Diana did an absolutely amazing job on my hair today! Months ago I dyed my own hair and severely damaged it, as well as had an uneven cut, and too thick bangs. Diana did a olaplex treatment on my hair, softened my bangs, gave me a cut, and curled my hair. When I arrived home my husband was grinning as he saw my finally improved hair, he loves it! I love this place, I've been going for a while now. Eli has been cutting my ends and helping my hair get healthier. Since I am in the military my hair has been through a transition, my ends where empty (the bun was a problem, thank G-d for that new regulation) and Eli gave me all the tips and advice to handle it better since she has experience with "military hair". Also these pictures are from a military ball, everyone loved my hair, these are hair extensions and she did a miracle because my hair was too thick for these very thin extensions that I brought. Eli also did my hair a day before the ball, and said: "it's better if I spray your hair tomorrow morning before the ball starts so you don't have to sleep sitting up tonight lol! So I came back the next morning, she retouched and sprayed my hair like promised and I left very happy, this was my first experience with extensions and I love them! Thank you Eli! read more

So I booked an appointment with Diana to get my hair cut into a bob & the salon was nice & she was very nice but when I got home I was very disappointed in my hair. So I have a perm, so I can't really tell how the ends are cut, but when I straightened my hair, my ends were SO choppy and now I look crazy with my ends being puffy and choppy. read more

I found this salon on yelp and decided to give it a try. I like the atmosphere, cleanliness, friendliness of the stylist. The owner Chemar is always welcoming and friendly to all clients. The ease of scheduling appointments on the app is a big plus. The interaction between the owner and both stylist is the recipe for a good welcoming establishments. I've seen many regulars get their hair done and I've seen walk-ins with no appointment and first visit.... there was no difference in how each client was treated. I've been a client of Tamara for a few months now and I am always pleased with the end result and most of all the growth and progression of my hair. Tam is very friendly and genuinely cares about the healthiness of hair. She gives recommendations and suggestions of products that can be used to assist with personal hair goals and what she feels professionally can enhance the healthiness of your hair. She does a good trim, may seem minor but I have had issues in the past with stylist who couldn't not cut or trim hair. Also, I have lots of hair and often time stylist get frustrated but Tam, gets it done and I'm usually in and out within an hour and a half. Checking out is fast and easy, even environmentally friendly with an emailed receipt. Calm, caring and clean environment to get you hair done! Places like this is hard to come by in this area. I'm not one to get on Yelp and write reviews. But after a fantastic experience today, I felt like I had to! I woke up and decided after 11 weeks of being in quarantine, I needed to fix the hack job I gave myself during week 2. I know, I'm an idiot. I had never been to Salon Chemar but was able to book a same day appointment online with Ellis. 2 points already: 1 for the online booking and 1 for same-day availability! The salon was clean, and amidst the Covid crisis, the salon made it easy to abide by social distancing. There was only one other customer in the salon and 2 employees. Both employees wore masks and hand sanitizer was at every station. Ellis was amazing. I have a sensitive scalp and she was so gentle and careful with my hair that I never even had to ask her to be gentle! She not only fixed my hack job, but gave me some cute layers that I love. She also used some mousse that has left my hair bouncy and curly all day. I've received many compliments, so I definitely need to find out what mousse that was so I can buy some! Salon Chemar gets another point for making it to where I can tip on my receipt instead of needing to tip in cash. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back to this place! read more

