Do not book here!! Salon at Lakeside will NOT keep your appointment!! If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I had three appointments reserved for washes and blowouts yesterday for myself and two guests for my baby shower. I scheduled these appointments with Salon at Lakeside's guest coordinator on May 7th. I received a text asking me to confirm my appointments through Vagaro on June 12th, and another text with an appointment reminder the morning of on June 14th. When we arrived at the salon the woman at the front desk seemed very confused to have three appointments reserved that morning. She asked who we were booked with, and I gave her the name of the stylist in my reminder text that morning. She then said that stylist had broken her arm and no longer worked there so I wouldn't be able to be seen. I explained I hadn't booked with that specific stylist, I had just asked for any stylist available that morning. And what about for stylists for my other two guests I had made appointments for? The front desk woman kind of shrugged and seemed extremely unconcerned with Salon at Lakeside not handling a stylist leaving even though we had an appointment through THEIR Vagaro system! I then gave the name of the guest coordinator I had emailed and she said he no longer worked there either. An employee leaving doesn't mean all the appointments they booked just disappeared. She then offered to maybe call around and see if she could get somebody in but still had an attitude that it was not her problem that Salon at Lakeside had left us hanging. Absolutely abhorrent customer service and appointment management. Thank goodness Blowdry Bar in Boca Park was able to kindly squeeze us in last minute!! read more

Unfortunately, the salon repeatedly cancels and reschedules appointments, and it has become a recurring issue rather than a one-time situation. On top of that, there is constant stylist turnover, which makes it hard to find a stable, long-term stylist. I got a blowout by Zenovia and she did not disappoint -- the volume was everything, my hair felt insanely soft, and she was so gentle the whole time. You can really tell she cares about her craft. I had my wedding at Lakeside and my family and bridal party all did makeup and hair through the salon. I was a COVID bride so I had to reschedule the appointment multiple times and Heather was SO on top of it! My mom and mother and law looked the most beautiful I've ever seen them look. Dannielle did my wedding hair and it was perfect. There was a last minute scheduling conflict but she was able to get me in early and work around it. They got my daughter in for a same day appointment which was much appreciated! It's still currently under renovations while they are taking clients but will be nice inside when they're not actively renovating. The stylist was very nice, she did a good job. I do think after talking with some of my old stylists about how much I was charged, (who I trust and have know for years, in other states), that I was over charged a bit for what was done. I asked for low lights to be put into my daughter's hair, that we had lightened and toned at home the day prior, with instructions from my old stylist. I was told when she was in the chair at Lakeside, that it would be a color correction, not low lights... I don't agree (nor does my old stylist) as there was no color removal done, just full foils of 1 color close to my daughter's natural color, to add soft dimension and darken her base of a platinum blonde up. We didn't need to fix uneven color, brass, or banding as there was some of course, but barely noticeable. She was already toned the night prior so didn't need another toner, her blonde was the shade we were wanting already. We simply wanted some soft dimension added into her hair, and I was prepared to spend $250ish on foils at a salon to have that done and up to $350 on the service... I agreed to let the stylist call it a color correction knowing I would be charged a slightly higher rate because of that, but we were already there so I didn't want to argue about it. The stylist recommended using the leftover color from her foils to smudge my daughter's roots, in between the foils. I said ok not realizing it would be an extra charge of $105 and called a "root touch up"!! So $250 "color correction" (foils), $105 root touch up, $75 cut. We had talked about keeping the price low already as my daughter is only 12 years old, it didn't need to be perfect. So I didn't feel that was transparent and I was surprised by the extra charge. That lost a star for me. I was offered to skip the cut to lower the price when she was under the dryer with her foils in and given a total at that time, but she needed a cut from a previous stylist fixed so we kept the cut... Overall we were happy with the service and the outcome but I would make sure you clarify pricing extra thoroughly, as there's no pricing online and my total of $430 was a shock for what I was asking for. I'd also recommend bringing cash because they charge a %3 fee for cards and had issues with canceling our payment to them via Zelle, which we were offered to avoid the fee. This was not convenient for me, as I got a voicemail the next day that I needed to pay a second time because their Zelle canceled my payment. So the issue with payment lost another star from me. Luckily, we caught their receptionist on her way out, leaving early at 4:45 as I went out of my way to bring them cash to pay a second time. It wasn't a bad experience at all but not a 5 star experience worth the $500 I paid after tipping. read more

