I was not offered to be soaked and cuticles cleaned up, polish was left everywhere, and was not asked for lotion. Went there on a Tuesday afternoon. I told tech that I was disabled and they would have to move my fingers they way they needed since I have no feeling in them. Ofcourse tech and tech sitting next to her doing my daughter were talking in their native language, which is extremely rude to begin with. But then she starts laughing and pointing out my fingers to other tech. My daughter was not happy about this and neither was I. Also asked how much for a fill, I got this answer; $35,$40,$45 like do they make up prices as they go? No more prices advertised anywhere. Among the charges was an outrageous 1000 KSH for a so-called "nail repair" on my thumb. I've been coming to Natalie's for years. It's always been hit or miss with nails. However, the last time I came here they did an amazing job on my nails. I was very pleased with my experience and decided to come back today. Today was a completely different story. The lady who did my pedicure was wonderful, kind, and patient. The man who did my acrylics, Tom, was HORRIBLE. He was aggressive with my nails and kept hitting my fingers with the drill. I've never had a nail tech rush my nails like this before, I felt so uncomfortable I almost asked him to stop. I let him continue with my nails, but as soon has he finished I had to hold back tears. He did not even wash my hands before putting on lotion and rubbed acrylic dust mixed with lotion all over my hands. These are the WORST nails I've ever had done in my life. I sucked it up and paid, walked outside and instantly started crying. My nails were crooked and looked like claws. The paint job was horrible and he left pieces of acrylic hanging off my nails. These pictures can speak for themselves for how awful they looked. I called and Natalie did fix my nails to the best of her ability. She was very kind and patient despite having other clients.Thanks to Natalie, I feel better about going in public with these nails. First time using them. Treated myself and granddaughter. Paid my bill and was giving the tip money to the young lady who did my granddaughter toes. Gave my granddaughter money to tip for the lady who did her eyebrows. Was going in my wallet to get the tip for my person who did my toes. He walked away as I was drying which was fine. So I had an appointment for a full set at 6 PM upon arrival they were shocked that I had an appointment. It was downhill from there. One girl was in panic mode when she found out I was there for a full set(6:20). No one bothered to tell me how long I'd wait. Three people came in before 6:30 and they turned them away. The post that they close at 8. My question is why didn't they call and let me know they couldn't honor my appointment? I've only gotten pedicures there before. Where do I begin!? I'd give 0 stars but the owner made it right, so for her I give the place 2 stars. She was very apologetic. It started with waiting 20 minutes for my appointment. The tech Joseph worked incredibly fast and carelessly. At times he even looked away while filing and sanding! That HURT as he was filing and sanding my SKIN, not my nails! He was using cuticle cutters that were dull so they weren't cutting my cuticles, he was just grabbing my cuticles and yanking the skin off! OMG one of those yanks was incredibly painful and blood started pouring, HE KEPT WORKING RIGHT OVER THE BLOOD! The nail file touched my blood! The buffer, the brushes, the gel polish brush, EVERYTHING he just used right over my blood! I'm stupid for not speaking up! I never do but I do NOW after this. I needed to have them redone about a week ago and have been petrified to let anyone touch my fingers again! But the polish obviously was starting to chip after almost a month so I finally went yesterday and had them done at Star Nail just across 140 next to Food Lion and I will be going back to Quan there. Anyhow Josephs paint job was horrid too! He did not do the hand scrub or hand massage that is included in the manicure and never put any type of oil or lotion on my fingers, so I walked out with dry, cracky looking cuticles... Honestly worse than what I walked in with! I'm upset because the whole reason I went was for a manicure, my nails and cuticles were dry, cracking/peeling, and nasty and I thought a good manicure would help them! The first three pics are before and after because the owners husband (Long is his name) fixed it for me. So Joseph's horrible job is on the left and Longs work on the right. And the rest show the places he yanked my skin and left bloody and injured. And on my left pinky you can see how lumpy the nail Polish was, on my right thumb you can see how thick the Polish was piled on and holes and bleeding, my right ring finger if you look under the nail you can see the blood that seeped under there, eventhough that is now healed I have a tiny nodule there which I made an appointment with the Dr to look at because there's still slight pain if you push around the area! I swear I was petrified at the thought of getting my nails done again to go through that pain! I didn't want to further injure the skin around my nails as it was taking a long time to heal! I had to put antibiotic ointment and a band-aid on FOUR of my fingers! They were throbbing and infected! Apparently The owner already knows he does a bad job, I don't know why she keeps him there! And for that reason, eventhough her husband did a great job fixing them, I won't go back to a place that employs a nail tech who does that kind of horrible work, is aware, and keeps them around. My biggest lesson here....READ REVIEWS BEFORE! I read them after and saw quite a few complaints about Joseph! I could have saved myself this horrible experience and physical pain had I read reviews! read more