I've never written a review on a place, but the results of my hair turned out so crappy, I downloaded the Yelp App so I could let people know about my experience to save y'all some trouble. I'm not going to say THE SALON IS HORRIBLE because one person did not perform well on my hair. Therefore, I will review the lady that did my hair. This past Saturday, I had an appointment with Diana for loose curls and for my bangs to be flipped out a bit also (not sure on the exact name for the hair style, which is why I brought in a picture). Seems like a pretty simple procedure. I arrive to my appointment, and Diana isn't even there. That didn't bother me that much, but I wasn't completely happy with it either. I waited about 10 minutes for her arrival. She was friendly. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair done. She then heats up the In Styler hair tool. She attempts to curl my hair with the In Styler, but then states doesn't know how to use it. So she turns on her flat iron to curl my hair instead. She does all my hair (the whole time I was not facing the mirror so I wasn't able to look while she was doing my hair). She did it, though, I think, so I could face my husband while we converse. That was nice of her. So then she is done (pretty quickly, didn't seem like she took her time nor cared about trying to make my hair look good) and turns me around so I can face the mirror. My first reaction is Ehh, this is OK, does NOT match the picture but it'll do I guess since I had to leave soon anyway for an appointment in Dallas & still needed to pick up breakfast. I paid, tipped (totally regret it) and left. That would be the last time I ever go to that salon. So 10 minutes later I arrive to McDonald's for breakfast. I go to the bathroom to check out my hair real quick. I soon then realize my hair looks like the work of a 10-year-old boy who tried to do his moms hair for the first time after watching a YouTube tutorial. I guess the lighting and mirror in the McDonald's bathroom gave me a much better view of my hair. Seriously, it looked like she just didn't care, didn't try and rushed. I can see why this salon charged much less than other salons, YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. I'm not saying my hair looked like complete crap, but literally, a 10-year-old boy who watched a YouTube tutorial on how to do hair could have done the same thing or actually even better. I've had friends who don't have a cosmetology license and still do SO MUCH better than what she did. It just bothers me that the fact that she went to school for this but still performs worse than people that didn't. At the salon, though, she did mention how my curls couldn't curl right because i straightened my hair prior to the hair appointment. BUT STILL, I've had friends curl my hair when it was straight, and turned out a million times better than what she did. It just looked sloppy and unkempt. NOT SOMETHING YOU WOULD EXPECT A HAIR STYLIST TO DO. It just DID NOT look like the work of a licensed hair stylist! What also contradicts her statement is that my hair extensions that she curled were NOT straightened and those still looked like amateur poop. Bottom line, Diana did not do a good job on my hair. I can't speak for the rest of the ladies there, they may be great. But when you work somewhere you represent it. What you do wrong has an impact on where you work. it affects the business. read more

I love this place! Great customer service from all staff. It feels like you're in an episode of Cheers, but instead of a bar, you're in a salon. You become insta-family after you sit in the chair. I don't know about you ladies, but I personally don't like to have too many people in my hair (similar to the saying; too many cooks in the kitchen). I am of mixed race and my hair is basically African. I have done the relaxer thing then changed to Japanese Thermal Reconditioning (JTR) thing, to now Agave. The new IT thing, is to go natural. Well... with my African hair, that would be a bad story. I was tired of relaxers, so I found the JTR which works great! It made my hair bone straight. I would shower and my hair would air dry straight. The down fall with that process was, when my hair grew in. I would have very straight hair with curly roots. Plus it is just very expensive to maintain, $450 just for the JTR and it took 4 hours to do. That price doesn't include cut and style. Diana, was recommended to me by my fiance. I made an appointment to test the waters with a simple trim and flat iron straightening. My first appointment went great. Couldn't be happier. I made weekly appointment thereafter b/c it was cheap and faster for her to wash and style my hair vs me doing it at home! Diana noticed how unhealthy my hair was and told me to go natural instead. I told her how awful that plan was. She mentioned the Agave treatment b/c turns out my hair was severely damaged from the JTR treatments. She proceeded to tell me about the Agave treatment itself and how natural product the product is. She told me it wouldn't make my hair straight but make my hair manageable since I have so much hair. It took me awhile to be convinced but I finally broke down and got it done. Just like she said it does make my hair manageable and I'm noticing how my hair is thickening up again and is getting healthy again. Diana has those growing fingers! Now I go twice weekly to get my hair done. My fiance is the best! Thanks Salon Chemar for your talent and dedication to your clients/work. read more