I've been coming to this salon for almost two decades and have seen two different hairstylists. Both are very talented. The location is a little odd because you have to drive through Desert Shores, but this is to the salon's benefit because the views are spectacular. Most stations overlook the lake and could not be more beautiful. This would be a great place to come before a wedding. In the past, they had an entire section dedicated for bridal preparations, but I'm not sure if that is still there. There are two reasons I give this salon a four instead of five: *Despite the beautiful interior, it seems they are constantly changing it. I absolutely LOVE coming here every three weeks for my lash fills with Jocelyn. I had worn lashes in the past, but always had shedding and irritation after a week or so, not to mention lashes coming off and looking sparse. In November, 2018 I purchased a very reasonably priced Groupon for lashes and a fill and I haven't been anywhere else since! Jocelyn takes her time putting the lashes on and makes you feel so comfortable. She is always cheerful and plays cool 80's music while you nap or just relax as she's busy applying your lashes. I met her when she was hired to do my hair and makeup and she became my personal artist for all my events and photo shoots. While the receptionist was lovely, I would suggest you do not work with a stylist named Justine. I booked a perm in advance. Im leaving for Costa Rica and needed my hair ready for the humidity. I have had hundreds of perms in my life since I was a kid. I walked in and from the moment Justine met me she was put off. No smile, no" hi and welcome," etc. She brought me back to her station and proceeded to find every reason she could to NOT do the perm. She called my hair "angry" and said it would not take a perm. Said it would not be a good day. Said that It would cost too much. Then did a 'hair test' to say my hair would fall out if I did. I was so irritated as she then went on to say, "Im sorry your hair is not in a state to be permed today." And walked me out. She clearly hates her job and wasted my morning. Not only that but I didn't have the time to waste since I'm leaving town soon. I had to find a new stylist and salon at the last minute. The new salon got the job done. No issues. HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT PURCHASE A GROUPON FOR LASHES HERE!! I have used many Groupons, this was the worst experience I've ever had. First of all they make you feel like you are CHEAP! Never in my entire life have I ever experienced a place that was so unprofessional. Some background: I live locally and go to Desert Shores all the time. However, I have never been to their Salon yet so I decided to book and pay for a service ahead of time. My appointment was confirmed and was scheduled two weeks later. The confirmation call was a bit strange as the receptionist/scheduler told me that children and pets were not welcome as she (quote) "is not a babysitter and will not be responsible for anyone." A bit straightforward but okay, I don't have kids or pets so there wouldn't be an issue with me. Fast forward to my appointment. I get there and they are a bit behind for the appointment. No problem, I had some work emails to review so I was on my phone and in no rush. After I was called in, the lady tried to force me to add services which were extra charge. I told her I would be sticking to what I had paid for and that's when the problems started. She started becoming more and more condescending and it made me feel very uncomfortable. She made me so uncomfortable I told her I was not interested in continuing the service and proceeded to the receptionist desk to confirm I would be canceling the appointment. She followed me and proceeded to verbally accoust me, I was mocked for my disability and was essentially left in tears. My husband heard what happened when I got home so he called in. He asked if he could speak with a manager of what happened but they told him they don't answer to anyone and they hung up on him. My husband was stunned as was I because we happen to be connected to quite a few businesses in the city due to our work and we both have never been treated like this. I still to this day don't know what I did to deserve this. I've been incredibly flexible, super calm throughout the ordeal, did not want to fight with anyone and certainly did not deserve my disability being thrown back in my face. My husband and I will never refer this place to anyone and would advise people to stay away especially since a lack of personal accountability is the norm here. I spend thousands on salon/spa care every year so this place will not get another booking from me and will never get a referral from me. I really did try giving this salon the benefit of the doubt because after seeing the reviews i thought "this salon can't be that bad." WRONG. i purchased a groupon for eyelash extensions. just a regular classic set because i've never had them before and wanted to give them a try. jocelyn, the lady who did my eyelashes, was incredibly rude, and didn't know how to do eyelashes to begin with. she literally glued the eyelash extensions to my EYELID. & i've never had eyelash extensions before but i do know that they are supposed to be glued to your eyelashes and NOT your EYELID. jocelyn was very condescending and treated me less than i should have been treated because i was using a groupon. she rushed me out of the room because she had other clients apparently waiting for her but the waiting room was as dry as the desert. she took 25 minutes to do these terrible extensions and had 10 minutes left to spare after rushing me the whole session. overall terrible service, she can't put on eyelashes. i bet half of the "good" comments were paid for because she seemed like she learned how to to eyelash extensions off of youtube the night before. and i would maybe understand if she had bad reviews but she was excellent at doing eyelashes but she isn't! she sucked and i don't know how they keep her in that salon. please listen to the reviews and don't go here. maybe if they hire another eyelash tech, they would have better reviews. but jocelyn is horrible. did nothing right, needs to learn proper manners and needs to find a new job cause she can't do hers right. read more

If you're looking to get your lashes done, I would not recommend coming here at all. The lady who did my lashes was very rude. She continued to tell me I didn't have any lashes so, she would try her best to help me. I wanted a Class Full Set of lashes and because I was using a Groupon she told me that I'm basically getting some lashes put on and not how it's usually done. She showed me pictures of how it's supposed to look if I didn't use a Groupon. She also used basic scotch tape and told me if I wanted to use lash tape I would get charged $10 extra. In other words, if you're using a Groupon for a Classic Full Set of lashes, they will be rude to you and they won't do them right because of it.
