She texted him personally to make a Saturday afternoon appointment for me and sent pictures of the wolf-cut I desired. I arrived on time for my 2pm appointment and was greeted by Thanh and seated immediately. I showed him the pictures again. Then he asked me if I wanted to shampoo my hair, which I agreed to. Then we got straight to work. At the end of my cut, he made sure I liked the result, to which I asked for my bangs a bit shorted and he readily obliged. I paid $45 (excluding an additional tip) in cash, but I didn't inquire further if they also accept card or if there's an additional fee for paying by card. I looked around the salon for a menu of costs of services, which he said there wasn't one. No problem, I plan on coming back for haircuts only anyway which I know are $45! Otherwise, I'll text him personally asking for other services if I want them! All in all, I was in and out the door at 2:00 and 2:30 respectively, literally (I looked at the clock). My hair is a bit difficult and time consuming to work with: it's thick in both the hair strands and the amount I have. My hair also absorbs chemicals more slowly, so any process done to it takes way longer than expected as well. I'm glad that MJ is willing to work with me and my hair type. It's recommended to make an appointment with MJ ahead of time. If you're looking for a specific style, I also suggest you message her first with pictures of what you would like, so she can prepare and work with you. I appreciate that she's honest with me about what will work and what she may have to change to help suit my face and needs. MJ's studio is small, clean, and cozy. She'll do her best to try to make sure you're comfortable during the appointment. She'll also give suggestions on how to take care of and style your hair if you got any chemical treatments done. And the reason I didn't communicate with her earlier is she was on the phone with her friend for 10 mins in the beginning while cutting my hair and didn't talk with me, then she told me to relax. Honestly I'm not picky with my short haircut but didn't expect her to be so rude with her responses. I have been a nice and friendly client over the couple of years and she rushed me out. This is it.
