I grew my hair for 6 months to be able to keep it long. Went in for a cut with Roxy and told her to keep it long, especially in the back. I told her to cut 1 inch to 1 1/2 max (hair was about 6 inches long). She cut it about 5 inches and my hair is super short again, the back is maybe 1/4 inch long when I asked for 4 1/2 to 5 inches long. I asked her on the sides to keep it over the ear, she cut it short and under. At the end she said "I know you said to keep it long, but I cut it short. Looks great!" read more

I love love love this salon. I was referred here by a friend about two years ago and have never been disappointed. I've had my hair styled by Camerin and most recently Roxy. I've gotten a balayage from both of them and they've turned out flawless every time. They also make the color maintainable so I'm not constantly needing to come in for touch ups. Additionally, they were both super friendly and easy to carry a conversation with. I recently started coming to Salon Aguayo after knowing many girls who come here as well. I first came for a hair cut with Sarah. She listened to my concerns and gave me a haircut that was consistent with what I wanted. She also recommended products to me. It wasn't a pushy sale at all, in fact, the products recommended aren't even ones the salon sells. I have been back twice since to have Sarah do my hair for weddings I have gone to. She listened to how I wanted my hair styled and executed very well. I got great compliments both times. Parking is available easily on the street. I needed an up do for a wedding and showed her a pic of what I was looking for and she exceeded my expectations of what I wanted for a hair do. Needing a hair cut i stopped in and asked if there was someone that does mens cuts and was introduced to Alex Gonzales who gave me one of the best haircuts i have ever had. It has been difficult for me to find a good hairstylist since i have curly hair and like it short. To make matters worse i have a bald spot behind my right ear the size of a silver dollar and Alex managed to camouflage it perfectly. I came here for a complimentary Kerastase treatment, and I don't know, I don't feel like they did anything. I couldn't believe that the treatment that they gave me supposedly costs $50-$100 normally. All they did was loosely wash my hair (they didn't do a thorough job either, not like those asian ladies that give you a full head massage and then ask if your head is still itchy anywhere), spray some spritz in, and that was supposedly the treatment. I mean, I guess the girl blow-dried my hair too, but still, I don't think it was worth the $15 that I tipped. I love it. I love this place! I went back the dat after to get my ombre lightened up and it came out amazing. I'm in love with my hair! I had texted her the night before and told her and said she would fix it free of charge and she did! The ombre came out so good and i've seen girls with it that don't look as good but i love mine. I did the most stupidest thing and I bleached my hair three times to get a bright green color I came to her in the hopes that she could save me for what I did to myself and she did. It's taken me a while to find a place in Pasadena that I'm happy with. Salon Aguayo is very upscale, they do everything from waxing to facials to hair cuts to make up to nails. It really is a full service salon. It feels very upscale, they offer you coffee or wine depending on the time of day. Katie is the girl that I normally go to. I love her, she definitely knows what she's doing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has the budget. I've been going to Salon Aguayo for many years... so I thought that I'd finally write a review! My hairstylist there is one of the senior stylists, Karen Spinelli, and I love her! I can completely trust her when I'm sitting in her chair, which is not something that I can say about all hairstylists. Karen listens to what you want, will look at any pictures you bring, or will give you ideas if you don't have any! I have Karen both cut and color my hair, and I always leave looking fabulous! Salon Aguayo is an upscale salon, with a nice inviting decor. The staff really takes good care of you. Karen usually has an assistant working with her, so you are well taken care of! They even offer you a drink as soon as you sit down... I always just have water, but they always offer wine. They also offer other services such as massage, nails, etc.... but I haven't used any of them so I can't comment on them. Their prices are not cheap, but you are getting a first class service here... so I expect to pay more. They do offer better rates for "New Talent" nights, but I've not attended one of these. I highly recommend Karen at Salon Aguayo... time to book my next appointment! read more

My hair gets pretty damaged with daily heat styling but Natalie was able to keep my hair long and styled with bouncy layers. Other places I've been to with the same request chop off several inches from my hair and it takes forever to grow back. UGH.
