarah is the dream colorist who listens to you, asks questions to really understand what you want and then sets about to create it. Even the first time I saw here, when I was nervous after some weird baylagae experiences, she created a beautiful look while simultaneously explaining to me where she/we was headed next. I love it. I was in town for a week and decided to get balayage highlights. I called the salon to ask to schedule an appointment with a master stylist and they booked an appointment with Alex. I was very specific about what I wanted. I have been getting balayage for 20 years and never had any problems until this visit. I showed her pictures of my hair right after previous balayage appointments. I told her I wanted to stay golden blonde like what I currently had and that I wanted highlights around my face because I pull my hair back in a ponytail and don't want to see a line of demarcation. My highlights are greenish gray and there are none around my face. I immediately called to schedule an appointment to get it fixed. They scheduled me for a consultation. When I got there Alex told me she didn't have time to fix it and that bleach would only turn my hair orange even though I have had bleach for 20 years and it never turned orange, green or gray. She refused to fix it and told me I would have to have someone else there fix it. When I went to the receptionist he said that Alex is an independent contractor and doesn't work for the salon so I have to resolve it with her. They never told me when the scheduled the appointment that they were scheduling with someone who does not work for the salon. Worst color experience ever. read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Karen Spinelli for almost ten years now and will not let anyone else touch my hair. I have long, thick, red hair that is difficult yet when done right can be my best attribute (thanks mostly in part to Karen's styling and advice). In the past, I've tried going to a few other stylists, but found that they didn't listen and interpret what I was looking for the way Karen does. Sometimes I simply give Karen a few adjectives (e.g. wispy, edgy, fun, fierce, flirty, etc) and she is able to give me exactly what I'm looking for from the cut itself to highlights to a brazilian blowout. Salon Aguayo is a beautiful salon that I find to be clean, relaxing, classy, and professional. I now live in Santa Monica and still drive all the way to Pasadena to get my hair cut by Karen there. I honestly dread the day that I may move far enough away that I will have to find another salon and most importantly another hairstylist as good as Karen. read more

I went here for the first time today. I moved to the area recently and needed a new hairdresser. I got recommended to this salon so I read reviews and made an appointment with Sarah. They have an online appt system that is super simple and easy to use. Sarah was great! She is stylish and spunky and seems like she knows what she is talking about. I got a simple cut, but she took her time and did a good job. I am happy with how it turned out and she was very pleasant and talkative. She also had a lot of recommendations as far as products to use or ways of styling my hair. Would definitely recommend the Salon and Sarah to other people. The salon is nice, modern and clean inside. It's a little bit pricier than some (I think my cut was $59) but that seems about average for the Pasadena area. I had the best first visit at Salon Aguayo and I'm definitely planning on coming back again soon! Before coming in, I read reviews on Yelp and went over their services on the salon's website. The site allowed me to check out IG's and photos that represented work that their stylists have done. This assured me that everybody at the salon was capable of doing amazing hair. I made an appointment and had my haircut on the same day, which I am very grateful for. The location of the salon was beautiful and I was immediately greeted when I arrived. I had an appointment with Natalie B. and I am so grateful that I did because she's great! I told her that I wanted to cut off about 10 inches of my hair and that I've never had short hair before. I have very textured, thick hair and wanted to consult with her before going through with the cut. Natalie is very knowledgeable about different hair types and was able to explain to me how she recommended that I should cut my hair. She also asked if I had any hair inspirations before starting the cut. We came up with a collaboration of both of our ideas. Natalie was very comforting and genuinely wanted me to be satisfied with the end result. She guided me throughout the whole process so that I knew exactly what I was getting and was very precise when it came to details. My hair came out so much better than I expected and I am so appreciative that it did! I am, without a doubt, recommending Natalie to anybody reading this review, and all of my friends and family!
