I've struggled to find someone who does a good job of providing a curly haircut that doesn't feel like I've chopped a ton of hair off; Candice does it perfectly. I had a wonderful experience with Ashley at Salon Aster. My regular stylist was ill so I was in desperate need of a root touch-up and a cut before embarking on 3 weeks of travel. Ashley was a dream! She's very thoughtful, and truly listened to what I needed. While she's a reserved young woman, don't let her quiet demeanor fool you! She's fierce when it comes to providing amazing service. My only quibble, and this has nothing to do with Ashley, is that the salon was so busy I was pretty much left to my own devices before Ashley came in for the day. While I don't expect champagne and flowers (though, hey, wouldn't knock 'em!), it would have been nice to have been at least offered a glass of water! read more

I came here for my first extensions. Though I ended up taking them off in just 2 weeks later, I do think it was partly due to the type of extensions not being a good fit for me. It was VERY VERY pricey and had hoped for the cost that the expertise would have recommended a better extension type where it would last longer. Nevertheless the hair coloring was and customer service post extension install was exceptional. She comp'ed the return visit so I could not complain. I would recommend Salon Aster for a hair cut, hair coloring but not extensions due to MY own experience. read more

Candice is LIFESAVER!! I normally get my extensions done back in Michigan, but they started to unravel, and I wasn't going back home for a few weeks. Candice was super responsive, got me in within a day and helped sew them back in. My normal stylist does her wefts a little different, but Candice was able to analyze why my extensions became lose and sew them back in so the same thing wouldn't happen again. You can tell she's very passionate about hair and making sure each client has the best style/placement for them. Her prices were also much more affordable than other salons in the city. Absolutely terrible haircut. I asked for just a trim of what I already had. She proceeded to cut 4 inches off the front half of my hair and leave the rest long. I now have a mullet with no way to correct without cutting inches off my hair. Save yourself the years of needing to grow your hair out and do not go here. read more

I saw Candice Macis as my hairdresser for over two years, until she moved away in early 2017. She does a great job. First, she always used good product. In fact, I still but the product she sold out of her booth, Unite, is still on my bathroom shelves (I just had to find another source for my hair-crack). Second, she does a great job cutting hair and coloring hair. As we all know, cutting hair is a talent. Not everyone who goes to beauty school has that talent but Candice does have the talent. Color is even a pickier talent, and Candice gets it. In fact, when she moved she gave the formula for my hair color to my current stylist. They use different product, and Candice was savvy enough to convert it for my current stylist. There are only a few negatives I know about Candice. 1. She utterly abandoned me because of a family emergency. Pish-posh, family-shammily, a hair cut and color is a higher priority. 2. She always got water in my ears when she washed my hair, so bring cotton swabs. 3. She is too caring and remembered everything I told her. Whoops! But, I can clean out my ears, I can keep my mouth shut (maybe not so much), but I can't always find a talented stylist. read more

A friend recommended this salon and I made an appointment with Da Voo because she was reasonably priced as I don't like spending an arm and a leg on a haircut.