This salon and its employees do not respect foreigners. I have been going to that saloon for the past 3years, and nothing has changed in their attitude. Even when you tip them, they act like your money doesn't count. The moment you complain about a bad job, they act like they don't understand English, and the only person that does ( the girl with tattoos will be ready to fight the customer) If you don't have an American accent or white, please stay away from that salon because they practice selective customer service. Your money doesn't count there, especially for Africans. You might ask why I kept going; I guess I was in denial because I didn't understand the language and thought maybe I am over reading signals, but the one time I said something about how I felt, the lady with the tattoo told me I messed with the wrong one and was ready to fight because she thinks I should keep quite and receive the bad job that she did. Used to come here a lot, so coming home from school and decided to get my nails done for my friends wedding, this was my go to. Unfortunately that was a huge mistake. I wanted a simple mani-pedi with gel fingers. After being asked if I wanted to upgrade to a deluxe pedicure, I denied...three times. They did it anyways even when I pulled away as they shaved my cuticles and said no again. Then when getting my nails done, there was an issue with one of my nails and I asked for my nail technician to touch it up. She took one look at it and with a rude tone replied "it's fine" and did not touch it. Then when it was time to pay, it totaled to a whopping $75!!! According to the website, a regular pedicure and gel nails should cost $44.... I am so upset at the service I received. I emailed them and got no response. Came here and asked for a full set with junk mail on my ring fingers. They looked great despite my cuticles being near ripped off my fingers (should've been my sign) and bleeding during filing. I thought $62 was a little high but I went with it. Went back two weeks later for a fill and no junk nail, no design what so ever and no fixes and was charged $62. How can a fill cost just as much as a full set? I asked to see a price list and was told everyone had different pricing. Which again, is weird. I paid and left never going back. I took the tips off myself and was shocked to see every single one of my fingers was infected with a nail fungus. It took me a few months to get rid of it completely. I have been coming here for years. It's been the same issues time and time again I'm very disappointed in how this establishment treats their customers! Smacking my hand to "relax it" after I told them I have arthritis and struggle to move certain ways with my hands. I witnessed another employee rip a women's phone out of her hand,VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! my mother came with me my final time there because I'm always being degraded in the salon and I wanted to give them one more chance so I brought her along for support. My mother sat down next to me and a women came up to the desk my mother than asked if she needed her to move to which she replied "not right now" five minutes pass and the lady storms up to my mother and shoos her away! This same women has done my nails prior and completely destroyed my nails. I was getting the polish on and the man doing my nail had my hand In for 2 mins in the lamp when I pulled it out he snapped at me because they were still gummy that's when I looked back over to my mom and she came back over seen I was doing exactly what I was told and made it clear that the polish has to be old. The man doing my nails and the person next to him (same man who ripped the phone out of the lady's hand) started talking about my mother and pointing at her! I have plenty of other stories of horrible experiences at this place but I'm just going to cut my loses and move on from this salon. Dirty AF. Flies everywhere, equipment gross. Waited for a pedi was told it was 20 minute wait. They sat us in the chair and started the water. We waited another 20 minutes with no service and cold water. Started looking around and realized it was pretty gross. Then look at the lady's foot next to me and the tech snipped her cuticle. This was my 1st time at this salon and it will be my last. The person who did my pedicure was down right rude and insulted me several times. I was speaking with my friend about how I needed to dye my hair again and she replied "yeah I can see your roots from here." I let that slide thinking she was trying to be funny. Over the next 30 minutes, she said "EW!" when i took my feet out from the tub and that I cut my nails wrong and that I needed to get a pedicure every other week and to come back to see her. (Um no!)The pedicure it self was horrendous. She repeatedly jabbed the tools into my skin and nails and I bled at one point. Besides the terrible service, the woman also