I've been going here for almost a year or more now and haven't gone anywhere else. This place provides great service and is organized with equipment I've never seen before, a real game changer. I feel like a VIP here the way they offer me coffee, snacks, and give me head massages when washing my hair. Especially Meijin Jin who is my stylist, nobody has cut and permed my hair better than she has. I've never gotten one bad haircut or style before from her and always knows what's best and gives out good recommendations, she is the best literally! I came to Salon De Freya about a month ago and posted my most recent review late...but I wanted to share an update on the touch ups that I did today with my hairstylist Tei! :) I came in to do the scalp treatment again as well as do touch ups on my current hair extensions since they faded out a bit into a silver color. The salon and Tei did a great job with my extensions by adjusting it to be a bit lower in my hair so that it does not show the top of the extensions as well as gave me a similar but super cute new shade of purple which is a little darker! I loved the subtle look and I got to still keep my extensions and utilize them longer which was super sweet and nice! The styling of curling my hair and up keeping my layers also made my experience great once again! As usual, the scalp treatment is something I am still getting used to but I definitely would recommend it! Doing it for the second time, I felt so clean and fresh and it almost felt like my hair was not only shiny but strong as well as light in a way even with the added extensions! The staff there are all so accommodating and provided the services efficiently as well as with lots of love and care! When I came into the salon I was very hesitant doing these new treatments as well as trying hair extensions and deciding to take their suggestion on letting my original black hair heal properly and stronger (as I mentioned in my last review) and I don't regret it at all! They are amazing and I can't wait to come back again! p.s. although my purple extensions are darker than the first time it gave me lots of nostalgia because it was the first color I ever dyed my hair so it was a nice touch! 또 오기를 정말 기대하고 있습니다. 정말 감사합니다. read more

This is the second time I have attended this salon. The first time I wasn't happy with my cut but I figured I wasn't clear enough. They cut my hair and "curled" the ends and it fell flat in an hour. Today I payed $300 for a mucotta treatment that's supposed to control frizz and $120 long layered haircut. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. I told her please I don't want it frizzy and I want my hairstyle to last she took 4 minutes blow drying and a few minutes to curl the ends. Usually they blow out longer to maintain curl and control frizz. I hate complaining but I figured I'm paying a lot let me voice my concerns. She then gaslighted me by telling me the girl in the picture has more hair and that's why it doesn't look the same. As a hairstylist you are supposed to blow out the ends to create volume mind you she even curled it inward when the picture was curled outward. I payed $440 (I only left a $20 tip) because my hair is ato frizzy after the expensive treatment and my expensive haircut and style fell flat. Im highly upset that I didn't get what I want after paying so much and being specific about what I wanted. If they couldn't do it they should have said it prior to me showing the picture. I am realistic and didn't expect it to be exactly the same but I've gotten more volume at other places that actually took the time blowing it out. Stylist Song is BACKKKKKKKKKKK! She has been my fav go-to for my long haircut and I can finally get the Korean style haircut like I want to again. I love having layers and make my face look smaller lol My friend also got a korean style hush cut from her and she loved it! Song is super fast and very detail oriented. She is very friendly and is trying hard to learn english too. I think she also mentioned that she has 20+ years of experience from Korea. Salon de Freya is super clean, spacious, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. The shampoo and wash were amazing (really thorough and so calming). Sunny is incredibly talented. I had a bit of a shock with my perm here, but the owners and stylist both reached out to me and were very empathetic and concerned about my reaction. Essentially, I came in to treat myself for a c curl perm on waist length hair as I'm returning to work soon after having my second baby. This is maybe my third or fourth time getting a c curl perm so I'm pretty familiar with the process. I usually get an inch or two trimmed off before proceeding but this time I was advised I would need to cut more. We discussed a length several inches below my shoulder which I felt would still be longish hair. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, my hair ended up being an inch above my shoulders, which is shorter than I have ever had it in my life. I really tried to trust the process and fall in love with the cut, but as I left and the reality sunk in, I honestly cried. I didn't think I was coming in for such a drastic change and it's going to take years to grow the hair back that has been my signature my whole adult life. Even though I was not in love with my cut, the perm was executed well and everyone was very kind and professional at the salon. Both my stylist and the owner reached out and offered me a treatment if I was willing to come back. I was touched by their kind outreach and professionalism. It sucks that there isn't much I can do but just try to get used to this new length, but I appreciate very much that they took the time. read more

When I lived in LA I went to Salon de Freya a handful of times for different services, styling, textured cuts, coloring, and every single time I left with a look better than what I even came in expecting. Amazing service. I've been coming to this hair salon for the last 3 years and while I've had different stylists work on me, I can 100% recommend Tei. She's so kind and professional and is very skilled at styling that you'll never go wrong if you decide to book an appointment with her. Personally, I usually come in for a men's haircut + perm and not only is it always a consistently high quality experience from start to end, but the results always come out perfect at the end. The hospitality the staff has towards its clients is top notch and you won't find another place with a more convenient parking situation. I've also been to other salons in the area and this is the first and only spot that keeps my hair healthy and doesn't damage it. Will be coming back, just as I always have. I had a scalp scaling treatment with Zieun, and it really exceeded my expectations. My scalp usually feels oily and heavy, but after the treatment, it felt noticeably lighter and cleaner. Having moved to Ktown, it's hard finding a salon that has justifiable prices. Lots of prices for perms around Ktown will be a bit pricier but the service was incredible. Staff were extremely friendly and they offered guidance on how to style your hair. Sunny and Zieun helped me out today and they made sure I was taken care of with drinks, snacks and such.
