Covid, some health issues and, I'll be honest, embarrassment at how I'd let myself go, kept me away from a salon for longer than any human should go in between visits. In my defense, my AMAZING long-term stylist, gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl and decided to change her career to stay at home mom (way to go Katie!). I was referred to Salon Ambiance quite a while ago. But...let's face it, once the messy bun habit is established, it is indeed, a hard habit to break! Finally, yes, I'm a rambler, I made my appointment. I had to wait a few weeks (such a good sign of a great salon) and it was absolutely worth the wait! Karen took the time to listen to my tale of woe (illness, weight gain from illness, job loss, loss of furbabies...) and my desire to keep an easy to manage style. I've had shorter styles and bangs my entire life; when I entered my 50's I decided that I was going to lose the bangs and have long hair!! The colors she chose are natural, gorgeous and vibrant! Karen is super compassionate and oh SO easy to chat with, no awkward talk about the weather! I cannot say enough great things about Karen and her beautiful and classy salon. Go to Salon Ambiance, Karen is clearly my favorite, however, as my hair was processing I watched the other stylists and they all seemed just as friendly as Karen and their clients all looked AMAZING as they smiled while they strutted out of the salon! read more

I am so grateful for Carly and the girls that were here today. It's a Saturday and I came in as a walk in cause I had had a horrible experience somewhere else. The previous hair dresser had botched my hair cut. I have long hair and I asked for layers and she did the opposite! It looked like someone chopped my hair with kitchen scissors. Anyways. I came in feeling desperate and also afraid it was not fixable. Carly not only fixed it but cut it in such a cute way that I love it! Even with some length having to be taken off. The costumer service and care I was given earned Carly a new client. I'm so grateful she took the time at the end of her day to help me. I love my hair now. It's so cute! Pretty Salon! The stylist did a good job. The salon was very clean and my appointment ran on time. I highly recommend.

Janet is someone that I know to be a good waxer which is why I reached out for her services after things opened up again. I'm very sad to say that she is very bad at handling lack of communication. It's an hour trip for me to see her with gas prices so high (over $5 per gallon). When she tried to reach me her message failed. Unfortunately she gave the receptionist the wrong contact info for me so nobody got ahold of me. I asked if she was willing to do anything to correct the misunderstanding and I was met with "too bad so sad. Get over it" in so many words. She called me and wouldn't let me talk because she had to say what she had to say and I have a screen shot below of how I left it to give an example. If she has nothing come up and makes no mistakes, you'll be golden, but I wouldn't recommend her based on this which is sad because I liked her a lot. read more

Please consider following OSHA guidelines. I bought a groupon for Janae and was super freaked about going to Gresham since I pretty much never leave NW Portland. Ever. She was awesome! I was in and out in less than 2 hours. When I told her that I was trying to grow it out, she didn't chop off everything (which happens all the time). And when I left I felt terrible about not being able to tip her. My lame behind forgot to bring cash and I walked out of there pretty much stealing. It was awesome and I've had tons of compliments and will definitely make the trip back out to see Janae again. One of the best, professional salons around. I've used the same stylist since the 90's and drive an hour to get my hair done. All of the other stylists are artists, like her, as far as I'm concerned. I don't trust my hair to any other salon. Color and cut runs me $120 - hair cut $45, but it's worth it. I've tried multiple salons all over town and no one comes close to styling my hair the way I want. read more

Aleesa is awesome! As a new client I went in for a color correction after trying to bleach my own hair. It was hideous! The top was orange and the bottom was greenish gray. I had a consultation with Aleesa and she was able to get me in quickly. She did an amazing job. She took the time to look at the integrity of my bleached hair and used different techniques depending on what my hair needed. She checked the foils frequently to avoid over processing. It took a few hours but when I left my hair was a blonde ombré/balayage that looked great and didn't feel damaged or dry. I'm very happy I chose Salon Ambiance and Aleesa! read more

Bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions done by Joaquin. They looked great. Bought some lash care products and tipped her generously. Trying to contact her to reschedule an appointment however was a nightmare! Her communication skills are awful! After exchanging a few texts messages then asking for her availability but never getting a response, I was done. I booked with someone else, SOMEWHERE else! What does she care right, she has already been paid. That's unfortunate because I referred alot of people to her who also purchased the Groupon.