openly aired her dirty laundry. Talking poorly about her boyfriend and he had threatened suicide a few days eariler and how she "wished he would just leave" her. This put my friend and I in a very awkward position. How do you respond to that? And any time my friend and I would try and talk she would butt into our conversation like a 4 year old. At the end of my visit I was also charged $5 more than what I was told. I will not be back here again. I would only recommend this place to my enemies.I have never had a pedicure that was painful. The gentleman I had who did my nails was alright he definitely does his service different but it was okay seemed rushed is all. He didnt clean off my cuticles, when sanding my nails to put on the gel he used the fine grinder before the rough grinder and then I had French tips done, they look faded and rough on the edges. I had a design put on my ring fingers, another artist did it, she seemed rushed and a little sloppy, she didn't cover my whole nail in clear top coat just half the design and gem. A week later and my nails are coming off my nails, chipping, and my design and gem I had done came off within 3 days.. the price wasnt terrible only 42 for a full gel set and 2 designs. I get my nails done here probably about every two weeks. The best service, everyone is super friendly. I posted a picture of my nails right now that I got done there a week and a half ago. They take their time to make sure everything is to your liking. I've probably had the same nails on for over a month. This is the only place that I've ever been to that my nails don't break off or chip. I will keep returning. The only negative I have is when you're paying with a card and don't have cash they don't ask how much you want to tip. So I have left there without tipping although I wish I would've been asked. They have extremely nice pedicure chairs, with a built in massager and remote. They have tons of colors to choose from with great brands. All their colors stay on great, and my pedicure lasted about 2-3 weeks before I had to take it off. read more

Poor quality mani, long wait, dirty, terrible customer service. My sister and I were worked-in the day before her wedding. We appreciated this and expected a wait. We were told that we would wait about 30 minutes for manis and pedis. After waiting longer, we decided to skip the pedicures. I got a plain polish mani and the tech did not hide his disappointment. He did not shape my nails, but clipped my cuticles nipping my skin, filed my nails, and buffed them. His instruments had not been autoclaved, but came from a plastic box. There was dust all over the station. And the nail files had been obviously used on someone else, coming from a drawer. The polish job was rushed and he used a desk fan to dry my nails. There was no drying bar to sit at when I was done. I left with wet, smudged nails because I was so eager to leave. My sister got a gel manicure. The tech substituted her colors without getting her opinion. When she gave feedback on what she wanted, he got an attitude and seemed unable to give her the color she wanted on her accent nail. He talked bad about her both in English and his own language. We were extremely disappointed, felt like we wasted our money. We had looked for a time of pampering before her wedding to hang out as sister's. If the salon was unable to work us in, we would have appreciated being told no and gone home instead. My 16 year old daughter came into the salon to get eyelash extensions for the first time. She was wearing false eyelashes which had to be removed and there was some glue residue left on her lid. To remove this residue the tech/owner squirted a chemical on her lids (did not spray on a q-tip first). My daughter said that her eyes were burning. She had her eyes closed so she did not know who was there. It was another tech. This tech did not tell the my daughter's tech that my daughter's eyes were burning and they did not address the issue. They do not speak English to each other so my daughter had no idea if something was said. She was nervous and thought maybe this was normal. When she came home her eyes were bright red and burning. She rinsed them out and went to bed. The next morning her eyes were swollen and red. She went to school and ended up in the nurses office with her eyes burning again. They flushed them again. After I picked her up we went back into the salon to find out what chemicals were used and to get a refund. The owner was called and we had to wait for her to get to the salon to get help. She only offered a refund if we find that the products she used caused the problem. I'm not sure if she understands the situation. I am a nurse at the hospital and I don't understand when someone says their eyes are burning that the techs do not communicate and flush the clients eyes immediately. EVEN IF IT IS AN ALLERGIC REACTION. They are not licensed or regulated by the bureau of cosmetology and I cannot find a certification for the BBB either. I would not get your lashes done here. Especially if you have not had them done before and if someone is under the age of 18 unaccompanied. I will be writing our congressman to see what can be done about more regulation of lash techs here in Maryland. Other states are required to have a cosmetology license where they are trained appropriately and regulated. read more
